I love this programme, and have the book from the last series. I did sort of try a recipe, but not really here
I'm a terrible baker, and don't have a sweet tooth but I love to watch people who can bake.
Also I had a crush on Rob

Oooh Fantastic!! I LOVE this programme so much nicer and more fun than those masterchef type competitions they put me off. I sort of fancy Paul Hollywood (I like his eyes) agree about his taste buds though; salty dog is a brilliant nick name for him!!! Though as one poster has said it might affect his judging of the taste of something .

Me and DH love this programme! I have the book and then ordered a couple of Mary Berry books too. Okay and then more besides that as well!

I have 'liked' Jo's and Holly's FB pages, I love seeing what they bake now not a stalker, promise. Okay I love looking at Jo's kitchen photos as well as the yummy cakes

Can't wait 'til tomorrow now Grin

I really hope you're the real Mary Ann! Grin

So looking forward to this (life?! Why would we want one of them?). I shall have to watch it later cos DH (damn him) is not home tonight, but I may sneak onto this thread to get the gist.

Oo I'm excited too- got weigh in first tonight though, then home to salivate over cakes I'm not allowed to eat Hmm

I am SO looking forward to tonight! It is such a great show. I always feel I have learnt so much in a quiet gentle way.

The Kids Bake Off really inspired my boys - so much so that the 10 year old now does a baking club at the local High School, and made iced lemon biscuits for his teachers and classmates at the end of term. I had been baking with them both since they were litle, but it was the amazing Freya who inspired them most!

DH also loves it, and can barely BUY a cake never mind make one!

Noilly I have also liked Jo and Holly on Facebook, and love Ruth Clemens's website (2nd in the first series - she woz robbed).

I've got a few friends coming over to watch it at mine tonight. But I don't have time to do any baking beforehand Angry

not last year's Mary Ann I'm afraid (though she is on twitter and seems a lovely person ((because she acknowledged my tweets !!))

Report
LRDtheFeministDragon · 14/08/2012 14:23

Ah, I'm disappointed! Wink

She was lovely, wasn't she? I really wanted to eat what she made, which wasn't the case for all of them.

MaryAnn, I remember you saying that GBBO Mary Ann had replied to your tweet - was it on last year's GBBO thread? I was pleased for you, but slightly disappointed as it meant that you and she were not the same.
Hmm, unless it was a cunning double-bluff?! Smile

MaryAnnSingleton · 14/08/2012 14:57

ha ! she is a MNetter because I asked her but hadn't been on for a long time - I told her how much she was liked on last year's thread Grin

Report
HazeltheMcWitch · 14/08/2012 15:01

We said lovely things about her didn't we? It was unanimous.
Waves at both MaryAnns.
Hopes sincerely that the GBBO Mary Ann is back and will name-change and out herself just for the thread (it's ok, she can change back at other times to maintain her anonymity). She could be our pundit, our Claire Balding of Baking?

Grin @ the Clare Balding of baking !!
A friend of mine is related to Mary Berry - her mum is MB's cousin.....

Jo's Facebook page

Holly's Facebook page - she has a great blogs and recipes that she links to and released a free e-book last month which is great :)

I did also follow Jae's blog for a while but I can't remember what it was now.

I hate baking, I hate cookery programmes but I absolutely love this Confused. I have no idea why, it's just so...nice.

Though I gave to say last years contestants weren't up to much, my gran could have beaten them hands down.

I'm ridiculously happy that it's back!

I can't stand Paul or Mary (but love Sue and Mel) but that adds to the appeal.

Gosh I'm SO excited - it's been a good few days for baking, as I recently picked my shiny red KitchenAid mixer and now GBBO is about to start. Wahey!
I bought the book at the end of last series and it's really good isn't it? Mary Berry knows her stuff. And oh, yes, I have the biggest girl-crush on Sue Perkins.
It's a great night to own a television Grin
