I love American telly - love Mad Men, Good Wife, CSI, NCIS, Criminal Minds etc.
My brother just lent me the box set of season 1-7 of the West Wing.
I don't know anyone whose watched this although am obviously aware of it's critical acclaim.

Anyone?

RedHot - I will join you on the large WW thread where spoilers abound.

notyummy · 25/04/2012 21:00

God YES. It is utterly brilliant. Only Battlestar Galatica has approached it in the ability up keep DH and I glued to the sofa episode after guilty episode.

I love Josh.

Tee2072 · 25/04/2012 21:02

tribpot I can't find that one, can you link, please?

ghosteditor · 25/04/2012 21:04

Wink the poor chap is in a war zone though (he's military); I'd feel like such a meanie. Maybe I could just pretend Wink.

After DD was born we watched all of Gilmore Girls in about 10 weeks! Plus we've finished all of Trek, Stargate, Battlestar, Grey's Anatomy, X-Files, Xena etc in the last few years [loser-face]. TV sucks, DVD rules Grin

ghosteditor · 25/04/2012 21:06

Xpost notyummy, BSG is dark and clever and awesomes Smile

notyummy · 25/04/2012 21:12

So say we all Ghost. I have girl crush on Starbucks. I am ex RAF and DH is still serving. All the details of the viper dog fights in BSG are EXACTLY correct in military terms- the briefing/radio protocol/ manoeuvres. Just another reason why I love it.

tribpot · 25/04/2012 21:13

This is the main West Wing thread but BE WARNED - DO NOT READ if you are new to TWW, it's completely full of spoilers.

Limelight · 25/04/2012 21:16

My DH works has a sort of political job and he once told me that he thought he was like Josh. I think he was just trying to divert my attention from, you know, Josh.

Now if he'd just bought me a book on alpine skiing he might have got somewhere... Wink

birdofthenorth · 25/04/2012 21:20

Jealous! Wish I was enjoying it again for the first time! You owe your brother big time Grin

ghosteditor · 25/04/2012 21:23

Yep, they're just soooo pretty in BSG, love starbuck! DH is also a pilot but has never commented on the terminology - he's probably too distracted by Caprica Six...

But back to WW! So do we love Josh and not Sam then?

notyummy · 25/04/2012 21:24

Sam's too pretty. I prefer Josh's manly forearms, rolled up shirt sleeves and rumpled charm.

RedHotPokers · 25/04/2012 21:34

Great tribpot. Have posted. Am in need of ww company!

Pancakeflipper · 25/04/2012 21:35

But I love Sam's Tshirts under his shirts.

I didn't lurve Sam until the series when he left and then I left the lurvely Josh for Sam but then drifted between them both.

MardyBra · 26/04/2012 07:25

Fiderer am on Series 4. Now I know what your name is about!

Tee2072 · 26/04/2012 07:47

I can't believe OliviaMN hasn't popped onto this thread yet! She has much Sam love.

Usually you mention WW on MN and she comes running. Grin

I actually prefer Toby to Sam or Josh, but I always love the curmudgeon!

MardyBra · 26/04/2012 08:22

I have to say that I've not been enjoying Series 3 and 4 as much as the first two. Am only a few episodes into 4. Still v good though.

Fiderer · 26/04/2012 08:36

I know what you mean, MardyBra. Each series has its own flavour, some I've liked more at a second viewing, some less.

Like Fiderer, found her annoying at first, look at me now Grin

MardyBra · 26/04/2012 15:52

Oh I'm liking Fiderer from the start.

I was a bit disappointed with the end of series 3. Without going into details of the plot, I felt that the audience's emotions were being manipulated a bit too clumsily.

CaveMum · 26/04/2012 21:01

So OP, what did you think? Grin

EllenRose · 02/05/2012 13:44

Oooh, want to know if OP liked it now. Lovely to be amongst fellow WW nuts

ClaireDeTamble · 02/05/2012 13:55

Oohhh you guys - I'm gonna have to watch it again now.

It is the only series that both DH and I have loved from start to end. DH isn't a big telly fan and tends to get bored halfway through series.

I've just watched the Criminal Minds re-run on Sky and watched Game of Thrones from the beginning and was looking for something else to watch.

I [heart] Josh too!

MotherOfSuburbia · 02/05/2012 14:30

Many, many years ago when someone lent us the videos (that's how long ago it was) of the first two series, we spent pretty much all of our holiday doing the "just one more episode" routine. So much so that when people asked us where we went on holiday we felt like replying "Washington".

must go and get on with stuff and ignore the WW box set calling to me from the cupboard for the umpteenth time

snappysnappy · 02/05/2012 15:27

Lucky you. I would love to have WW to watch with fresh eyes.

Although I loved Toby, I always Matt Santos was the most swoony and he wife was so bloody moany!

snappysnappy · 02/05/2012 15:28

God my spelling - bloody ipad

I always thought Matt Santos was the most swoony and his wife was so bloody moany!
