Why was everyone super witty today? The Wham pun in particular, but the Smiths references as well. Do people really talk like that? Sounded v fake to me!

The Smiths thing had us in stitches. My DH said "sad times, you and creepy Paul both love Morrissey" and laughed

LineRunner, I agree, Tommy is a sweetie and he's had the worst luck ever since he set foot on the street - give the poor lad a break now and let him and Tina go off into the sunset.

I'm glad T and Tommy are back together. I like Jake for the baby but don't like the way Izzy says it!

Tina is getting a bit too attached isn't she? Wanting to be with him all the time, I know she would have a connection as she carrie him gave birth but then I think she should take a step back. Maybe it'd be different if he wasn't prem?

I do like the friendship between Dev, Steve and Lloyd though, it's quite understated but sweet.

Not a fan of Jake I'm afraid, and agree, it's even worse when Izzy says it. But then, anything sounds moany when she speaks.

I don't mind the name Jake but I wish they'd use some new names on the street instead of recycling the old ones.

We already have a Jack on the street and Kevin's other son (the one that died) was called Jake.

The poor lad has worse things to worry about than his name, having Gary as a dad is top of my list! Not to mention that nasty piece of work Faye as his aunty.

So what did Craig see/know about the fire? I watched the fire episodes but don't remember his part in anything?! But I do have a crap memory!!

Sense I am with you on faye as an aunty, eugh! And what is happening with her and her dad??! They seem to be jumping between and forgetting storylines they have started!

So are all of our guesses starting to happen - the baby will need a transfusion and it'll be found it can't be Izzy and Gary's. And someone will provide that vital bit of evidence that will implicate Karl. Pleeeeease writers.

I don't remember anything with Craig and the fire either. I'm amazed, given the quality of writing at the moment, that he wasn't in a scene with a big signpost screaming 'look at me witnessing something that will clear Sunitta's name'.

I think they have shoved the Craig storyline in as an after thought, wasn't Beth saying a while ago that he wasn't feeling well and was off his food, so maybe that was the beginning of it, or else they just haven't thought how Carl would be caught, and finally Dev has realised that the pub keys were not in Sunitas possession when she was admitted to hospital.

So sick of Rob and Tracey, I think it's time to wave bye bye to them for good

i think Craig was walking down the street eating...and someone possibly Carl pushed past him? which would break his alibi.

I know we have mentioned this before but what I don't understand is why Paul didn't notice the smell of smoke on Karl when he came back into the Bistro? Craig definitely knows something, I wonder if there is part of a scene with him that we didn't notice?

And poor Craig (never thought I'd say that), listening to Carl mouthing on about killing someone to get out of a nasty situation - no wonder he's off his food and scared to say!!

Maybe someone will look at some photos of the Full Monty night and realise that Karl isn't in some of the photos or something? I'm pleased the big reveal is on its way at last.

I think they'll look at CCTV footage of Karl putting the keys in her nightstand.

whatkungfu, I expect Paul was so busy smelling his own trouser smell that he couldn't smell Carl.

I find Izzie's right eyebrow rather frightening.

Ellenora5 yes, I agree -there was probably a Kev or Ken story line up, but they have had to rapidly re-write, and would be good to get thos out of the way, Karl kiboshed, and no more Dev dialogue.
Also, as is so often the way with Corrie, chave character ( in this case Beth & Craig) come good, like the Battersbys, Kylie etc.
I'd like to see Craigto be in a good light - poor fat kid, poor start in life etc. Interestingly, in this episode, saw the start of this with Beth (also being rehabilitated ) actually referring to his school work , so he will be like Tyrone, nice kid.

When did the rat escape and turn up in the pub? Was that around the time of the fire?
