Is this the best drama on bbc since state of play?

I have to admit to being partial to Lennon James, but I think they're all great, even including Neil morrissey.
I just hope they don't cop out over the remaining episodes as bbc dramas often seem to.
Anyone?

I thought the first one was good, the second less so and in true BBC style will probably be total crap by the end! I loved Bodies and have watched because of that but I will carry on watching and hopefully be proved wrong.

wanttomakeadifference · 06/07/2012 09:33

I'm really enjoying it. I really hope it has a decent ending though. I've also been really disappointed by the endings of several recent dramas. Their endings have either been very implausible or have left too many loose ends hanging.

Fingers crossed!!

stainesmassif · 06/07/2012 10:08

I missed bodies. I am pinning my hopes on this series. Why do the bbc ALWAYS ruin the last half of a series?

Ps LENNIE James. Ffs autocorrect.

Just caught up with the second episode - I was not expecting that!

Davros · 08/07/2012 20:06

it went a bit silly

stainesmassif · 08/07/2012 21:05

Noooooooooooo it can't be going silly already. No. No.

Davros · 08/07/2012 22:01

I thought it did but I will still watch

stainesmassif · 08/07/2012 22:06

Tbh I found my credulity a little stretched at the very end of last week but I'm just going to ignore that feeling.

I love it.

Especially the idea that people don't have to be corrupt to do harm.

The ones who are unimaginative, lazy, careerists or arse-coverers are the ones to watch out for.

diddl · 10/07/2012 21:08

Hopefully Kate´ll figure it out!

Loathe Gates!

cocolepew · 10/07/2012 22:44

Im worried they'll be onto kate.

I love it.

stainesmassif · 10/07/2012 23:17

I haven't watched it yet!! No spoilers!! Say what you like about gates but I luurve lennie James.

OP posts:
hifi · 10/07/2012 23:49

I noticed lennies knock knees tonight,it put me right off him.

diddl · 11/07/2012 08:29

Gates is too smug for me.

Although none of them really likeable?

stainesmassif · 11/07/2012 10:45

This is all going horribly wrong. I like the unlikeability, IMO that's people. Tho I 'like' Adrian Dunbar's character v much.
Stop being mean about lennie's legs!

limitedperiodonly · 11/07/2012 14:43

Just watched it. I love it even more.

CAn someone help with something from the beginning? Did the young AC bloke (I forget everyone's name except Tony Gates and Jackie Laverty) give the order to go in the suspected terrorist's flat?

What I mean is, was the address given correctly and the AC directed them to the wrong flat because of the upside-down number? Or was it given incorrectly because they were acting on information given by surveillance officers who'd got mixed up about the numbers?

Don't understand why no one just says. Or is it that the bloke who played Stella's brother in Stella hates to have his team admit mistakes in case they come back on him?

I think I've got the rest of it which is pretty good for me. But I always keep things on planner in case a re-run is needed. So though I've got the plot I'll have a look at Lennie's legs.

bronze · 11/07/2012 14:44

Watched the first one and cancelled the series link

limitedperiodonly · 11/07/2012 14:45

It's on iplayer, isn't it? Worth watching.

diddl · 11/07/2012 14:53

The address was given correctly.

Arnott-the young one-was still outside I think so whoever was inside mis read the number.

Or rather read it correctly as it looked like 56 as the 9 was hanging down.

BUT-more importantly (imo)-the man had a baby sling/carrier on him which was interpreted as him having a bomb strapped on him.

Where it not for that, then maybe no shots would have been fired?

limitedperiodonly · 11/07/2012 14:57

Ah! Why not just say? I know why not btw. It's because most people
think it's better not to admit to mistakes.

Gates is finding out now that sometimes it's better to tell the truth and take the punishment Wink

diddl · 11/07/2012 15:00

Not say because not only did they go into the wrong flat, they also mistook a baby carrier for a bomb vest?

limitedperiodonly · 11/07/2012 15:07

Also, I noticed that Lennie James is a bit unfit and was making heavy weather of chasing the Range Rover. That didn't bother me because I thought it was right for a middle-aged bloke.

DH, who is obsessed with fitness and running style, wouldn't have stopped whining about it so I'd have missed the rest. I saved it till today when he was at work for that very reason.

This has happened too many times for me to mention. Likewise him nitpicking about irrelevant details in other shows - he refused to watch the second season of Game of Thrones because he was disgusted that the baby dragons at the end of the first were cute.

Apparently everyone knows dragons aren't cute. No, everyone knows dragons are mythical creatures, so they can be whatever they like.

We don't watch much TV together any more.

limitedperiodonly · 11/07/2012 15:09

Ah, diddl. Did they take the baby sling off him so the decision to shoot him
didn't look so bad?

diddl · 11/07/2012 15:41

Can´t remember tbh.

But iirc the guy who shot him was a little "trigger happy"?
