Hi all. Shiny new thread.

She's going to struggle to cope emotionally without the support of friends and family.

She is crying again! Surely they just need to work out more of a work life balance rather then moving!

Why are the fences in Australia so scary?

Because they tend to forget that Oz is bloody HOT a lot of the time, to the point where living outdoors is practically impossble.

According to Facebook they live in Perth!

Oh I'm losing patience with her now - yes, be a big girl. Lots of LPs bloody cope on their own - maybe if she wasn't so dramatic and teary about him leaving for a couple of weeks the kids would cope with it a bit better and it wouldn't be this Huge Deal.

So fact the main problem is she's missing her husband, don't think they necessarily need to move to Perth to sort that out

And personally I wouldn't want to spend my "outdoor time" on a public with a laud if other people I don't know. It would be IK sometimes but mostly you'd want your iwn excellent garden surely? And can many people reSlly walk to the beach, I bet it's usually a drive?

The thing is salaries are higher because the cost of living is significantly higher - duh!!!

She seems depressed to me, not a good idea to leave your friends and family if she is.

Umm, no. The big buildings are mining companies and banks.

She does seem like someone who would stamp their feet until they got their own way

Errrr didn't the recruitment consultant say 95% of the work was office i.e. that the remaining 5% was offshore/away from home...

why have they not asked how many hours he'd need to work to earn that if that's the fundamental reason for change?? seems like really money and house size is more important to the wife...

Yup. Lived in Brisbane for 18 months and then Perth for 6 months with DHs work. But it was always a two year thing for us. Great time, but I wouldn't be able to live there forever.
