The old thread is nearly full. Nice new shiny thread here.

Why is Michelle dressed like a St Trinians schoolgirl? Confused

Jacaqueen · 30/05/2013 21:25

Why is Tina still in hospital? I was chucked out 6 hours after giving birth and I was taking the baby home with me.

whatkungfuthat · 30/05/2013 21:52

They said something about raised blood pressure. I notice she has been given the usual soap private room

Bakingnovice · 30/05/2013 22:10

And on the issue of repeat story lines I wish corrie would stop blowing all the buildings up. I mean for fifty odd years the building were in tact and in the last two years alone we've had the factory blown up, the tram destroying the bistro and shops, and now the rovers. It's getting dull.

And the same story over and over for Mary: Mary falls for Norris. Gets creepy. He rejects her. Mary falls for Roy. Gets creepy. He rejects her. Mary falls for dev ....

It was funny the first time.

lillybloom · 30/05/2013 22:30

Is it me or do they scenes with Sally and "the girls" look strange? It looks like they are add in to fill up the Kevin size hole in the script. Tonights episode had a lot of single character, shoulders up scenes.

ajandjjmum · 31/05/2013 07:14

TBF with Kev and Ken disappearing, it must be a bit of a nightmare for the writers/production team/continuity.

ChocsAwayInMyGob · 31/05/2013 10:18

Remember when Mike Baldwin ran the factory?! Just had a random flashback!

Yes Smile it was great. He'd come out of his office in a kipper tie, slag everyone off to their face and then drink a big Scotch. He would SO be taken to a tribunal today!

whatkungfuthat · 31/05/2013 13:01

Mike Baldwin and Mike out of the Young Ones are two people who could go on the 'never seen together' thread Grin

Footface · 31/05/2013 13:38

I think the girls scene, doesn't work because Jenna is quiet a bad actor and they don't seem right as a couple. Unlike Sophie and Sian.

whatkungfuthat · 31/05/2013 14:00

Jenna looks like Sophie's mum and the character has zero warmth. I would have liked to have seen Sophie hook up with someone young and hip, she is too serious

Lighthousekeeping · 31/05/2013 16:34

It won't happen though unless she starts going out in Manchester. I don't think the chances of Jessie J going into the corner shop are very high. Jenna is appalling. As if a highly qualified physio would end up on the cobbles doing nowt.

Is Tina's baby, Tina and Gary or izzy and Gary's

pegwin · 31/05/2013 17:24

Izzy and Gary. although legally afaik Tina's which is why legally Gary has rights Izzy does not.

I think in surrogacy the mother normally adopts.

not sure tho thus was based on stuff i saw years ago might have bn U.S. and anyway what am I thinking, this id a soap reality does not matter Hmm

CatherineofMumbles · 31/05/2013 17:25

Footface indeed, I am also finding this confusing. What is the etiquette in this situation [puzzled]. Presumably, while in the hospital, before the birth is registered, Tina takes precedence? What is the rule about fathers? And what is the rule about the real/genetic mother, ie, Izzy??? Surely tho' Izzy cannot lay down the law with Gary, why is she acting like he has no rights?

CatherineofMumbles · 31/05/2013 17:28

Pegwin thanks, yes, makes sense, sorry cross-posted. you'd think they would have figured out the legal side, tho' and Izzy would be in no position to lay down the law with Gary.

Sleepyfergus · 31/05/2013 19:37

Types a big post and lost it. Grrrr.

Anyhoo, I've finally caught up with Corrie from the last few days. Agree with all of your wise comments and observations fellow Corrie fans. The Tina/Gary/Izzy/baby storyline is hideous. As hideous as Gary who (for the umpteenth time) makes my skin crawl.

Just how thick is Rob? When he first turned up he seemed a but fun, but its become all very tedious and ridiculous. As per the previous thread, I still think he looks like an Easter Island head statue thingy. Check this out www.livescience.com/24021-easter-island-rapa-nui.html.

And I so hope our Tracey-luv gets her comeuppance. There's a face I would never tire of slapping

And yes! I too noticed Michelle's head prefect look from last night. What's that about?! Has she been taking style tips from our Amy??

OP posts:
CatherineofMumbles · 31/05/2013 19:39

Sleepyfergus yes! re Easter Island statues Grin

sensesworkingovertime · 31/05/2013 20:09

frisky and sleepy, this may be a look that's creeping in, I noticed
Carol Vorderman hosting Loose Women today with a black and white nun/matron look, not schoolgirl but still a uniform thing going on.

And Sleepy, I get you, but please could we take turns slapping Tracy-luv? Boy do I want to wipe that smirk off her face.....

SweetestThing · 31/05/2013 20:24

Speaking of Amy, when was the last time we saw her? Has she disappeared up to her room to play tapes, like Tracey-luv did for years at a time?

SoleSource · 31/05/2013 21:07

How many Corrie episodes tonight?

I think I missef it last night???

FannyMcNally · 31/05/2013 21:31

Presumably Ken slept through all that racket? I missed his usual disappointed 'Oh Tracey...'

Sleepyfergus · 31/05/2013 21:33

Ah, Amy will be at 'Happy Daze' crèche run by Emily along with all the other waifs and strays abandoned at a moments notice by their parents so they can go for a drink with their never ending wage packets.

Except for Aldi & Lidl who are being looked after by Mary Poppins

Fergus roarrr

pegwin · 31/05/2013 23:06

ooh ooh I've just got it. as per post above, Izzeh has no parental rights as yet. they reside with T. so if she wants them they will need to do pat and mat Dna tests at which point they find out the baby belongs to T and Tommy who will by than be conviently back together whilst G and I have been making themselves look like parents from hell. all wrapped and a happy ending.

maybe the SW have been doing their surrogacy 101 after all....
