Hopefully I'll pick up some tips that'll save me £100 on a bread maker

I don't really like seeing him handling other food, it should be strictly baking products only. It's not right . I bet his nails are clean

Are you using a fan oven now?

Book £9.49 in Sainsburys !

I should give it a try by hand first..we need to sort out the temp on our oven though. My cakes keep burning.

The fire was very stressful, but we were very lucky in lots of ways (we weren't there) but it was so upsetting having to throw DD's toys away.

BoJo next...this should be good...

Maybe just a teensy bit orange jetstar

I really like the look of the pitta bread. I love nigella seeds.

Is it me or is Mr H a little orange?

Really feel for you Sad, get the book, handmade bread is so much nicer than from a bread maker (although very convenient for fresh bread first thing in the morning). We could have a bread off Grin

Thanks X. We're back on our feet now...and clutter free...

DP has just asked me if I'd like the book...I don't think he wants me to buy a breadmaker...

I also get a bit forlorn about my tiny kitchen with virtually no worktop space when I see lovely spacious tv kitchens with acres of worktops

I had so many cookery books before our fire...I had to stop myself from buying them.

I really shouldn't watch cooking programmes, they make me want to eat and buy books that I never get round to using.

DH bought me the accompanying book as a treat yesterday..... Recipes are brill, tried the soda bread and kids couldn't get enough of it. It also has non-bread recipes.... Would highly recommend cookery porn

Watched it but sadly prefer him on the baking thing with Mary Berry. Couldn't help but think he'd over-baked the spay tan a bit!

My DH's sarcy comment was 'they have to keep showing him in slow motion so that they can fill half an hour on how to make bread' at which point I told him to shut up, get on his exercise bike and let me enjoy it.

Personally if I've gone to all that trouble to make a loaf ( which alas I don't because I don't have 30 hours in a day so mine's Kingsmill or whatever) then the last thing I'd want to do is mess about, scoop out the middle and dollop a load of veg in it. But each to their own
