I'm sorry but does anyone else just piss themselves during the trailer when Eve Whatserface says "I need a man as strong as I am" and the man says "where on earth will you find one of those?"
Cringeworthy cliche central...

oh he was from shameless?
the boyfriend? or the nurse?

SpanishFly · 16/05/2013 19:29

Boyfriend was from shameless.
Scottish male nurse from the Book Group

VenusStarr · 16/05/2013 19:35

Scottish make nurse was also in No Angels I think?

Songbird · 16/05/2013 19:35

(hijack alert) lirael are you named after the Garth Nix book?

MrsMaryCooper · 16/05/2013 19:44

I didn't like it and switched off after 15 minutes. Frankie and the boyfriend just reminded me of when the actress played Gwen in Torchwood and was always rushing off to save the world and leaving the boyfriend high and dry.

Granted on those occasions she was actually saving the world.

I didn't watch because I've been visited daily by DNs for the last five weeks and now weekly. I just thought I've had enough of it and dont need to watch it on telly too but now I know that Dean Lennox-Kelly is in it I might have a look.

DNs have been great btw but the reality (ime) is that you get to know one or two, you hardly ever see the same nurse two days in a row, they are extremely busy and can't give you an exact time each day, although mine phone half an hour ahead, they can't generally do more than one visit a day and their skills and experience are varied. It is a great service but not some fluffy wuffy babysitting, hand holding service.

lirael · 17/05/2013 22:14

Songbird - yes!

miffybun73 · 18/05/2013 14:31

Rubbish, but quite enjoyable rubbish.

ggirl · 19/05/2013 18:11

Davros, would be excellent if we had the time she had , but I fear the reality of the job wouldn't make good viewing.

MunchkinsMumof2 · 20/05/2013 14:34

I quite enjoyed it Blush I can't believe that Ian would jump into bed with Frankie's colleague just because she missed her 'surprise' party.....a lot of it was far fetched but sometimes mindless crap hits the spot Wink

Ellenora5 · 20/05/2013 23:56

I'm keeping an open mind until this weeks episode, but I'm not loving her at all, does she think she is some kind of superwoman, and it's obvious male nurse fancies the knickers of her, couldn't understand her fella hopping into bed with someone else when a couple of hours before hand he was going to propose

Sugarice · 21/05/2013 16:06

She's annoying and so is Gemma Redgrave , can't see there being a second series at this rate.

Horsemad · 21/05/2013 22:05

Thoughts on this weeks episode? I liked the Golden Retriever who belonged to the couple who had MND & cardiac probs.

That was about it Grin

XBenedict · 21/05/2013 22:06

I missed last weeks but it wasn't difficult to pick up the story! I quite enjoyed it Blush

ExitPursuedByABear · 21/05/2013 22:08

Better than last week.

Horsemad · 21/05/2013 22:08

Yep, this week's was better.

Southeastdweller · 21/05/2013 22:08

Still unsure about catching up with this...but I love Bristol so much - are there lots of nice Bristol location scenes? Or is it one of those shows where they've filmed it so it could be any of several U.K cities?

SpanishFly · 21/05/2013 22:09

I find it so irritating that the writers are wanting us to think she's hilarious/wacky etc. It's being forced on us so much, and just makes her more annoying than she would have otherwise been.

OrangeFireandGoldashes · 22/05/2013 11:31

The bit where she was motormouthing away at her colleague in the gym had me on the verge of throwing stuff at the TV.

I'm still watching because I had a bit of a love/hate relationship with the Gwen character in Torchwood. Eve Myles is one of those actresses where I think "ooh, Eve Myles, she's usually good" and then when I start watching I remember how much she annoys me - although how much of that is because she usually plays parts like this (and Gwen) where you're very aware that the writer is essentially saying "she's great, isn't she? Look at how great and kooky and wacky and compassionate and persuasive she is? She's practically Superwoman! Don't you wish you were as great as she is?" which, me being a contrary bitch, immediately makes me hate said character.

Gorgeous Golden Retriever though.

Horsemad · 22/05/2013 11:51

Her character reminds me of Charlotte Church for some reason - think it's the talking non stop, the hyperactivity and the Welsh accent!

ExitPursuedByABear · 22/05/2013 12:35

Dog was lovely I agree.

Davros · 22/05/2013 16:55

Maybe I will watch for the dog Grin

MoaningMingeWhingesAgain · 22/05/2013 22:37

I am really enjoying it Blush I love a bit of a medical nonsense telly. I'm a nurse, not community, it's not realistic in lots of ways but I still like it.

Love the Scottish male nurse too fwoarrr Boyfriend is pretty but too much of a bellend

Can anyone tell me the name of the song on Frankie this week that the couple listened to before the woman died?
