Jellykat · 11/09/2012 21:06

scottishmummy · 11/09/2012 21:07

yes. I grew up in a scheme
I hope the coverage is balanced and sensitive
it will be uncomfortable but unfortunately that's how folks live

MrsCampbellBlack · 11/09/2012 21:07

I'm watching.

crackcrackcrak · 11/09/2012 21:09

drug dealers coming up according to the blurb

MrsCampbellBlack · 11/09/2012 21:15

Pretty depressing so far.

MrsCampbellBlack · 11/09/2012 21:16

Although I wasn't expecting anything else I guess

Jellykat · 11/09/2012 21:19

Thing is we can see the kids are bored shitless.. Build them a skate park and leave them to it?

OP posts:
crackcrackcrak · 11/09/2012 21:19

its v grim and austere. the asbo lad is a familiar figure on these estates :(

tittytittyhanghang · 11/09/2012 21:21

fuck that is depressing, thank god i dont live there. Surely the parents of some of these antisocial kids are to blame?

captainhastings · 11/09/2012 21:21

I grew up on a council estate and bear no resemblance to the people featured

tittytittyhanghang · 11/09/2012 21:23

I grew up on an estate too but fuck we 'd never have behaved like that. My mother would have murdered me

crackcrackcrak · 11/09/2012 21:24

its that bad a 15 year old has willingly removed himself? thats v interesting

crackcrackcrak · 11/09/2012 21:27

dont want him to go to school in case people influence him? olwen sounds like some of the barking mums i know who preach ap and homeschool ;)

Darkesteyeswithflecksofgold · 11/09/2012 21:28

My best mate lived on a council estate when we were teenagers and it wasnt like this.
These kids just have no hope and they have no light in their eyes.

Chippychop · 11/09/2012 21:31

I don't think all council estates are like this at all... These people on here are an underclass. God help society. Those poor kids don't stand a chance do they?

nikcname · 11/09/2012 21:32

Started watching this and logged on to see if there was a thread. Feel so sorry for some of the people who live there.

Jellykat · 11/09/2012 21:35

If i lived there i'd need to be off my face to get away from day to day crap Sad

OP posts:
Nancy66 · 11/09/2012 21:36

i also feel sorry for the poor kids. The parents are hopeless though.

Sue is particularly loathsome

Chippychop · 11/09/2012 21:39

Olwin is a lazy loser. Feeding off society

tittytittyhanghang · 11/09/2012 21:41

Yes, id most definitely describe some of these people as underclass. Isn't that forbidden on mn?

Tis a shame because guaranteed there will be plenty of decent people and families who also have to live there and put up with the shit inflicted on them by probably a relatively small minority.

Jeezus, that Olwen is the ultimate cliched mn benefit scrounger.

DioneTheDiabolist · 11/09/2012 21:41

No Chippy, they don't. And it makes life so much harder for the more together parents on the estate who have to work twice as hard to keep their kids semi safe.Sad
