Just over 57 hours to go...

I really can't wait. In fact, I'm going to nc in a bit to honour the return of Tyrion, Robb, Jon Snow, Brienne and Arya.

Anyone else practically wetting themselves in excitment?

OP posts:
ILovePonyo · 01/04/2013 22:32

Ha! Unsullied Grin (can't think of a good comeback, am feeling a bit meek)

I really liked tywin in his scenes with arya, not so much tonight.

Ygritte, that's her name, I forgot Blush

UnsulliedTrampyPants · 01/04/2013 22:33

I LOVE Charles Dance anyway, my heart broke for poor Tyrion though.

Is anyone else struggling to warm to Shae, knowing what she does?

UnsulliedTrampyPants · 01/04/2013 22:35

I Love, Grin
I loved Tywin with Arya too, DH and I were discussing whether he knew who she was. He definitely suspected she was someone. I preferred her serving Tywin than the Mountain.

ILovePonyo · 01/04/2013 22:40

I felt like he knew who arya was, but wouldn't be able to kill her so enjoyed we company iykwim.

I liked shae but I read the books after watching series 2, I got impatient and couldn't wait for this new series! So I really liked her until I found out what happened. I think she's played really well too by the actress.

From my geeky Internet research, Brienne used to be a gymnast and was put forward for the part before the tv series was planned, by GoT nerds who had read about the part Smile

ILovePonyo · 01/04/2013 22:41

HER company not we Hmm

QueenofWhispers · 01/04/2013 22:43

I hate Shae, I really like Ros though. Tyrion is my favorite though. I wish he'd ask me out on a date or something.

expatinscotland · 01/04/2013 22:47

Ros was Chelya in the books, IIRC, mother to Alayaya and madame of the brothe.

Jeyne Poole disappears until later in the books, and the only reference to where she's been is that she had been trained to please men.

UnsulliedTrampyPants · 01/04/2013 22:48

Ilove, me too. just a feeling.
wrt Brienne, she plays her so well, it must be quite a difficult role.

I like Ros too, I want to shake Sansa and tell her not to trust LittleFinger.

I got really excited when we saw the Giant. and Tormund. Am now sulking at having to wait a week again.

UnsulliedTrampyPants · 01/04/2013 22:49

Expat, that was it! I couldn't remember the name of the other girl. She's a sort of amalgamation isn't she?

ILovePonyo · 01/04/2013 23:01

Expat I'd forgotten all that, am going to have to read over books to refresh my memory.

Unsullied the giant was so good! Got very excited at that bit.

Am I right in thinking a lot of cgi budget was used up in the last series hence lack of dire wolves?

MrsJaqenHgar · 01/04/2013 23:09

Last deason's CGI budget was mostly spent on the battle of Blackwater Bay episode. All that wildfire didn't come cheap.

I'd almost forgotten how much I love Bronn. Never fails to surprise me as Robson and Jerome made me want to flay myself alive but Jerome Flynn absolutely kills it as Bronn. Love his exchanges with Tyrion.

Charles Dance is an incredible actor. He is truly terrifying and contemptible as Tywin. Poor Tyrion... That scene was heartbreaking.

cookielove · 01/04/2013 23:14

I LOVED IT Smile

People are talking about Reek, did i look away from the telly, cause i really did not see him??

AmazingDisgrace · 01/04/2013 23:28

I cannot bear Shae knowing what she does (read all the books) However I read them all about 2yrs ago and have forgotten lots (/other than the very very important thing)

QueenofWhispers · 01/04/2013 23:28

would it be wrong to rewatch the episode?

dothraki · 02/04/2013 00:29

as long as I don't have to watch the bit on the boat - it made me feel rather queasy [busmile]

MrsJaqenHgar · 02/04/2013 07:57

Like a true Dorhraki Grin

ValarMorGoolis · 02/04/2013 08:20

Grin Dothraki

Arya served Roose Bolton in the books, didn't she? His character seems similar to Tywin so I liked that adjustment, simplified things a bit. I like Tywin, he's fantastic.

Did I imagine it or did the half-dead Northman at Harrenhal say he was Qyburn? I can't remember how he gets introduced in the books.

There was no Ramsay/ Reek, only a mention last series that Roose was sending him to capture Theon. I must have missed it if he turned up this episode!

The Reek function was filled by the Ironman whose name I didn't catch for all of season 2. The one with the spear.

GhostOfTheRobot · 02/04/2013 08:30

Oooo, was so good!
Dragons (love that they sear their fish before eating), Giants (so cool) & freaky, demon-child assassin!

What was the scary little girl? Can any of you tell me?
Poor Jon Snow. He's always 'Ned Stark's Bastard' before he's even opened his mouth. He's due great things, I reckon. (not read the books)

I've really missed Tyrion. Peter Dinklage is awesome. The casting is so good on this.
Love Cersei's snipey comments about Margery's dress!

LittleAbruzzenBear · 02/04/2013 09:04

I have never seen this, you are all making it sound fab! When GoTs started, DH's friend put me off because he said 'oh, there's loads of tits in it, it's great'. So it put me off and I didn't even try series 1.

GhostOfTheRobot · 02/04/2013 09:07

Little, there is nudity but it's no Spartacus!
Try it! You won't be disappointed!

LittleAbruzzenBear · 02/04/2013 09:15

I might rent this from Lovefilm and catch up because it sounds brill. Smile

GhostOfTheRobot · 02/04/2013 09:18

It's brutal. Makes Lord of the rings look like Peppa Pig in comparison but once you get into it there's no going back!
Happy viewing!

ATJabberwocky · 02/04/2013 09:24

I've just finished watching the new episode, loved it!

I haven't read the books, but I get the feeling this series is going to feature Valoraes and her dragons more.

LittleAbruzzenBear · 02/04/2013 09:29

Grin at makes LoTR look like Peppa Pig!

GhostOfTheRobot · 02/04/2013 09:44

Well, I over simplified somewhat!
I love Lotr but you kind of know "everything's going to work out in the end" with GOT anything can happen!
