I'm sorry but does anyone else just piss themselves during the trailer when Eve Whatserface says "I need a man as strong as I am" and the man says "where on earth will you find one of those?"
Cringeworthy cliche central...

I agree and has put me off watching this, Frankie seems highly irritating to me, although I think she's supposed to be a strong, feisty woman who you'll love - no just annoying!

PseudoBadger · 14/05/2013 20:30

Oh good not just me then!

Turned it off. Mainly because the sat is affected by the rain, but it looked a bit naff even when pixelated

iliketea · 14/05/2013 21:19

I'm.watching for educational purposes only (so I know what patients / relatives are talking about when they call.me Frankie or form an opinion on community nurses based on it).

Actually the carer / elderly father / ill husband story is pretty realistic wrt to the anxieties and getting to.breaking.point.

HandMini · 14/05/2013 21:38

It's super-naff. Six thousand shots of her pulling into and out of traffic in her nice red Giulietta as far as I can tell....

iliketea · 14/05/2013 21:39

And the last 10mins were a pile of shite!

GeorginaWorsley · 14/05/2013 21:51

Absolutely rubbish and annoying.
Am a nurse myself ,like to think I go the extra mile but seriously???Are thereno other nurses in Bristol or wherever it is supposed to be?

cerealqueen · 14/05/2013 21:54

Totally unbelievable and gives people unrealistic expectations of the nhs. (same way bloody Peak Practice did) She needs to get a life as sainthood is very unbecoming.

PseudoBadger · 14/05/2013 21:57

:o

Just caught the last few mins, so can't really comment on the program, but really, REALLY would like to know where that red dress is from!

MrsPresley · 14/05/2013 22:06

Looks like I'm the only one who enjoyed it then Grin

Not the best drama I've ever seen but I thought it was ok.

Horsemad · 14/05/2013 22:06

Loved that dress. Grin

Very far fetched, I fancy the male nurse, and what has the pg mum been in please?

Horsemad · 14/05/2013 22:07

I enjoyed it but it was far fetched.

ExitPursuedByABear · 14/05/2013 22:08

Very lightweight. Sunday evening at 8 stuff

LottieJenkins · 14/05/2013 22:09

I enjoyed it but the end was highly.......Hmm He goes on about how much he loves her then shags her work coleague when he was going to propose to her............

PacificDogwood · 14/05/2013 22:10

Great red dress, great hair.

Liked the dementia story line.

But wtf was a community nurse doing at the bedside of a labouring woman?? Who was in hospital? In a maternity unit? Full of, you know, midiwves. Stupid, stupid crap.

Reminds me of Peak Practice (remember that?) when the GPs always loitered about hospitals to check in with their patients Hmm - not sure how I'd fit that in with 12 hr days at the coal face

Nope, Frankie did not have the feelgood factor for me Grin

MrsPresley · 14/05/2013 22:10

ExitPursuedByABear I think that's what I liked about it, nice and easy watching and I didn't have to think about any story line Grin

Horsemad · 14/05/2013 22:31

Yep, it was written by same writer as Peak Practice & I always laughed at how the GPs were so involved in their patient's lives!!

PacificDogwood · 14/05/2013 22:33

Was is really the same writer as PP??

Gosh, I am good Grin

PacificDogwood · 14/05/2013 22:33

Was it, it, it... sorry

Songbird · 14/05/2013 22:34

It wasn't great but i think she was at the birth in the absence of the father, so a birth partner rather than an ill-placed nurse!

Songbird · 14/05/2013 22:35

I don't watch neighbours any more but remember Karl Kennedy was just the same. Oh, and Dr Hibbert in The Simpsons Grin

Horsemad · 14/05/2013 22:36

Yes PacificDogwood Smile

BoffinMum · 14/05/2013 22:38

It was interesting bollocks really, wasn't it?

Dumpylump · 14/05/2013 22:40

I quite enjoyed it Blush but she was a bit like any soap Dr who is available 24 hours a day, does home visits, operates in the hospital, delivers babies, and knows all their patients, their families, and their life stories!
I also thought that Dean Lennox Kelly has scrubbed up well since Shameless Grin
