I think I might want to marry Lucas Hood. Not sure if my DH will agree to it though.

Yes me! It's fab (so far).
Mmm he is a hunk, but get the impression he could be of shorter stature
Do you think the wayward daughter is actually his natural daughter?

SlatternismyMiddlename · 18/05/2013 20:53

I was starting to think I was the only one who had discovered the joy (and pain) that is Banshee - it is not for the faint of heart.

I took it for granted that Deva was Lucas' when he discovered her date of birth on her driving license. But it hasn't been mentioned since.

I hadn't noticed if he was short, was too busy looking at other attributes Smile

I'm watching it too. Lucas is gorgeous, he does seem a bit short - doesn't put me off Wink!

I'm not sure how long he will last as Sheriff considering how many people he keeps beating up. I just watched this weeks episode last night, quite brutal for me!

SlatternismyMiddlename · 19/05/2013 10:56

I also wondered how somebody who has been in jail for the last 15 years could manage to know all the procedural stuff that goes with being a sheriff. Never mind the level of violence he uses, in front of witnesses.

But then again I don't think I should be looking at the storyline THAT closely Smile.

I have a feeling it may get more brutal. There are bits that make me physically wince.

Yes this week's epi with the fight with Sanchez was horrible.
He doesn't know all the Sheriff procedures - his female sidekick has put him straight/given him the nod a couple of times. She's also been lusting after him ,or have I imagined that? But who wouldn't!
Did you notice after his cellar up-against-the-wall shag with Rebecca, she went straight upstairs and outside into Proctor's car and put her feet up on the dash. NO KNICKERS ON. (Skanky)

Cooroo · 20/05/2013 22:08

Wildly improbable but quite fun so far. Still looking for the new Breaking Bad and this isn't it, but we'll stick with it for a bit.

SlatternismyMiddlename · 21/05/2013 08:06

I agree with that it is a wildly improbable concept - but I like the idea of a love story set against a background of a seemingly conservative small town which is actually a hot bed of illegal and immoral activity.

And Lucas Hood is hot.

buzzgirly · 22/05/2013 17:41

What is his real name? Lucas Hood is the sheriff he's impersonating? I don't I've heard anyone use his actual name. I may be over thinking it!

SlatternismyMiddlename · 28/05/2013 18:05

Sorry buzzgirl I didn't see your post. We don't know his real name, I think it's supposed to add to the enigma of who he is.

I enjoyed last nights episode.

Loving this show! Agree about the concept, surely it can't sustain more than one series especially with that fbi agent sticking around...

PacificDogwood · 30/05/2013 11:25

I was going to start a thread about Banshee Smile - glad I found this.

Yes, a bit very improbably, but what a ride Grin!

SPOILER ALERT

So, Deva MUST be Lucas Hood's daughter, surely? Why has this not been mentioned this he discovered her age?
Lucas is a Good Guy, although he is a bit damaged and a Bad Boy, yes?
Kai Proctor is Evil and Bad, but his Amish background may be a bit of Achilles Heel of his, non?
His bowtie wearing sidekick is v creepy.
Sugar we love of course.
Carey/Ana - hm, she's got a good thing going with her family, you don't get the impression that she's in a bad marriage, but obviously has the hots for Lucas. And what about Rabbit?? Her dad?!
And I love, love, love the character of Joe - so what to see more of him!!

Can't wait for the next episode. How many are there altogether? Does anyone know?

ilovepowerhoop · 30/05/2013 11:30

it has been signed up for another series according to the facebook page

ilovepowerhoop · 30/05/2013 11:32

looks like there are 10 episodes as the season finale has already been shown in America

ilovepowerhoop · 30/05/2013 11:33

looks like there are 10 episodes as the season finale has already been shown in America - of season one I mean

SlatternismyMiddlename · 30/05/2013 19:12

Ooooooh, a second series.

I'm still enjoying it. The fight scene with the bikers was fairly brutal, true to Banshee form. Rebecca is a lucky girl Smile.

Well.

The most recent episode (watched last night, recorded on Sky+) was a bit grim, wasn't it??
The fighting and powerplay in prison were all quite stomach turning IMO and I am not sure how I feel about what they did to his former jail buddy - sorry, cannot think of his name.

Maybe Lucas is less of a Good Guy than I hoped thought Sad.
I suppose what he and Sugar did was a logical step to eliminate the threat he posed, but still...

And how v dare Carey/Ana consider giving him up to Rabbit??

I am taking this too seriously, aren't I?

SlatternismyMiddlename · 04/06/2013 20:56

I will watch it tonight and return to discuss.........

MoominMammasHandbag · 04/06/2013 21:07

It's a bit violent for me to be honest; I have my eyes closed ^and^ my fingers in my ears at some points. And no way could I watch it with my teens; it's very sexually explicit.

PacificDogwood · 04/06/2013 21:22

Yep, I had my eyes covered in places as well.
I cannot stand sexual violence - it happens, I know that, but I don't need to see it for my entertainment, yeuch Angry.

And no way could I watch this with anybody other than DH... He does not cope well with the 'gay' scenes HmmGrin

I still find it really v entertaining and at times funny.
No idea how they would ever resolve it or let it run in to a second series. And if it's a cliff hanger - grrrrr. I hate those!

SlatternismyMiddlename · 04/06/2013 23:06

Oh my, I feel a little bit sick.

I think the whole point of Lucas Hood is that he is a survivor, it ain't pretty, it ain't glamorous, he does what he has to do to get through. He is a scrapper. But saying that, it wasn't easy to watch.

There was some humour in the episode. I also think that is the first episode Carrie has stayed fully clothed.

OP posts:
juniperinNZ · 05/06/2013 07:53

It's a very good series, although if you are not liking the amount of violence I'd stop watching now, as it gets a lot worse... They showed it a while ago here in New Zealand as Antony Starr who plays the sheriff is a Kiwi and they get very excited here about anything that is on tv that shows one of their own :) (well of our own I suppose as my ds is a Kiwi...).

PacificDogwood · 05/06/2013 08:29

It gets worse??
Oh my.

And he's a Kiwi, is he?
I couldn't tell

TwllBach · 05/06/2013 18:57

I'm watching it too!!

It is a bit full of sex and violence, I'm another one that winces at the fights and blushes at the sex scenes Blush

I quite like it though - I'm a sucker for a damaged, scrappy man. He so obviously loves Carrie/Ana

mrsjay · 05/06/2013 20:52

I started watching all my recordings yesterday OH I SAY Blush it is a but full on the dds normally watch new stuff with us but I dont think I could watch all the sex infront of them I was blushing It is good though Grin

buzzgirly · 11/06/2013 17:38

I loved last night's episode, it was the best so far. He's emotional and super hot Wink
