Well, here we are again, another French Open. Yay ! Grin

It's a shame we wont see Murray, as he was playing very well, it would have been great to see the Top 5 'together' again.

No prizes for guessing who the favourite for the Mens is, VAMOS RAFA ! I'd love to see him win it for the 8th time.

Roger Fed is looking well, just started playing , it would be good to see him do well, although we all know Wimby is his best tournament.

Novak seemed to be struggling a bit earlier this year, after the Aussie Open win, it will be interesting to see how he fares this year on clay. Nicely set up so that he and Rafa will meet in the Semi's, should they both play well. Which easily leads to Rafa for the Final, and his 8th win ! Don't forget, Novak fans, that Rafa beat Nole in 4 sets last year. Wink

Serena Williams is looking her usual belting self, just thrashed her opponent, she must be a consideration for the win, as must last years winner, Maria Sharapova. I'd like to see Laura Robson do well, and Heather Watson, but realistically Laura could be out in the first round.

Hope everybody enjoys the tennis as much as I do, I'm going to have a great fortnight, 9:30am to 9:00pm everyday. Bliss !

Looking forward to having our usual daft threads running, along with the ogling and arguments. Here's to another great summer of tennis ! Wine

The Nadal match was was way too stressful, and the commentary was very biased.

C'mon Jo-Willy, let's have a match!
I'm sort of rooting for Ferrer, though

Witt · 07/06/2013 18:02

I can't decide who I want to win this one. I'm supporting Tsonga because he's the home favourite and seems like a nice guy, but equally Ferrer seems like a nice bloke and I'd also like him to get to a grand slam final.

I guess I don't mind who wins. Let's just hope for another nail biter!

PetiteRaleuse · 07/06/2013 18:03

Switched off when Ferrer was 4-0up that first set and have only just dared switch back on. Would so love for Tsonga to do well today. Even though I am missing the final Angry

Raahh · 07/06/2013 18:12

C'mon- anyone! The Voice is on at 7pm!Grin

Raahh · 07/06/2013 18:13

Is Tsonga injured, or just fed up?

Mama1980 · 07/06/2013 18:17

Not injured I don't Think, he seems to be moving well....I'm not sure what's going on. Nerves maybe seems a bit wild with the shots.
Not sure whether to hope he gets in the match or not, my nerves haven't recovered from rafa yet!

Raahh · 07/06/2013 18:22

The shadow is rapidly covering the court- not sure what time they call time due to light- it's 7.20 there? if this goes to 5 sets, it won't finish tonight.

Raahh · 07/06/2013 18:29

there's a lot of call-querying going on.

Witt · 07/06/2013 18:37

Raahh Why is The Voice on and what has happened to WILTY and HIGNFY?? Sad

Raahh · 07/06/2013 18:39

Witt- The Voice has been moved, so it doesn't clash with the Britain's got Talent finalHmm

IreneR · 07/06/2013 19:00

Poor Jo-Willy is looking awfully lethargic. An all-Spanish final could be fun.

marjproops · 07/06/2013 19:03

oh come on! wake up tsonga!

i think even tho i dont mind who wins this, i think jo would stand a better chance of winning the final.

yes, im back, the ONE not-nadal fan on here Grin.

i sooooo wanted to watch the last match but was boaking over my coffee at the hands up the bum/scratching/sweaty dirty that was going on....and NOT by Djoko!!

btw on the eurosport tennis news youll find a few more not-nadals there!

But i love my tennis so thats why im on here.

DevlinMaccabee · 07/06/2013 19:07

Come on Tsonga!!

Witt · 07/06/2013 19:08

I'd like Tsonga to win at least one set

Raahh · 07/06/2013 19:10

marj- none of the ITV commentary team were pro-Rafa. Even after he won. I was soooo glad he won- but I've gone right off Jim Courier. Grin

IreneR · 07/06/2013 19:18

It will be a right old grunt-fest on Sunday, though, with Ferrer and Rafa both being so ... noisy.

Raahh · 07/06/2013 19:18

This hasn't turned into the match it looked like it could have beenSad

Raahh · 07/06/2013 19:20

Irene- it's not as offensive as the women screaming, though. And at least the blokes are usually putting some effort in.

yay!! Ferrer!Grin

IreneR · 07/06/2013 19:20

Awwww; David looks so delighted.

Raahh · 07/06/2013 19:21

VAMOS indeed on Sunday!

I might make sangria. GrinWine

Raahh · 07/06/2013 19:24

S'Toma's hearing aid is clearly on mute.

Raahh · 07/06/2013 19:24

arggggggh-- wrong thread!

marjproops · 07/06/2013 19:25

dont get me wrong btw rafafans, the guys a great tennis player, i just dont like players with:

bad attitudes/tantrums (and yes even my Djoko has his moments)

unsportmanlike behaviour (man and women)

the loudness/grunting etc

and filthy habits for all to see. not just nadal, berdych likes a 'pull' too.
