Well, here we are again, another French Open. Yay !

It's a shame we wont see Murray, as he was playing very well, it would have been great to see the Top 5 'together' again.

No prizes for guessing who the favourite for the Mens is, VAMOS RAFA ! I'd love to see him win it for the 8th time.

Roger Fed is looking well, just started playing , it would be good to see him do well, although we all know Wimby is his best tournament.

Novak seemed to be struggling a bit earlier this year, after the Aussie Open win, it will be interesting to see how he fares this year on clay. Nicely set up so that he and Rafa will meet in the Semi's, should they both play well. Which easily leads to Rafa for the Final, and his 8th win ! Don't forget, Novak fans, that Rafa beat Nole in 4 sets last year.

Serena Williams is looking her usual belting self, just thrashed her opponent, she must be a consideration for the win, as must last years winner, Maria Sharapova. I'd like to see Laura Robson do well, and Heather Watson, but realistically Laura could be out in the first round.

Hope everybody enjoys the tennis as much as I do, I'm going to have a great fortnight, 9:30am to 9:00pm everyday. Bliss !

Looking forward to having our usual daft threads running, along with the ogling and arguments. Here's to another great summer of tennis !

Apparently, there is no love lost between the 2 ladies, I wonder if they sometimes do it to try to put one another off ? I would guess not, because they are whacking the balls so hard.

I'd like to see Azaranka win. But I've a feeling she won't. The noise is definitely game-play, the more I see the more I'm convinced. I bet Navratilova wouldn't have liked it

yy- the racket tape is sticky stuff. Dh uses it on his softball bats. Guaranteed to stick to everything it touches...

I prefer Serena to Shrieky, I think. She's quieter,at least on court.

I don't think Vicky stood a chance really, Maria is so strong when she gets going.

I am not a great fan of the Williams' sisters, but I do think the game would have been much duller without them.

Hopefully the final will be less one sided, but I think Serena might have the edge.

cant stand Serena (have you ever known anyone LESS like their name suggests?!) and her diva attitude-altho i think shriekapova is worse.

however I do admire her for fighting back from injury and illness and getting back to the top.

love the sisters when they play doubles but singles?

as for the shriekathon...how the hell are they allowed to get away with it? i mean, how can the umpire hear the line judges with all that going on?

who said it, right at the beginning of the tourny about shrika getting away with it all the time yet this one was penilised?

marj- they are a formidable pair. I think their whole family are very intense.

their dad is just wild!! mind you i have heard him give lots of credit to other players as had Tony nadal.

Today should be a good one. Of course, I am backing Rafa all the way, but I do think it is quite close to call. Both matches ought to be close- would love a Nadal/Ferrer final, a clay master class!

FFS- we are only on the second game , and jim Courrier has just said 'Nadal to serve ,to get on the board' It's the SECOND FUCKING GAME!
