I don't think Saul is portrayed as bumbling - just maybe too human. That's why he loves Carrie so much - he sees the same fallibility.

The actor who plays Finn does Crazy Mixed-Up Kid really well - the acting throughout is just superb. Dana is marvellous.

Hmmm up until now I've thought Saul was on the straight and narrow but that's two key witnesses he's accidentally allowed to commit suicide. Very fishy...

I had a rather lovely dream about Damian Lewis last night... So enjoyed the snogging tonight! Poor Dana tho :(

Do you think Finn will now also kill himself? When Brodie was in the swimming pool I half expected him to bump into the sunken corpse of Finn or Dana, so great is the body count on Homeland these days!

Roya looked a bit ropey at the assignation in the park didn't she? there is something going on there that we don't know yet IMO. I still think Brody is managing to convey information to her in an encryped fashion (dunno how though )

:) at eyebrow gymnastics . Brody does a good line in pursed lips when he's being economical with the truth too. In fact I think the most honest we've seen him so far is when he got angry at the end at Carrie about Dana. She (Dana) is his Achilles heel, it was her voice at that moment in the bunker that stopped him exploding the vest. If I was Nazir I'd be keeping a very close watch on her.

I still love this, but I don't love it as much as the first series. It's too bloody implausible now. How the hell is Carrie so involved when she has had her security clearance withdrawn. And why do there seem to be only 3 major people in the CIA working on such a shit hot mission?

I still worship and adore Saul's lovely face. If he turns out to be a baddy I will never trust anyone again

It has only just occurred to me this morning that there must be a thread about this on MN. Have just read all your posts from start to finish and love this thread already - hadn't even considered Saul as a possible baddie. But he carries around bread, wine and cheese in his man bag - he is the epitome of goodness, no?

I love Dana's acting. She really is great, got that whole curled lip thing going on. And her revolting clodhoppers make me laugh.

Saul as bumbling idiot or Saul as Baddie? I don't know which of these I'd prefer. the former, obviously The bread, wine and cheese thing. Biblical allegory? Is he meant to be the redemptive force, the good? I will believe anything other than him being bad!

Its Brody's daughter I can't stand - she's almost as annoying as kim in 24. Its so easy to be earnest when you were the one just shouting 'go faster' but not actually driving.

I love Saul and refuse to believe he is bad.

I am American living in the UK and I must admit, I had no idea Damian Lewis was British until about halfway through season 1. I looked up his Jonathan Ross appearance and it was so strange to hear him with an English accent, his American accent is amazing! Same for the guys playing Estes and Quinn.
