Bloddy hell, just got back from picking up my DD, getting some shopping in, and thought the final had finished 'cos they were showing the mens' doubles final. Total panic trying to find out who had won. Phew, DD amusing herself with my iPhone, I've got munchies and some irn bru v patriotic to keep me going for when it resumes.

Off to put my shopping away 1st. Just don't start again 'til I'm done wimbledon.

Got to say, if Murray were playing anyone else, I'd be with him. But I do lurve Federer - just such an elegant, unruffled player. And I would love to see him win today.

gilberte, 'match-player's match' has been Castle's phrase of the Championships. He's been saying it all the fecking time. He clearly lit on it and decided to use it to death.

Tim Henman's phrase over Wimbledon has been 'bringing it to', as in 'Andy is bringing it to Tsonga at the moment.' He loves it. I get the impression he's quite pleased with himself for coming up with it. Bless.

DS1 before the match started predicted the score. He said first set to Murray 6-4, second set to Federer 7-5.

To answer you Nancy - not that I know feck all - I guess it's habit and they're just used to it from way back when. When they're practising, they prob like to keep a few about their person as there wouldn't be any ball boys.
