I had a thought watching ep1 (yes another one. I take apocalypse telly way too seriously...) if you had to lose a limb in a hostile and far from sterile situation, surely the quickest way to stop it bleeding is to cauterise it? I guessed this, but then I remembered that -SPOILER FOR SOMETHING ELSE- the doctor in saw 1 who cut his foot off was seen cauterising it on a radiator pipe in one of the later films...?

Thats what i thought too beyond- wouldn't they cauterise it?

My dad wears joop, so does dh occasionally-i quite like the smell tbh.
Not too keen on the newer fragrances though!

I changed my name during S2 in homage to Rick/Andrew/Egg. I hate this show but MUST watch.

Lori makes me hoick my parental judgey pants up to atomic wedgie status. Why the feck is is automatically sharing a cell with Carole? Does he think Carl (pronounced Coral) is her imaginary friend? Her excuse that he wasn't speaking to her is a load of old shoite. She doesn't even pretend to know where he is.

I agree, I'd usually be arguing that it was up to both parents, but in this case Rick has most definitely set himself up as the leader, and she's supported him in that. In which case it's up to her to look after Carl. I would not let my child out of my sight, but they seem happy for him to wander off and pretend to be zombie fodder.
That said, how has he aged 5 years in about 7 months? They're definitely setting him up as the next generation rather than the little boy he was in S1. I did feel a bit vomitey when Rick told him he'd be the man of the group - as if he'd be better than all the gun trained adult women

Any why they're not taking care of Herschel, as the only one with any sort of medical knowledge/training I'll never know. Though I wouldn't like to be Lori and have him as my "midwife" - he'll have his sleeve rolled up and gloves on before she can have her first contraction :o I think she'll labour at night, with Carol as the only one who knows (oh and Glen, who knows everything)

Oh I love glen too. Him and maggie are amazing. Did I mention I have a girl crush on maggie??

I agree that it is normally it is for both parents to take equal responsibility. However in this zombieverse Rick is busy keeping the rest of them alive.

I hate hate lori. But ep2 has possibly found me softening towards her a bit. A very tiny bit, i must emphasise. I hated being pregnant, had sciatica with ds1 and spd with ds2, and for a minute i imagined what it would be like having to run away from zombies, while not looking after your pfb already, knowing that you have to give birth soon with no real medical help, probably with a vets hand up your nether regions. Having to wholly rely on the men and maggie to keep you safe. Cavewomen may not have minded, but I'm sure women of today would feel infantalised after being used to near equality... (Well, i cant speak for everyone, but i know i would mind it!)

As for carl being mad at lori, i dont know what the "background" will be yet, but i can imagine a child (teen? how old is he?) would be quite annoyed that their mum put their sex life before looking after him. What with th very real possibility that she'll die in childbirth, leaving him mumless in a not very nice world?

Especially now he knows (he found out when rick died, didnt he?) about her affiar?

I can accept Carl/Coral is angry. I think it is baffling that Lori is so laid back as to his whereabouts or alive/dead status.

Holy shit episode 2 was superb.
There were some laugh out loud moments (well for me anyway) and then a rather shocking development.

Next week looks.... interesting.
