Anybody watching Banshee?

I think I might want to marry Lucas Hood. Not sure if my DH will agree to it though.

I think their night together showed that Lucas and Carrie still obviously have a great connection but I believe her when she said that for her it was a goodbye. Obviously now that her husband has left her things will be different.

I love Job and Sugar- best bromance ever! We need to see more of them.

I have just finished watching Banshee. Have been glued to it!

I actually really love the violence and the sex - it's done quite knowingly I think. It's a pulp series and works best if you suspend disbelief and see it almost as a comic book. The Carrie / Oleg fight being a prime example...it could never happen in RL, but I can see it as a storyboard inked over several pages, intercut with the two other subplots as it was in the show.

Absolutely LOVED the fact that the series finale of this story about a brooding, brutal antihero consisted of said antihero tied to a chair, beaten and helpless, whilst the female protagonist battled her way through several waves of henchmen to rescue him

Lots of set-ups for season 2, as well:
Chippy young tribal chief and his mysterious sister;
Unsettling sexual vibe between Proctor and niece plus he is training her up to be his sidekick;
Hood's secret identity about to be exposed

Not to mention Rabbit still alive and no doubt planning his revenge.

To me the violence and the sex took some getting used to. Some bits (the hole in the hand in the first episode) were clearly cartoonish but the boxer beating up the prostitute was tough watching.

I still wince when I think about the scene when he drops the weight on the albino.

I loved that the 6 of them went to save Hood. (Although they set off in the dark and by the time of the shoot out it was broad daylight). Carrie was impressive and I like the way she is quite capable of taking care of herself.

Special credit has to go to Job's fight makeup. I wanna try it!
