Ok, shocked, I went rooting about on the Internet and all appears well for the three as far as I can see...

I am now officially a pathetic human being!!!

The return of Brennan?! Woooooo hooooo! That'll be something to look forward to.

If Sarah is coming back the they are obviously going to push Karl and Susan back together - she will either "threaten" their newly re-established relationship or Karl will have to "make an impossible choice". Anything that stops the scenes with Karl's dates is good with me

Considering Malcolm married Sarah's sister, it's going to be a bit unrealistic when she doubtlessly turns up totally unexpectedly.

Hopefully Brennan returns as a ghost like Ailsa in Home and Away (Appearing through the fridge. That was excellent).

Nearly cried in todays episode, more over the Luke bit than the Toadie.

Two babies, though!
Lucas will get the girl, I'm sure of it :)

Cute babies but Nell must have been at least six weeks - smiling and gurning away! Vanessa's baby was a more realistic newborn. Rhys should really back off and let Vanessa and Lucas try to make a go of it. I wonder if the arrival of the baby might make him see things differently...

Just can't care a lot about Toadie - I went right off his character during the ridiculous fake Steph wedding and he was a such a misery when Connor was back. I don't think being in a relationship suits him.

Not usually drawn to Lucas but he looked quite sexy holding that baby Grin

Is it just me that's a bit annoyed that the home-birth ended up in a c-section but the planned hospital birth was textbook? They're really not helping women feel confident about home-births! I was so excited when Sonia said she wanted a home-birth but I feel a bit let down now. It doesn't matter how many times the characters say it wasn't because of the home-birth plan, the fact is that they chose that one to get complicated. Why can no-one ever have a birth that doesn't involve rushing to the hospital?! Pff. Stupid soaps! The fact that I'm planning my second homebirth & am very hormonal at the moment is irrelevant here! Wink

Jojo I suppose they're saying that deciding to have a home birth is a very risky decision because you do not have all the facts. Successful home births like yours (which must have been great btw) are mostly down to luck. Absolutely anything can happen in any birth no matter how your pregnancy has gone or how many babies you've had. A life-threatening emergency can come out of nowhere and no amount of hypnotherapy will help you.

But I do agree that nobody has a straightforward birth on tv! And they are usually in agony with the first contraction and pushing with the second! Preferably on Christmas Eve at the nativity play Grin

I'm Grin at the thought of a hospital insisting on cloth nappies. If they suggested that where I work there'd be a mass walk out! And I say that as a cloth user Wink Grin

The whole home birth thing was handled quite badly - where were the community mws to check up on her before the whole dash to hospital thing? Hmm And why isn't Sonya allowed to room in with the baby? Confused

SpanishFly · 05/02/2013 14:17

i quite liked that they were saying that she shouldnt have been so adamant in not going to the hospital, esp as the contractions had slowed, and she hadnt felt her moving for a while.
ime people I know who have had/want a homebirth are the ones who seem to blind to that fact that comlications can happen. Just my experience!

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 05/02/2013 17:35

And the reason given for the use of cloth nappies was pretty weak - so that the midwives could see the baby's poos! They could be just as easily seen in a disposable nappy, surely. >

Report
PuffPants · 05/02/2013 17:39

Cloth nappies? In hospital? How on earth do you wash them? Do you have to stagger to the laundry room clutching your stitches and a box of Dreft?!

Report
SpanishFly · 05/02/2013 17:46

yeah, that was baffling. Poos aren't invisible in disposable nappies.

Report
AmandinePoulain · 05/02/2013 18:55

We aren't even allowed to cut our babies' nails never mind go near them with nappy pins? Can you imagine the health and safety assessment for that? Grin

Report
MsTimTam · 05/02/2013 20:03

Cloth nappy thing baffling... possibly a plot device to allow Toadie and Callum a 'we can look after the baby aren't we ace' moment that you wouldn't get with a disposable nappy?
I loved how they dashed home, seemingly just leaving Nell in the room by herself - worrying!

Report
ShipwreckedAndComatose · 05/02/2013 20:20

Yes, that's what I assumed it was too.

Nearly spat my tea out at the 'we only use cloth nappies to see the poo' bollocks !! Grin

She looked like she'd made a full recovery though, that's a relief!

yep, she'll be up and walking around in no time.
Toady and calum were left in charge of Nell. Toady said, "No problem! We have state-of-the-art biodegradable nappies" sort of thing, and Karl replied, "Good for you, but in the hospital it's cloth nappies, so the nurses can see the bowel movements" !!

The woman playing Priya Kapoor is a terrible actress. All stuttery and wide-eyed. In fact, none of the Kapoors can act. They must have found them all together at some community centre acting-for-beginners open day.

While I'm feeling bitchy...anyone noticed Summer's ass these days? It's bigger each episode! Shock

ShipwreckedAndComatose · 06/02/2013 20:04

Is anyone else struggling with Ajay's logic of inviting Priya back to live with them but without properly explaining this to his teenage daughter who was last seen stabbing mum's clothes with a pair of scissors??

I can see the logic of trying to mend relationships but this just seems to be like chucking oil on a fire!! is that just a plot device for more juicy confrontation scenes by the sad story writers?
