Jingleallthejay · 18/12/2012 17:06

Kristina is stunning i am not Envy at all honest now where is the half naked Artem Pics

Jingleallthejay · 18/12/2012 17:07

I dont think DVO looks old I just thought she was my age older than 38

digerd · 18/12/2012 19:10

ITT tonight - Louis and Flavia dancing the Salsa and Charleston on Saturday, so 2 Charlestons so far - DVO also.

LetUsPrey · 18/12/2012 19:12

So is Saturday's final a judges' choice, the pair's favourite dance and a show dance?

Where will Louis and Flavia's Argentine Tango be? Xmas Sad

digerd · 18/12/2012 19:17

It won't. Their 3rd dance is the show dance - wasn't keen on their music though < disappointed face> I think their choice should have been the AT instead of Charleston.

digerd · 18/12/2012 19:19

I liked Dani's charleston the best.

LetUsPrey · 18/12/2012 19:21

They haven't done an AT have they? I can't tell you how much I was looking to forward to Flavia's AT. Oh poo.

digerd · 18/12/2012 19:24

I thought they did? Vincent and Flavia often do a show dance AT in the final.

LetUsPrey · 18/12/2012 19:29

Was wondering whether Flavia might do an AT-based show dance, although she wouldn't be able to put many gymnastic flips and tricks into it would she? That might be a good thing though. I'm over-thinking this aren't I? Xmas Grin

Didn't Vincent do something similar with Rachel Stevens in their final? It was an excellent dance but didn't really work as a show dance IMO.

frankinsensible · 18/12/2012 19:30

Think Flav is going the populist route - charleston's have been popular generally this season and the song - Take That Rule the World -is a big Christmassy tune. I'm sure their showdance will be heavy on the tango. They showed a bit of their Halloween tango on ITT - really loved that one.

Karen's comments were really excellent.

MaryChristmaZEverybody · 18/12/2012 19:39

I read they were doing it differently this year, so they all get to do the show dance.

But I can't find where I read it and am beginning to think I imagined it.

My understanding was that they did judges choice and show dance, and then one was eliminated and the final three did their favourite dance.

Why on earth do I think that?

Did anyone watch Lorraine. DVO and James were on it. God he really doesn't help does he? He again complained that people thought she was trained and how unfair it all is. Yadda yadda yadda.

DVO sat listening. Po faced but steely eyes and hard as nails. I wouldn't mind them so much if they weren't paired. James is severely stupid and unlikeable. Arrogant and angry about being in the bottom two when they really did deserve to be there. It's a lighthearted family show and James is showing no sportsmanship at all. And they wonder why the public dislike them!!

frankinsensible · 18/12/2012 22:45

Karen Hardy very tactfully alluded to Jame's competitiveness. Think you're right baking, they probably seemed like a great match in the planning stage but they are just too grimly determined. A partner can make all the difference - Dani might not have progressed so well without Vince and I think a lot of Kimberley's popularity is down to the Pascha effect!

MaryChristmaZEverybody · 18/12/2012 23:09

Yes Baking, I've really gone off James, especially since the night when he made such a big deal about "blanking". Everyone makes mistakes - it was only a big deal because he made it one.

He has to realise that it isn't necessarily the best dancer who wins Strictly. Or indeed the most popular person. It is a combination of dancing, niceness, and the "journey" (I hate that term but I do think it is important here), so someone like Danni who lacked ability, or Louis who lacked confidence will be recognised by the public and rewarded for effort. Someone who can just dance really well alll the way through is a bit boring to watch.

I just love Vincent's faux-cockiness too. He is just so cute and little and lovely, I could just pick him up and take him home. The complete opposite of Pascha

And although I'm not so keen on Flavia I do recognise that she really orchestrates her dances to show Louis off - I don't actually like her that much personally, but she really knows how to show off his best bits.

That is how james jordan used to be 'the baddie' of strictly really grumpy then he mellowed he has gone back to what he was I have really gone off him,

I heart vincent i think he is really funny and has the peachiest bottom ever Blush

Bakingnovice · 19/12/2012 08:51

If they both stopped going on about DVO being untrained she might stand a better chance. And I don't understand why they have people like James in place of Ian or Darren.

Jingleallthejay · 19/12/2012 08:57

f they both stopped going on about DVO being untrained she might stand a better chance

yeah they are protesting far to much . I quite liked him last year he seemed to chill out a little but the last few weeks he has been a right pain ,

OodKingWenceslas · 19/12/2012 09:03

Or if she actually said 'I've not done any ballroom dancing but I'm used to dancing on stage ' Louis says his gymnastics helps, Kimberley says she has danced on stage, dani says she's an actress so that has helped but DVO has nothing Hmm
She says something in one interview about dani going to stage school much more recently than her, which I read as a bit of a dig.

OodKingWenceslas · 19/12/2012 09:04

Oh and when Zoe asked Brendan on ITT he said something like 'well she's not dance trained like Robin or I' with an unspoken 'but.....'

Jingleallthejay · 19/12/2012 09:06

Or if she actually said 'I've not done any ballroom dancing but I'm used to dancing on stage ' Louis says his gymnastics helps, Kimberley says she has danced on stage, dani says she's an actress so that has helped but DVO has nothing

Exactly she makes out she is just trying her best Hmm it is ok to have some dance experience ballroom dancing looks complicated, if she said oh this is NOTHING like dancing on stage then people would probably warm to her more

bakingaddict · 19/12/2012 09:20

I liked James most the year he danced with Pamela Stephenson, I think she managed to bring out his lighter side and I guess she'd take no shit from him. If I was doing strictly he would be least favourite pairing and Robin my best.

Pascha choreographs amazing routines always managing to be fresh and modern, hope Kimberly and him win, anybody but DVO really. Artem just seems too glacial and aloof and Brendan's routines never really have that wow factor for me

2rebecca · 19/12/2012 09:58

I want Louis or Dany to win, partly because they are the only celebrities that I recognise as celebrities, I'm not sure what DVO is actually famous for and girls aloud are after my time. I also think they are the most interesting dancers and the 2 who seemed to come into the competition with minimal ballroom experience and to be learning stuff.
People think DVO is lying about her experience because she has been too good at it from the beginning, as well as being a bad loser and doing the annoying hand thing about phoning.
I support Louis for not playing the rugrat card last week as well, and being sexy. I loved watching him at the olympics as well.

AdesteFiderer · 19/12/2012 11:09

What's the "rugrat card"?

Sparklingbrook · 19/12/2012 11:19

I think it's bringing out the children so we all go awwwww. Like when Denise's daughter Betsy turned up at training 'unexpectedly'.
