can anyone explain the running order that Channel 4 uses for Frazier? it's my guilty pleasure, especially as I didn't watch it first time around. anyway, last week Niles and Daphne had just got together. this morning I settle down with a coffee, and realize I'm watching the final episode, and Niles and Daphne have a baby. it looks as though I'll just have to get the boxed set.

has anyone made the transition from Frazier to The Boss? I tried one episode bought couldn't stand seeing Kelsey Grammer in the role

Kelsey grammer IS Frasier and Frasier ONLY. refuse to wacth him in anything else.

was just saying on another thread that peter davisons always Tristan Farnan to me, not the Doctor.!

Pan · 19/04/2013 20:01

marj I'm with you on that! I know KG from Cheers and Frazier. They are cherished memories NOT to be besmirched by....change!Grin

montage · 19/04/2013 20:35

I had a massive crush on Tristan Farnon as a child! he has never really aged in my head so I find it hard to get my head around him being David Tennant's FIL. Confused

Whenever I see Friends after Frasier I think Thank God the Frasier folk changed their minds and let Lisa Kudrow go. I love Peri Gilpin and seriously can't imagine Lisa Kudrow in that part.

marjproops · 19/04/2013 20:46

wow didnt know LK was up for that part.

no, def Peri gilpin.

Pan · 19/04/2013 21:03
Shock
Pan · 19/04/2013 21:06

I luuuurve Peri. Lisa Kudrow? Nope.

Abra1d · 19/04/2013 21:08

Frasier is one of the best TV comedies ever. I could watch it again and again and again. Sometimes when we've had a hard week we sit down and just wallow in it.

chocmallow · 19/04/2013 21:18

Absolutely love Frasier - very clever writing and the characters are just genius!!

The ski lodge one with Ge (?spelling) and Daphne's friend is just brilliant :-) There are so many laugh out loud moments but it can also be so moving especially watching the relationship between Martin and the boys develop over the seasons.

marjproops · 19/04/2013 21:23

choc yes, the one where they thought Martin had had an affair and it was his wife that had and he was trying to hide that fact from the boys. that was moving.
and the one where Niles went to England to get daphnes dad. and the episode after that.

Pan · 19/04/2013 21:26

and when Niles dressed up as Martin for Fraziers' 'hero' night. Biting.

marjproops · 19/04/2013 21:30

oh yes that one too, pan. loved Niles impersonating Martin.

and the one with Bulldog babysitting Alice.

montage · 19/04/2013 21:39

I love the one where Frasier tries to set his new boss up with Daphne, but he fancies Frasier. I thought it was their best-done farce.

I also love the full-on song Frasier composes when he has to do a jingle. Some of the rhymes in it are extraordinary!

Always found the episodes where Frasier/Martin tried to shield Niles from his then unrequited love for Daphne quite sad, especially when she first gets engaged. Probably because of DHP's acting.

Pan · 19/04/2013 21:48

And DH's professionalism as a gay actor. Like so many hetro-but-gay icons of Hollywood. But here it wasn't just 90mins of filming as a one-off, it was years of application to task.

chocmallow · 19/04/2013 21:55

I loved the episode when Frasier told Daphne about Niles being in love with her when she was giving him a massage while he was delirious.

The friendship between Ros and Frasier is also a great slow growing relationship. When Frasier is dating the horrible Julia and she nearly chokes while playing charades relationships a nobody moves a muscle to help..... oh I could go on all night!!!!

chocmallow · 19/04/2013 21:57

*on phone don't know what happened there!!

montage · 19/04/2013 22:00

He is a wonderful actor Pan.Has he just returned to theatre work now? I've only ever seen him in one other film.

Pan · 19/04/2013 22:01

I missed the episode where F and Roz slept togther! I recall the nearly bit when F was unshaven and Roz wore a wig, but were interupted by Kenny. But the sex thing, no.

Pan · 19/04/2013 22:03

yes he has gone to theatre. I saw him in a film too, and thought nooooo, it's Niles doing something else. It's so wrong.

montage · 19/04/2013 22:09

I couldn't watch him properly in the film either. I would love to see him and a lot of the tv actors I admire on the stage though. The benefits of living in NYC I guess!

The episode in the aftermath of Frasier and Roz sleeping together is quite sweet.

(and Niles to Roz when he eventaully finds out: "When the wolf and the lamb work together, I suppose the wolf will eventually get its way. I hope you were gentle with him.")

Shylepite · 20/04/2013 02:09

I'm properly giggling to myself reading this and remembering the pure comedy genius of that show. The episode with Kenny's parents - anyone who knows you knows you're nosier had me struggling to breathe! Grin

lollilou · 20/04/2013 15:41

Dh says they never show the episodes in order so that we will go out and buy the box set.
What happens in the last episode of Frasier? I don't think I've ever seen it and I was thinking the other day wouldn't it be lovely if Roz and Frasier got together. They don't do they? [hopeful face]

marjproops · 20/04/2013 17:34

Oh yes, the ROZ and the SHZNOSH episode/

Quiche her? I hardly know her!

I liked the one too where the brill David Ogden Stiers, and Martin thought he might be the boys father. and at the end Leland telling him hes gay, and when Martin looks proudly at his boys singing at the piano singing 'tit willow'!!

NoHank · 20/04/2013 20:09

Oh this has brought back so many happy memories.

I adore Frasier, I still think it is the best show out there.

Favourite moments for me - definitely Niles with the ironing board, I cried with laughter when I first saw it.

And the episode where Freddie came to stay at Christmas and Frasier and Niles are last minute shopping for him. Niles puts that helmet on with the flashing lights and squirting water.

N. "I wonder what else it does!"
F. "Lets see if it protects your head" wallop

And I think the funniest relationship was between Roz and Niles, I just loved watching them sparring

Comedy gold, all of it

marjproops · 20/04/2013 20:38

Oh my stars, we are ALL forgetting the other star of the show.......

EDDIE!!
