I have got the theme tune ringing around my head.

I love it. It is far more exciting than the english version imo. The challenges are a lot better.

It's a bit annoying in that in that exasperating 'let's recap what you have just seen in case you have forgotten' sense but it's good fun.

The judges are equally grouchy and matey (I do like a grumpy Australian man).

I don't watch but ALL my australian mates watch. It's like a cult.

PseudoBadger · 11/03/2013 13:57

I love it - please don't tell me I've missed a new series?

HobKnob · 11/03/2013 13:57

I always watch it when I see it's on.

I have a secret crush on the short fat Greek one Blush

GetOrf · 11/03/2013 13:57

'turn the heat up baby, we're on fire, come on, yeaaaah, COME ON'

I LOVE the short fat greek chap. He is 90% grouchy bastard, 10% sweetheart. George.

I am less keen on the one who looks like a German opera critic.

I record it - it's on every weekday on Watch, about halfway through.

I love the Masterchef NZ as well. Terrific accent.

My favourite show.

CiderwithBuda · 11/03/2013 14:02

We love it! My cousin is currently working for George. Front of house in his restaurant as far as I know.

Their junior Masterchef is amazing too. Unbelievable how good they are.

Never got into any of the other ones although a friend of a friend is on the current NZ one.

GetOrf · 11/03/2013 14:03

I really feel sorry for the people doing the elimination challenges where they have all the rest of the shouting instructions from the balcony.

I really hope that at some point someone rounds on them and shouts 'fuck OFF' which is sadly edited out.

I watched one yesterday where they did a 24 hours shift in a canteen serving a goldmine. Really interesting challenges.

There is a strange and tiresome woman on it who keeps going on about coming from Western Australia and 'making WA proud' . Is WA the Aus euquivalent of being a yokel then?

I like Jay (the young lad who looks like a fat Matt Damon). Or Sun (the ginger girl).

The only one on my Watch at the moment is NZ?

GetOrf · 11/03/2013 14:04

Your cousin works for George? Grin

I love him. I just want to nestle his head into my bosom.

OP posts:
GetOrf · 11/03/2013 14:05

It's on Watch at 7pm nightly.

I like the young lad who looks like Lisbeth Salander as well.

Ah xp - yes I've seen that series. Thank god I haven't missed a new one

HobKnob · 11/03/2013 14:05

German opera critic- is he the one who wears a bow tie and can never quite fasten his clothes?

HobKnob · 11/03/2013 14:06

No no, not bow tie- CRAVAT!

GetOrf · 11/03/2013 14:06

DON'T TELL ME WHO WINS!

Yes, bow ties. What is that accent? Posh aus?

OP posts:
PseudoBadger · 11/03/2013 14:07

I wouldn't get too fond of the theme tune. I miss it

PseudoBadger · 11/03/2013 14:08

Gary and Matt (cravat) are both from England.

GetOrf · 11/03/2013 14:17

Are they both English? Gary sounds australian!

OP posts:
PseudoBadger · 11/03/2013 14:18

GetOrf · 11/03/2013 14:19

OH and I were so obsessed we had to download the episodes to keep up with Aus. We would have a big binge on Friday night and watch a weeks worth. Am vegetarian ffs, not like I was collecting a useful new repertoire of recipes.

I genuinely lament that the theme tune was replaced with Katy Perry for the later seasons, I still sing the old one. If its still the 'down to the wire' caterwauling for the uk showing then I'm going to have to catch it again on Watch

Sallster · 11/03/2013 14:21

Matt was at Kent University with my Auntie. Apparently he came point to pointing with us once?!!

GetOrf · 11/03/2013 14:24

Yes to the 'down to the wire' caterwauling, you will have to watch it tonight.

Katy Perry? Shock

I would rather have the terrible Home and Away esque theme tune.

OP posts:
ChutesTooNarrow · 11/03/2013 14:32

I have stopped my son's viewing of Postman Pat to add it to the sky planner.

New theme tune is awkwardly edited version of Hot and Cold. Because, you know, food is hot. And cold. And yes and no too I guess.

GetOrf · 11/03/2013 14:54

Oh NO at Hot and Cold.

Do they still snap baguettes and pile up apples?
