I am watching as usual. Have come out of lurks-ville to join you on your quiet thread op!

TheBookofRuth · 20/03/2013 21:12

Both seem like nice couples so far.

DD was 9lb10oz at birth. No-one offered to "just get her out", despite my pleading!

IsabelleRinging · 20/03/2013 21:12

I'm watching, first couple seem nice this week. Love the midwives this series, especially like the one with glasses. Also loved that the older midwife was game enough to be in the comic relief Call the Midwife sketch last week. Brilliant!

BooCanary · 20/03/2013 21:12

Why is their toddler there? Is the mum going to go to delivery suite on her own?

ellesabe · 20/03/2013 21:13

Surprised to see a toddler there!

ellesabe · 20/03/2013 21:14

It looks like it! I'd have thought it might be a bit scary for her to see her mum in labour like that.

NotAQueef · 20/03/2013 21:14

Yes first couple have nice banter.
Feel sorry for 2nd man (crap at rememberingnp names) as he won't be there.
Comic relief call the midwife/obem sketch was v funny

Think toddler was there as they were still on day assessment unit not delivery

OP posts:
ellesabe · 20/03/2013 21:15

I didn't see the comic relief sketch. Anyone know where I can see it?

Figgygal · 20/03/2013 21:15

Again why is there a toddler there? Seems wrong somehow

NotAQueef · 20/03/2013 21:15

Are fewer people watching obem now? These threads used to be busy!

Sidenote: happy at lack of tombstone teeth this week. If we get a 3rd birth this week, bet it's a teen mum. Loads of them this series

DS1 was with us for the first half hour I was in hospital having DS2 - because my mam didn't quite understand the urgency of 'I am going to hospital NOW' and took an hour to scrape the ice off the car and drive the fifteen minute journey to collect him!

BarnYardCow · 20/03/2013 21:17

I'm late, been watching though!

NotAQueef · 20/03/2013 21:17

elles think comic relief is still on iplayer, but you can prob find the sketch on youtube if you don't want to fwd through the other bits

OP posts:
ellesabe · 20/03/2013 21:19

I just find it difficult to believe that there isn't ANYONE who can look after the toddler for them...

LeggoAcubunnyture · 20/03/2013 21:19

I'm watching it "live" for a change. Feel sorry for the American woman doing it alone.

Love the butlins couple.

Plumsofgold · 20/03/2013 21:20

Really ellesabe? There's lots of people in that position.

SoupDreggon · 20/03/2013 21:20

Not everyone has childcare on tap.

Pollykitten · 20/03/2013 21:21

Loving Yorkshireboy!

stargirl1701 · 20/03/2013 21:21

8 months?! Eh?

LeggoAcubunnyture · 20/03/2013 21:21

8 months!

SoupDreggon · 20/03/2013 21:22

Holy crap! 8 months between babies?!

NotAQueef · 20/03/2013 21:22

Hang on, 3rd couple, am confused how can you give brith and then be ready to deliver another eight months later?
