Hi all. Shiny new thread. Smile

OP posts:
SkivingAgain · 01/02/2013 09:33

She's going to struggle to cope emotionally without the support of friends and family.

Abigail9580 · 01/02/2013 09:33

She is crying again! Surely they just need to work out more of a work life balance rather then moving!

Trazzletoes · 01/02/2013 09:34

Why are the fences in Australia so scary?

Vagndidit · 01/02/2013 09:34

Because they tend to forget that Oz is bloody HOT a lot of the time, to the point where living outdoors is practically impossble.

lettucesoup · 01/02/2013 09:35

According to Facebook they live in Perth!

SconeInSixtySeconds · 01/02/2013 09:35

Keeps out the snakes! Grin

Hassled · 01/02/2013 09:35

Oh I'm losing patience with her now - yes, be a big girl. Lots of LPs bloody cope on their own - maybe if she wasn't so dramatic and teary about him leaving for a couple of weeks the kids would cope with it a bit better and it wouldn't be this Huge Deal.

Yes, I know I'm being too harsh.

susiedaisy · 01/02/2013 09:35

So fact the main problem is she's missing her husband, don't think they necessarily need to move to Perth to sort that out

Davros · 01/02/2013 09:35

And personally I wouldn't want to spend my "outdoor time" on a public with a laud if other people I don't know. It would be IK sometimes but mostly you'd want your iwn excellent garden surely? And can many people reSlly walk to the beach, I bet it's usually a drive?

PestoFrostissimos · 01/02/2013 09:35

The thing is salaries are higher because the cost of living is significantly higher - duh!!!

MunchkinsMumof2 · 01/02/2013 09:35

She seems depressed to me, not a good idea to leave your friends and family if she is.

SconeInSixtySeconds · 01/02/2013 09:36

Umm, no. The big buildings are mining companies and banks.

DreamsTurnToGoldDust · 01/02/2013 09:36

She does seem like someone who would stamp their feet until they got their own way

OBface · 01/02/2013 09:37

Errrr didn't the recruitment consultant say 95% of the work was office i.e. that the remaining 5% was offshore/away from home...

Davros · 01/02/2013 09:38

Sorry fir poor typing, I meant public beach.
I agree she seems depressed

Abigail9580 · 01/02/2013 09:38

He did say that, but people only hear what they want to.

SconeInSixtySeconds · 01/02/2013 09:38

Yup. And the oil gas stuff is inland and up the coast in the pilbara.

Heartbeep · 01/02/2013 09:38

why have they not asked how many hours he'd need to work to earn that if that's the fundamental reason for change?? seems like really money and house size is more important to the wife...

susiedaisy · 01/02/2013 09:38

I'm getting the feeling these two are quite materialistic

Hassled · 01/02/2013 09:39

Did he really just use a calculator to subtract 30,000 from 80,000?

Abigail9580 · 01/02/2013 09:39

Sconeinsixtyseconds- you lived out there? Or just extremely knowledgeable on these things?

Vagndidit · 01/02/2013 09:39

She'd more likely cry until she got her own way.

Moving around the world isn't really going to solve her issues though...

MunchkinsMumof2 · 01/02/2013 09:40

Yes, he didn't really find out how many hours he'd have to work.

SconeInSixtySeconds · 01/02/2013 09:41

Yup. Lived in Brisbane for 18 months and then Perth for 6 months with DHs work. But it was always a two year thing for us. Great time, but I wouldn't be able to live there forever.

SkivingAgain · 01/02/2013 09:42

Intrigued by the glass grapes
