There.

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 16/12/2012 17:11

Lisa's problem is that she isn't 'comedy awful' like say Ann Widdecombe/John Sargeant but she is technically awful. DH thinks she will win.

slartybartfast · 16/12/2012 17:20

is it too late to vote now?

slartybartfast · 16/12/2012 17:23

no - lisa wont win, firstly it is popularity but surely the final 2 or how many ? are decided by the judges? would the judges vote for her? seriouly?

Sparklingbrook · 16/12/2012 17:25

That's true slarty. In the final is it just the public vote or the same as usual?

Pan · 16/12/2012 17:27

I think someone on here who knows such things said the final is down to the public, though the judges still hold up their little paddles.

slartybartfast · 16/12/2012 17:30

ah so Louis might be ok
yay

digerd · 16/12/2012 17:37

I heard that too on TV, that in the final it is all down to the public vote who wins. Louis has definately made the most improvement, and Kimberley next. I hope they all give us a sparkling performance.

TheOneWithTheHair · 16/12/2012 17:37

I still want Dani to win. If she doesn't then Kimberly.

Definitely not DVO and I've never really taken to Louis either.

Much as I think she's great, I don't want Lisa either because I don't think she's good enough.

digerd · 16/12/2012 17:39

oops definitely !

digerd · 16/12/2012 17:40

Lisa is definitely not good enough.

slartybartfast · 16/12/2012 17:40

imo louis deserves it.

the others are performers, he is a sportsman. he has a lot to thank his mum for, she used to drive him an hour eveyr day after school to train for the gym.

slartybartfast · 16/12/2012 17:41

the comment about his mum is obviously not relevant to strictly, but something i read in saturday's guardian.

Horsemad · 16/12/2012 17:46

Yep slarty behind every great sports person is a parent who has ferried them to training & fixtures.

slartybartfast · 16/12/2012 17:47

and he is an olympian so that she should stand for somethign in 2012 strictly come dancing

RedTinsel · 16/12/2012 18:00

I think that if Lisa isn't in the DO tonight, then Louis might be in trouble, which would be a great shame because it's Flavias turn to win! No way can he beat DVO, assuming she's te least popular with the public.

DublinMammy · 16/12/2012 18:06

Time for Lisa to go, she was good fun but she is simply not good enough. would be terribly unfair for one of the others to have to go instead of her....
Louis or Kimberly to win!!!

PuffPants · 16/12/2012 18:17

Nah, Louis will be fine - I'm sure he's topping the public vote. Really hope he wins, this is his one big shot at doing something big in entertainment and could set him up for future work. The girls are already successful. I think it would be a very fitting end to an amazing year for him. Also he was incredibly close to the gold medal in his event, same mark as the eventual winner, they were separated only by their execution score. I was gutted for him.

Once he's safely through to the final, he will win, I'm sure Wink

Sparklingbrook · 16/12/2012 18:18

If Lisa ends up in the bottom two tonight is it really worth bothering with the dance off?

Pan · 16/12/2012 18:19

I have this notion that IF he wins, Louis will thank Flavia etc, and then by Sunday morning he will have the glitter ball in a spare room at his mum's house and he'll be back on the X-box.

digerd · 16/12/2012 18:27

Puffpants
I agree

frankinsensible · 16/12/2012 18:28

I am certain Louis will win with ease and I am happy with that. Because of his popularity whoever comes second to him can feel like a winner and I really hope it will be Dani but I am pretty nervous about the results show. If Dani ended up in the dance-off with DVO then the judges would let her go because, for reasons that baffle me, they have consistently underrated her while fawning over DVO.

I feel a bit sad about Lisa because she started off with the serious intention of developing into a good dancer as well as a fun one. I think the judges nobbled her when she did her Rhumba and since then they have gone for the comedy option. I really felt sick for her last night watching her being dragged round the floor.

Pan · 16/12/2012 18:31

yes, frank, if anyone else had that murderous intent look Devo had for the AT they would have been warned about characterisation and story-telling through their face, eg Louis repeatedly.

digerd · 16/12/2012 18:32

Frankin
Sorry to say, I watched just a few seconds of her first dance and looked away , so didn't see any more of it.

frankinsensible · 16/12/2012 18:35

It was weird wasn't it? The whole routine was very jack-booty. Have to say (tho it pains me) Louis jive was one of the worst I've seen - far worse than Nicky's. Wonder why - if anyone's got bounce it's Louis!

frankinsensible · 16/12/2012 18:36

digerd - you did the right thing, it was a sad spectacle, back to the old days of Widdicombe.
