Just seen oxygen one

Wasn't that bad

'Blondes runs for cover'

Tho the stories and hallucinations were a bit ott

Can't decide if best bit was Charlie getting shot

Or ogling Monroe. He's cute !!!! :)

Another team Monroe member Grin

Charlie getting shot was awesome, pity she didn't stay down.

Finally caught up and prob the best episode so far !!!!! :)

Neither seemed very shocked to see mummy

Charlie whacking the guard with the grail was funny

Wish she would tie her hair back and stop gazing adoringly at uncle miles

Impressed with Rachel's (mum) fighting skills - very ruthless

Miles and Rachel's reunion/punch was funny - tho you would have thought she would be grateful for him coming to rescue her and her kids

So the M is for Monroe and miles

And the way miles withdrew his sword ......

'Blondes swoons'

Monroe is gorgeous !!!!

And he's the best actor out of the lot of them, don't you think?? Hi face actually shows emotion, while miles' face does 'slightly pissed off' and 'grave danger' and that's basically it.

I think Monroe did a brilliant job of making us believe that he really is a tad insane and that he missed his friend miles and woul have taken him back

Yeah, there is no doubting that Monroe is the best actor but then so would a dead haddock But even though he has just one expression, I'm still a Miles fan!

That was the best episode too! It's nice that they aren't wondering around America for endless episodes and we are actually cutting to the interesting bits Grin.

Mind you, the amplifier is useful and all, but won't the helicopters just crash the moment it flew out of range? Do they need to fly it round with them? If the range is too big, doesn't that just wake the enemy's stuff up too? how come all this electrical stuff still works after so long not in use?

I'm over thinking this, aren't I Hmm

I must have been drunk during that episode because I don't remember anything about it except for Rachel being threatened that either Charlie or the boy would be killed unless she co-operated with the amplifier thingy.

I'd down tools immediately if someone promised to off Charlie.

The other thing that's probably going to expose me as a moron is that I don't understand how cars don't work without electricity.

I know you have to have a battery and an ignition spark to get the whole thing going (I think).

But they invented that wind-up radio. In 15 years wouldn't someone have invented a wind-up car battery?

Knowing little about a subject never stops me talking about it.

TwllBach · 30/05/2013 14:49

limited I'm glad you asked that Grin I thought that cars ran on petrol/diesel and not electricity. Obviously your radio might not work but surely you could get the engine going??

Maybe your lights wouldn't work either...

Or maybe the cars did work for a while, but to get petrol/diesel you need electricity?

Report
Blondeshavemorefun · 30/05/2013 16:41

I did think that about cars in first episode - the way they just all stopped / they run on petrol etc not electricity

No air conditioning or power windows I suppose.

And if they don't have electricity how do the women have blow-dried and flicky hair?

Report
ShipwreckedAndComatose · 30/05/2013 17:39

I think you need sparks to keep igniting the petrol each turn of the pistons. Therefore, it doesn't work without electricity.

I can get that better that I can understand how an IPhone is still able to turn on after so long (good longevity advising!)

And I don't even want to think about how this device is supposed to have stopped all electricity in the first place. No electrons move at all? No static? What about thunder storms?

Again...with the over thinking Grin

True about the hair! Maybe they run around outside very fast...

Report
limitedperiodonly · 30/05/2013 19:01

So the electricity to start the engine comes from the battery that's charged when the engine is turning? shipwrecked?

So a wind-up battery could work, couldn't it?

Yes, I guess so!

I think we've been though this before. I'd be quite good at making dull meals out of tinned stuff.

I was in hospital recently so I have an impressive stockpile of painkillers. Basically, whenever they asked if I was in any pain I lied and said I was. I also have some sterile wound pads and miles of sticky tape that I liberated from the drawer in my private room. I didn't ask for that room. They just gave it to me.

Since I heard the other day that the Government was thinking of charging us £20 every time we want to see the GP I feel absolutely no shame at all.

I also want an nhs walking stick, a bench that goes across the bath and a wipe-clean, multi-purpose chair for washing and stuff to be taken into consideration.

Not sure how these things will help in a technological apocalypse. We're in the middle of an economic apocalypse and they're not that helpful.

Ok, I've been thinking about this (so sad) and the wind up battery thing won't work.

The device stops all electricity, so even if you wind it up, the electrons won't flow through the wires. So no wind up battery cars Sad

OK, I'm going to come right out and say it.

If the anti-energy field stops all energy as they suggest, how on earth has the world not crumbled to ash? Mass is energy energy is mass. Implausible that any device could dissipate energy as energy cannot be created or destroyed, it can merely change form.

If the device simply emits an electrical dampening field (Confused) then even that would kill almost all life forms, our hearts beat due to electrical impulses, our nervous systems rely on them, atmospheric processes centre around electrical fields, etc, etc, etc......

Life would not be possible with this device activated!

I've been holding that in since episode 1 Blush

Yes summer, it's been bothering me too.

I'm so glad to have met someone as technologically-aware as I am Wink

Not sure technologically aware is the right phrase but i'm 3 years into a science degree and a few facts have been repeated to me often enough to have permeated my dense skull Wink

You're talking to the person who got her vacuum cleaner going by giving it a poke. I don't think I'm going to be troubling the Nobel committee any time soon.

summer however... She should be careful. There've been societies that kill people who know things and elevate people who don't. I'm reminded of that every time I watch The Wright Stuff.
