There.

OP posts:

I really didn't like dvo's rumba. She and James are too old to do the "first love" thing with her in virginal white, it was too creepy. James did do a very nice rumba with Cherie Lunghi a few years back, she wore white too but tight with cut-outs and it looked great.

Could the wardrobe department not do something about Lisa's boobs? They bounced everywhere! Being very big boobed (and waist, hips, bum and thighs!!) Myself, I can appreciate the challenge but I don't think it did her any favours to see her heaving bosom bouncing about like that.

Yes, as a very large lady myself I do appreciate Lisa as a role model for all those who want to dance. However, I just feel that there is too much comedy in all the routines, playing to to stereotype that all fatties are funny. We're not! Sure, use the comedy in the Charelston, some of the Latin dances but the bits where she was lifiting Robin, not on! IMHO.

Ok, rant over!

digerd · 16/12/2012 11:29

I remember Cherie Lunghi and she was brilliant. Obviously trained as a dancer, but she was older - 56?- Very good rumba, gorgeous legs and feet, good body and hip ( bum) movement and lovely arms and hands.
Just found it on Google from SCD 2008 -you tube

ScatterGotStuckUpTheChimney · 16/12/2012 11:47

Have we had any of the traditionally shaped rumba dresses this year? I remember Cherie's, it was lovely.

Chubfuddler · 16/12/2012 11:53

Pan do stop playing thread prefect.

Bakingnovice · 16/12/2012 12:13

Red tinsel I agree. Tess is rubbish. So gruff sounding and always seem to not notice the glaringly obvious. As for Bruce, much respect for turning up but it was obvious he wasn't all there. The jokes were misread, mistimed and misjudged. Why can't he be remembered as a loveable professional presenter? Instead of letting us all witness his downfall. Do feel he deserves a lot of love for turning up.

Knotty - massive congratulations. Hope all goes well. Your post made me so so broody. Just adore newborn babies.

Hope Louis wins. Despite his medal wins. I just find him totally adorable and probably the most improved from the ones left. Lisa has been where she is for ages, Kim's improved, DVO was brill to start so no real improvement and can't remember who else is in.

MordionAgenos · 16/12/2012 12:18

My reference to the spoiler was saying if Louis is still in it. I think Lisa is better than Louis. I think all the remaining women are better than him. There's nothing wrong with saying that.

Horsemad · 16/12/2012 13:09

digerd I just watched Cherie's rumba, I'd forgotten just how gorgeous it was!
I also loved Rachel Stevens' rumba with Vincent - another great dance.

CeliaFate · 16/12/2012 13:28

Lisa's dancing was well below the standard of the other contestants last night. She was completely over marked, she made mistakes in both dances and that floor spin was just embarrassing. She's definitely got to go tonight, surely?

Pan · 16/12/2012 14:12

Chub - it often happens that people inadvertently drop the big clues. Lots of us prefer the suspense, and say so - nothing prefecty about that.

Pan · 16/12/2012 14:26

thanks MsInterpret. I think I'll just record it on tv - the laptop screen won't be as good. And someone at the venue will prob. have a smartphone and 'announce' the winner at some stage after 10pm!!

Horsemad · 16/12/2012 14:29

I'm watching Follow the Fleet - Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers, brilliant. Smile

Pan · 16/12/2012 14:30

oh Follow The Fleet has the most concentration of superb dancing than any other filum they did, iirc.

Horsemad · 16/12/2012 14:38

Let's Face the Music & Dance...

Will be skipping round the kitchen again in a minute Grin

Pan · 16/12/2012 14:40

Grin - and that swirly dress.

Horsemad · 16/12/2012 14:41

Bliss - they don't make 'em like this anymore. Smile

Pan · 16/12/2012 14:42

his thumbs are all over the place!!

Horsemad · 16/12/2012 14:42

Actually got tears watching this.

Horsemad · 16/12/2012 14:44

My DC are laughing at my emotion Grin

Horsemad · 16/12/2012 14:46

Shall We Dance on next!

Pan · 16/12/2012 16:31

Reminds me of the story of Astaire's first screen test - " Can't sing, can't act, can dance a bit."

Horsemad · 16/12/2012 16:33

Grin Pan!

slartybartfast · 16/12/2012 16:59

i want louis to win. i lurve him.
i might buy myself a calender, and looking on amazon you can also buy a louis smith pillow case and a cardboard cut out Grin

Sparklingbrook · 16/12/2012 17:02

I think I want Kimberley to win now. I loved her Charleston last night and she comes across as a lovely person unlike Biffa Cole and the rest of Girls Aloud

chocolatespiders · 16/12/2012 17:03

I got dd the Louis Calendar- I havent looked at it yet I am waiting to look at it on Christmas day- my treat to myself!!

Off to look for the pillow case!!!!

LOUIS TO WIN

Bakingnovice · 16/12/2012 17:07

Yes yes yes Louis to win. Lisa was good at the start then she went all comedy and cabaret. She was the worst last night. Loving Kim too.
