Watched it last night. Tis good, but disturbing. Gillian Anderson very good. Jamie Dornan scary. Anyone else see it?

AitchTwo do you know where G A's blouses/ shirts come from please?

Does anyone else notice that Jamie Dornan's character doesn't actually say much? And his wife is the same, too. She wouldn't be any use to me if I were in that poor young mum's place in hospital. She reminds me of that EastEnders actress with the moon face and poppy eyes. She's not a good enough actress to emote without speaking and they're just not giving her anything to say.

Also, their little girl... I assume at some point she'll ask her mum why her dad is up in the loft all the damn time - why hasn't she said so yet? And why didn't she mention his fight with the babysitter?

When Jamie Dornan has to speak to anyone he doesn't appear under any stress at all, which would indicate he's a psychopath who knows exactly what he wants to do, rather than someone reacting to his situation. Given that, then, wouldn't he be a bit more likeable and friendly? Even if it hit a false note, you would think he would try. I understood the bit at work (when he was so annoying, imitating his colleague) that he felt superior to him, but surely that should be shown in other ways?

Will GA follow up on the rape /strangeled story? The woman told her, that the man was at she was at Belfast Uni, aged 23, studying literature... can't be that hard to trace down the males on that course and who still lives in Belfast.
GA already stated that he shows knowledeg of the legal system. Lets hope she follows this up and it is fruitfull.

ImperialBlether · 09/06/2013 16:59

But having been on MN for a couple of years, it seems attempted strangulation isn't that unusual. It would be too much of a coincidence if the man she's talking about is actually the killer.

Oblomov · 09/06/2013 17:44

oh, I thought it was supposed to be him.
Like a previous poster said, bit of a coincidence that photgrapher, tells GA it is a friend of hers, over whisky at the bar.

hollyisalovelyname · 09/06/2013 18:23

Ah but Belfast is small. Grin

I'm in northern Ireland and can get RTE, decided to watch the last one tonight and it's been blocked! Bloody spoilsports Angry

HappyHugs · 09/06/2013 22:13

Watching the final episode on RTE at the moment (am in Belfast but have a Saorview box). Its all going a bit awry....

GColdtimer · 09/06/2013 22:15

Do you think he could break down and confess to someone. Otherwise I can't see how it can all get tied up. After all, he lost all control over last murders. Or he could go after the babysitter and get caught in the act. Just can't see them carrying this story on.

wintera · 09/06/2013 22:24

I agree I think it just has to follow into the next series. Can't see it being resolved in an hour there's too much to tie up as you say.

ChablisLover · 09/06/2013 22:25

Coco - I'm watching it in ni on rte on free view channel 800.

Is it blocked on sky?

cocolepew · 09/06/2013 22:26

Yes it was sky I was trying to watch it on. I'll just have to wait until tomorrow now.

HappyHugs · 09/06/2013 22:40

Potential spoiler alert -

The final episodec is not the end...

fuckingscabies · 09/06/2013 22:51

HAPPY! That was enough of a spoiler alert.

Harrumph.

Not coming back until this time tomorrow.

PartTimePunk · 09/06/2013 23:52

No spoilers - just watched this on RTE, and this late gatecrasher to the thread can't wait to hear what the UK based people make of the final episode.

onedev · 10/06/2013 00:07

Can't wait - love this show!

MrsBertMacklin · 10/06/2013 10:34

Happy, I've not been clicking into this thread for fear of spoilers, but your giveaway in the first line of your post has showed up in my 'Threads I'm On', thanks for that! Hmm

I would be grateful if anyone who watched it last night could put LOTS of text and carriage returns before discussing specifics for the rest of us due to watch tonight. Or maybe wait until we've all watched and can discuss together?

Noseynoonoo · 10/06/2013 11:57

I watched the first episode and opted to not watch anymore because I don't like watching women being attacked. However, I am tempted to watch the denouement. Would it be worth watching having missed the remaining episodes and is it likely to involve more women being attacked?

AitchTwoOhOneTwo · 10/06/2013 12:40

i don't get that cubitt piece at all, tbh. does he really think he's drawing these female victims well? they seem like identikit brunettes to me. interesting discussion below the piece as well, broadly going the same way as here.

ImperialBlether · 10/06/2013 13:19

It spoiled it for me too, Happy. Why did you do that?

hollyisalovelyname · 10/06/2013 14:49

Really looking forward to a discussion tomorrow. No spoiler from me Smile. 'Enjoy' the programme tonight.

FairPhyllis · 10/06/2013 16:38

Happy that showed up in my Threads I'm On too.

wigglesrock · 10/06/2013 17:03

See I don't get how happy gave anything away Confused Unless I'm missing a different thread?

The series has been recommissioned, it's only an hour long. Really the PSNI are nowhere near getting him - did anyone honestly think it would be wrapped up?

shugfish · 10/06/2013 17:29

So excited about tonight, really hope it won't be left at a cliffhanger and manage to resolve some of the outstanding issues
Have Waitrose 2 for 10 meal especially obviously don't get out much

Moln · 10/06/2013 19:45

I'm very impatiently waiting for all BBC veiwers to be able to discuss the last episode!!!
