Strictly Come Dancing 2012 - who's getting excited?

Just read that Katya Virshilas isn't returning to the show, a new dancer Karen Hauer is taking her place.

Who will be in this year's line up?

OP posts:
DilysPrice · 07/10/2012 12:07

I'm going to rewatch Lisa and also Victoria - it may be mean but I love watching closely and seeing the Pros doing damage control when it all goes horribly wrong - poor old Brenda must have been having Lulu flashbacks. There's a couple of great Alesha dances where she or Matt lose the plot, and there's a teeny flash of panic in his lovely lovely eyes before he takes control.

RedBlanket · 07/10/2012 12:19

I loved how Brendan managed to maintain his professional fixed 'it's all perfect' grin, whilst mouthing instructions to her out of the corner of his mouth.
He tends not to get on with the ones who don't put the effort in (ie Lulu, and Fiona Philips) but lovely to the ones who do, even if they're a bit rubbish, forgot her name, the one from Destinys Child.

Sparklingbrook · 07/10/2012 12:20

I think Brendan's wife is about to have a baby isn't she? hope he can still focus after no sleep. Smile

Am hoping Victoria was just having an off day. Liking the look of a closer run competition this year.

LittleAbruzzenBear · 07/10/2012 12:49

Sid was surprisingly good, funny and nice. Kimberley was great and although Lisa was good, she was not better than Kimberley, so thought her score was a bit OTT.

Wingedharpy · 07/10/2012 14:14

I loved Lisa - it was a true performance - maybe not all the right steps in the right places but she was a true pro and kept going.
I've a feeling that Louis will struggle with the performance aspect of the sexy dances ie Latin.
I saw him on Alan Carr on Friday night and he came across as a very serious young man who looked like he wanted the ground to swallow him up when Alan started cavorting around him.
He should be fine with the ballroom stuff though.
I think that Darcy's problem when she's giving her critique is that she's trying to have a conversation, Yah?
Instead she should just speak her bit and not stop until she gets to the end, Yah? But this is broadcasting and she's a dancer. She'll learn, Yah?
And lastly, sorry all, but I love Tess and Brucie and don't think it would be the same without them. Tess is quite clearly Brucie's carer and he would be even more lost than he already is, without her.

Sparklingbrook · 07/10/2012 14:19

It certainly wouldn't be the same without Tess and Brucie-it would be loads better. Grin But I can't think of anyone I would want to see instead. Sad

ppeatfruit · 07/10/2012 16:20

IMO Darcey was great esp. the way she came over all peculiar Grin over the silver medallist lad Grin. And Brucie saying she wasn't looking at his face when CRH criticised his lack of smiles, Brilliant!!!!

RedBlanket · 07/10/2012 16:32

Winged harpy - agree about Louis. I can see an acting coach coming on.

FrankelSaysRelax · 07/10/2012 17:26

Just managed to watch both episodes after spending the weekend away.

Darcey is going to get on my wick saying "Yes?" All the time!

ppeatfruit · 07/10/2012 17:39

I admit to only watching sat's but maybe she's been told 'cos I didn't notice Darcey saying yes all the time. I loved her Grin

TheHumancatapult · 07/10/2012 18:24

Ok just seen seems I have call the Venues direct trouble is often only 2/3 wheelchair spaces . Guess who be on the phone tomorrow

TheHumancatapult · 07/10/2012 18:34

Ok anyone been to O2 arena and seen where the wheelchair platform is ? Is it a good view ? And what's better afternoon or the 7.30pm show both have tickets at the moment

Sparklingbrook · 07/10/2012 19:55

When I went to the LG Arena the wheelchairs were down on the flat on the same level as the dancefloor.

Doilooklikeatourist · 07/10/2012 20:29

We went to see the show in Cardiff last year ,( was fantasic apart from Robbie Savage pouncing about the place ) there are no shows in Wales next year .
It's a disgrace !
< stamps feet in a tango fashion and thinks about going to the O2 >
Can't miss Artem and his puppy dog eyes ...

TheHumancatapult · 07/10/2012 20:29

Ty they told me where platform is need to check out a map of it to see but I'm so so tempted

AitchTwoOhOneTwo · 07/10/2012 20:35

what's teh format of the stage shows? is it suitable for wee kids, like, four/five/six kinda thing?

TheHumancatapult · 07/10/2012 20:39

Wonder where the LG arena is if that gives me a better view

Sparklingbrook · 07/10/2012 20:55

Sorry Human it's the NEC near Birmingham x

Sparklingbrook · 07/10/2012 20:57

Sorry again Human, it's on at the NIA in Birmingham next year not the LG. That's right in the middle of Birmingham.

RedBlanket · 08/10/2012 11:17

The tour runs the same as the TV show. They dance, the judges make comments, and the audience vote in the intermission. I think they all do two dances and there's usually a couple of group dances and a pro dance.
The show programme has paper number panels included so the audience can join in the scoring.
They camp it up a bit more than on the TV show and the jokes are a bit ruder, mostly aimed at Craig. There's usually a few older kids there, but I've only been to evening performances so maybe more during the day?
If you do get near the front then the pros always make a big fuss over kids, shaking hands and photos and stuff.

Doilooklikeatourist · 08/10/2012 15:30

As RedBlanket said about the live shows , but the Judges dance too !
Bruno , as if by magic takes his jacket off , shirt unbuttons and a medallion appears .
There's a live band and singers too , we went in the afternoon , and it's a bit more risqué than TV but very good fun

TheHumancatapult · 08/10/2012 18:09

Thank you

Have checked where wheelchair platform is so long as have enough money in bank am going to book it for myself tomorrow

AitchTwoOhOneTwo · 08/10/2012 21:39

so do we think young kids would enjoy it in the afternoon? i'm so tempted to take the kids and their cousin... they would FREAK, and january is such a depressing month without something to look forward to.
