I think I might want to marry Lucas Hood. Not sure if my DH will agree to it though.

I agree - a superior episode. The violence was not excessive and the emotional impact of what took place in his room was just....... Wow. Don't want to post a spoiler.

I couldn't have said it better - emotional and super hot!

Yep, I agree, great episode in every respect Grin.

Really, really suspenseful, edge-of-your-seat stuff.

And more Joe with his sharp make-up [like]

Cooroo · 12/06/2013 07:47

Joe = Job I think, though it's hard to tell from listening. He is my favourite character so far!

Odd, it's not 'great' TV but it's keeping me watching. Will it just settle down into rescuing his unacknowledged daughter from certain death every week? She is beginning to remind me of Kim Bauer with her talent for getting into nasty situations.

buzzgirly · 12/06/2013 09:48

I just love this programme - I swoon over Lucas Hood!!

I watched short pre-episodes on YouTube, it is my new obsession!!

PacificDogwood · 12/06/2013 21:03

Oh, is it 'Job'? Even cooler Grin.
His eye makeup and dress sense are certainly far superior to mine...

TwllBach · 13/06/2013 10:41

I'm watching it now... Job is the Asian guy, am I right? He just made me laugh with "there's pussy whipped an then there's that sorry mother fucker" and then his fear at the cash register being opened by Sugar Grin

I'm beginning to feel like its a grown ups version of Revenge, with Job as Nolan GrinGrin

... I appreciate that next to no one will have a clue what I'm going on about.

TwllBach · 13/06/2013 11:24

I love a man that can cry and kill Grin

aoife24 · 13/06/2013 16:18

I gave it a go and I did want to like it but in the end the violence and endless, rather joyless, shagging did for me. Interesting that the sheriff is from NZ, thanks for that little nugget of info.

SlatternismyMiddlename · 13/06/2013 19:08

Twllbach - I too am a fan of both programmes and get what you mean. I loved the bit when Job was frustrated at Sugar's lack of computer awareness - 1 million Chinese just waiting to hack you - or something to that affect.

Aoife24 - the episode that was just on was far superior and the shagging was definitely not soulless. Smile

Well, that was an episode! Realy looking forward to seeing what will happen next. Kinda wish I was watching it on a box set, its the kind of show I would like to watch in a marathon session.

SlatternismyMiddlename · 17/06/2013 23:22

Ohh, I have recorded it. I will watch it tomorrow and report in for duty thereafter.

I fail to see how there could be any kind of happyish ending here...

I still like the general plot line, but the sustained fighting was a bit Hmm. Nobody, man or woman, trained or untrained, would've still been standing after the first few blows/falls/bumps to head.
And, yeah, if the love of your life was alone with a thug (handcuffed or not) who clearly had strong feelings towards her (feelings, good and bad), you'd leave them to it and give somebody you'd shagged a lift. How did Rebecca turn up at his place anyway? Nope, I felt the long fighting was a bit of a time filler rather than adding anything to the narrative arch.

Oh, and where did the Chief's daughter suddenly turn up from? Happy family there too methinks - not.

Cooroo · 18/06/2013 22:56

Well, he wasn't shagging Chief's daughter by end of episode so I lost my bet.

Had to laugh as everyone was getting on with their lives and meanwhile... Carrie and Oleg fighting... Kai drives out to the farm ... Carrie and Oleg fighting... Come on, that was NOT believable. And what a mess they made of his room!

SlatternismyMiddlename · 19/06/2013 08:23

I quite enjoyed the episode as it was a change of pace from the emotion of the one before. Also the episode was virtually nothing to do with Lucas, it was all about Ana's old life and new life, with a little bit of Procter thrown in.

As much a I fully appreciate all moments of Lucas Hood on screen I enjoyed the change around of making someone else the main focus.

TwllBach · 22/06/2013 14:29

I thought that was a really smart episode Grin I really enjoyed seeing a woman fighting like that, if that makes sense. Yes it was violent and gory and probably a bit ott but by god she beat that fucker.

I also like how, even though her husband is a marine, she isn't the little lady at home. She knows how to take care of herself and there's never a hint of her relying on someone else. Not once during that fight did she appear to be waiting for Lucas to come back, or for leniency because of her sex.

I think she is one of my favourite female characters on tv at the moment actually.

TwllBach · 25/06/2013 23:15

I'm going to be sad when it comes to an end Sad I thought it was another good episode tonight.

PacificDogwood · 01/07/2013 23:12

AIBU to just have LOL when they shot the bazooka the wrong way?

It's gone from the ridiculous to the sublime. Still highly entertaining.
And I still love Job/Joe Grin

buzzgirly · 06/07/2013 08:13

I know I'm a bit late, but Monday's finale was great! I loved that it was Carrie leading the fight for Hood.

Sob - no more Hood for a few months. WinkWinkWink

TwllBach · 06/07/2013 17:15

I loved the finale Grin and I am a HUGE fan of Carrie/Anna. I love that she is a woman but also the strong character that she is. She doesn't take any shit.

Is there another series do we know?

I love Hood Blush

anonacfr · 11/07/2013 22:40

There's definitely a follow up series planned.

Oblomov · 16/07/2013 12:56

Bit late to the thread, but dh and i did enjoy watching it.

SlatternismyMiddlename · 18/07/2013 11:05

I'm just back from holiday - my sky plus managed to record the last in the series (but not criminal minds). I will watch it tonight.

I have not read any of the more up to date post in case of spoilers.

See you later.

SlatternismyMiddlename · 23/07/2013 22:18

Wow! A much better episode than I was worried it would be. At the end of the one before when Hood was in the station and we heard the guns being cocked I thought it would be a 'shoot em up' style episode. It was so much more.

I thought it was a measured episode that didnt let the pace run away with itself. And of course set itself up nicely for the next series.

I can't wait.

OP posts:
anonacfr · 24/07/2013 12:38

I agree. At the beginning of the show I was quite shocked by the crudeness of the sex and violence scenes but I think the series has really grown and I find myself quite attached to the characters now.

I want to see what happens next!

SlatternismyMiddlename · 24/07/2013 15:13

I agree anonacfr, it would be easy to tune in to an episode, see a fairly gratuitous sex/fight scene and dismiss the whole series.

Personally I can't wait to see what happens with Kai and Rebecca. I don't think it is automatic Carrie and Lucas will be together. There was definitely something between Lucas and Theresa.
