I am beside myself with excitement. here - who's putting the contacts in? Is that Carrie in a disguise? Any one else agog?

a 3rd series without Carrie is entirely feasible though - isn't she preggers? in which case she would be giving birth/on mat leave while they shoot series 3?

bunchamunchycrunchycarrots · 10/12/2012 15:50

Potentially, this could drag on for years as Brody was in captivity for, what, 8 years? Maybe Carrrie will disappear for an equal period of time, having gone back into Nazir's lair to end him with a metal pipe. Cluedo anyone?

laptopwieldingharpy · 10/12/2012 16:43

Really? carrie pregnant?

diddl · 10/12/2012 16:50

Claire Danes is pregnant.

cocolepew · 10/12/2012 17:02

Shock you can't fancy Nazir, he's a bad man

I do too

gypsyfloss · 10/12/2012 17:06

Manbag of continental snacks Grin I'm really worried about Saul :( I love that he clutches his hat and takes it with him.

I could do without Carrie tbh. She's not been half as genius- like this time round and far too weepy. I think knowing she's pregnant spoils it a bit for me. Off topic I watched Romeo and Juliet with her and Leo the other night and so many of her mannerisms are the same. Love her hair colour tho' .

Estes is a bad man, really don't like him and think he hates Carrie. Brody really did seem to enjoy Walden's death . And Nazir is rather attractive...in a brooding, I am always right kind of way.

donnie · 10/12/2012 17:47

also, while I think about it - how the hell did Galvez suddenly reappear in the 'search for Carrie' scene? I thought he was dead Shock!

It appears that US hospitals are indeed amazing: Galvez is penetrated by around 30 bullets at close range in a surprise terrorist attack and re-emerges with an arm in a sling and nothing more! Obama's health reforms truly are miraculous Wink

gypsyfloss · 10/12/2012 18:12

Maybe Galvez is back in as the mole after all? Why did the lady minder give Brody an odd look when he mentioned to Carrie on the phone about handing in his resignation to the Veep?

BOFingSanta · 10/12/2012 18:24

Galvez is a bit of a hottie- but I agree that his sudden recovery is bizarre and must surely be a plot point.

HalleLouja · 10/12/2012 19:01

Galvez isn't hot in the slightestShock

GetorfsaMotherfuckingMorrisMan · 10/12/2012 19:10

Galvez isn't hot, bless him. He looks like penfold.

Give me Dangermous (Abu Nazir) any day.

I had a good old jessica slag-off session with my MIL last night. She hates her as well.

gypsyfloss · 10/12/2012 19:11

I can't decide if Galvez loves Carrie and that's why he's back or whether he's got a nefarious purpose. I can't help feeling like everyone is being dragged on screen for a grand season end. I'm still waiting for Saul's wife to make a reappearance ....

BOFingSanta · 10/12/2012 19:16

That's me told then Xmas BlushXmas Grin

Hassled · 10/12/2012 20:13

Yes - why is Galvez back? It was so sudden and so directly Carrie-linked that there has to be some deep significance.

Nazir was mesmorising last night - that whole spiel about whether Westerners have what it takes to fight them with their "pension plans and organic food" was amazing. I forget sometimes how great the scriptwriting can be.

mamaus - no, I will not be googling ever again :o. I felt like I let myself down, I let this thread down and most of all I let Saul down. And we know how much I love Saul.

Guttingly, though, I've realised I won't be able to watch the finale on the 23rd - will have the Christmas visitors all lined up on the sofa and there's no way I can persuade them into a spot of light Homelanding. I'll do the cheat online version a couple days before and then not say a word.

OP posts:
Hassled · 10/12/2012 20:15

Galvez can't be the mole - he knows a fair bit, but he can't possibly have known where Walden's defibrillator lived.

Me [behind cushion] to Carrie [going back into warehouse]: you don't have a gun! you don't have a gun!

Homeland location scouts really are stealing a march on Dr Who location scouts for the creepiest industrial locations. I don't like it.

BoreOfWhabylon · 10/12/2012 21:56

Loving the series and loving this thread!

I am delurking to make a prediction ...

With Walden out of the way, Brody will now be approached to run for President.

Hassled · 10/12/2012 22:05

Oh yes, I can see Brodie being asked to run - it will send the mouth twitching into overdrive, though.

Has Carrie managed to cure herself of her bipolar disorder through the power of Brodie-love? We don't see her popping pills anymore. And where's her father? - I liked him.

OP posts:
BoreOfWhabylon · 10/12/2012 22:17

Hmmm... the Brodie-Carrie-love will get in the way of him being President, though. Unless they keep it secret.

The pill-popping seems to have abated, at least for the time being.

And yes, I love Carrie's dad too.

gypsyfloss · 10/12/2012 22:24

They'll all be back for one almighty show down Grin

BoreOfWhabylon · 10/12/2012 22:26

Oh, I do hope so Grin

comeonbishbosh · 10/12/2012 22:27

Loved watching Brodie watch Walden fully expecting him to pop his clogs any second. Also, loved expecting him to do a decent job of CPR only for him to have a change of heart and sock Walden with what he Really Thinks. Loved that rare bit of honesty and a great opportunity taken.

Obviously, I'm against terrorist killing of presidential hopefuls in general.

firsttimemama · 10/12/2012 23:13

Joining this thread late but I think I have some info...

Brody asked Nazir how he "knew all this stuff" when Nazir was telling him where to find the the pacemaker thing box, and Nazir said the New York Times, I summized from this that there was a write up on the Veep and he was pictured in his office with the boxy thing in the background on the bookcase -next to the running machine. I hope I have added something useful to this Homeland love in.
BTW have you covered the spruce up that Nazir has had since he hit the US?

firsttimemama · 10/12/2012 23:15

Oh and Brody did act on his principles once when he flicked the switch on the vest but it malfunctioned.

HazeltheMcWitch · 10/12/2012 23:17

firsttimemama, there genuinely was an article in the NYT saying that it's theoretically possible that a pacemaker could be hacked here

Think the comment was a riff on that. But you could obvs still be right however!
