Is this the best drama on bbc since state of play?

I have to admit to being partial to Lennon James, but I think they're all great, even including Neil morrissey.
I just hope they don't cop out over the remaining episodes as bbc dramas often seem to.
Anyone?

I was getting annoyed about all the emphasis on the glass he removed from the house. Why didn't he just bung it in a recycling bin?

cocolepew · 12/07/2012 10:50

Why did he keep the glass instead of smashing it to smithereens?

limitedperiodonly · 12/07/2012 12:19

True. The glass is a yawning plot hole

LineRunner · 12/07/2012 16:42

I think he wants to be caught, deep down.

Goingunderfast · 12/07/2012 16:45

When is the next episode? I watched on catch up and enjoyed that but hate waiting Grin

diddl · 12/07/2012 16:46

Did I imagine the glass being taken out of a dishwasher at his workplace?

What´s that about, then?

cocolepew · 12/07/2012 16:50

I suppose it's hiding it in plain view IYSWIM but I still don't see the point of it. Apart from it can be found and finish the series Smile

Its on tuesday @9 goingunder.

LineRunner · 12/07/2012 16:52

It's repeated Sunday, and shown on Tuesday, I think.

Gates appears to have taken the glass into the police station and put it in the dishwasher.

Goingunderfast · 12/07/2012 17:00

Thank you Smile i look forward to it

diddl · 12/07/2012 17:01

But won´t someone recognise it?

cocolepew · 12/07/2012 17:02

I still would have took a hammer to it and throw the pieces all over town. I would be a good criminal.

stainesmassif · 12/07/2012 18:41

I'm afraid it's gone a bit meh for me already. The glass in the dishwasher was just rid ic u lous. I was enjoying the characterisation but last episode was all stupid plot twists. Bloody bbc. Mind you, the young kid - great actor, he's hateful!!

The other thing that annoyed me (am I thinking about this too much? Grin) was that Gates was hit on the head hard enough to knock him out for a while. Why were there no marks, bruises, swelling etc on his head afterwards?

stainesmassif · 12/07/2012 23:17

Because he's nails!

limitedperiodonly · 12/07/2012 23:33

There's that Idontknow. His face would be smashed and he would be a touch concussed. I still want to like it even though I don't fancy Lennie James a bit.

slartybartfast · 14/07/2012 09:23

and why didnt lenni tell the truth, he told half the truth, or some of it.
so it is not making sense
and the young AC bloke seems very jumped up

Duvunder · 17/07/2012 10:02

Agree it hasn't quite lived up to the first episode, but it's still a good watch and has some interesting ideas. I LOVE Adrian Dunbar in this, he is sooooo believable.

diddl · 17/07/2012 22:07

Well that was a bit too much for me.

So Gates would rather someone die than admit his own involvement?

Do we think that the order to leave the surveillance early wasn´t from Gates?

Is Adrian Dunbar really the baddie??

cocolepew · 17/07/2012 22:13

Good grief! I kept waiting for Gates to gave a change of heart. He's an idiot to think he'll ever be out of their pockets.

The wee kid in it is a total git isn't he?

diddl · 17/07/2012 22:16

Oh & the Neil Morrissey character-what a bastard!

Surprised Fleming didn´t think to say that she had a work phone & a personal phone.

Pretty obvious she´d get found out, though & I´m surprised Gates didn´t seem to suspect her.

wanttomakeadifference · 17/07/2012 22:21

I'm assuming Gates has only sunk this low in a desperate bid to protect his daughters- presumably the 'baddies' will or have threatened them.

Yes that young lad is a nasty piece of work.

The two 'bobbies on the beat' make me laugh- they are like a double act.

cocolepew · 17/07/2012 22:44

I hope the female bobby gets her comeuppence. I don't like her.
Gates is starting to unravel. I don't know what to make of Adrian Dunbar. I can't figure out if he's bad or just likes to fire his officers up and let them loose.

wanttomakeadifference · 17/07/2012 22:46

I'm confused as to who is meant to be the bad and good people. Blush

Tidybush · 17/07/2012 22:55

I love it and get quite excited saddo when I recognise the places in Birmingham where it's filmed.

Goingunderfast · 18/07/2012 07:29

Yes I'm thinking Dunbar is in with the Scottish guy on the phone and works with them and thats how he worked off his debts!
