Hopefully I'll pick up some tips that'll save me £100 on a bread maker

Oh yes.

Mooshbag · 18/03/2013 20:42

Love the look of summer in a loaf

XBenedict · 18/03/2013 20:43

Ooooh yes! Loved that picnic loaf mmmmm

XBenedict · 18/03/2013 20:46

He uses a lot of salt in his recipes doesn't he?

Mooshbag · 18/03/2013 20:54

I was thinking the same about the salt...I'm guessing it's much less than shop bought sliced bread, but I could be wrong...

We're laughing at his recipes, sorry.
The modern version of medieval peasant food is just a bit silly.

rufussmum · 19/03/2013 07:51

It is just me or he is gorgeous? He can knead by baps anytime.

mrswimpeydimple · 19/03/2013 09:19

I recorded it and will watch later and not because I'm at all interesred in the breadWink

TunipTheVegedude · 19/03/2013 09:36

I don't think it's just you Rufussmum!

He's one of those men who I would fancy more if they didn't obviously know they were gorgeous.

Paul Hollywood is in trouble here today. Dh watched last night and PH used grease proof paper to stop the bread sticking. Our nice buns now have a layer of paper on...

Davros · 19/03/2013 14:07

There is a difference between grease proof and baking sheet. Don't ask me what but you need to get the latter I believe

Oodsigma · 19/03/2013 14:14

Ok. I didn't watch it will tell him!

rufussmum · 19/03/2013 17:48

I think it's called baking parchment - silicone-coated I think.

hugoagogo · 19/03/2013 19:41

Forget the salt, what's with all the olive oil? Shock

LIZS · 20/03/2013 08:02

Glad I'm not the only one who drooled ! Blush The food was kind of incidental (although interesting.

XBenedict · 20/03/2013 09:46

I'm going to make bread today and use the olive oil method Smile

sensesworkingovertime · 20/03/2013 16:05

My DH's sarcy comment was 'they have to keep showing him in slow motion so that they can fill half an hour on how to make bread' at which point I told him to shut up, get on his exercise bike and let me enjoy it.

Personally if I've gone to all that trouble to make a loaf ( which alas I don't because I don't have 30 hours in a day so mine's Kingsmill or whatever) then the last thing I'd want to do is mess about, scoop out the middle and dollop a load of veg in it. But each to their own

mrswimpeydimple · 21/03/2013 11:13

Watched it but sadly prefer him on the baking thing with Mary Berry. Couldn't help but think he'd over-baked the spay tan a bit!

Mooshbag · 22/03/2013 20:54

He's very easy on the eye Smile

DH bought me the accompanying book as a treat yesterday..... Recipes are brill, tried the soda bread and kids couldn't get enough of it. It also has non-bread recipes.... Would highly recommend cookery porn

XBenedict · 23/03/2013 20:30
