The West Wing, should I?

I love American telly - love Mad Men, Good Wife, CSI, NCIS, Criminal Minds etc.
My brother just lent me the box set of season 1-7 of the West Wing.
I don't know anyone whose watched this although am obviously aware of it's critical acclaim.

Anyone?

Despite her total lack of charisma and stupid hair, that is indeed a good line!

Not as good as 'I am the Lord your God. Thou shalt worship no other God before me'. Absolutely the best character introduction in televisual history!

The best thing about Mandy was that she wasn't in series 2-7.

It's a brilliant show. I've just started S3 for the millionth time.

god West Wing is brilliant watched it several times now and now actually thinking of starting to watch it again!! Just remembered my crush on Josh mmmmmm lol :)

Do it. DH loves American politics and made me watch it - and then regretted it as I drooled over Josh the snappy script for the whole time....

It's amazing.

Oh great, does Mandy bugger off? I've just watched season one for the first time and am about to embark on the other six seasons of West Wingy goodness. CJ however is an absolute legend, love her!

Am currently at the season one closer and can't wait to see what's next (no spoilers please...)

Yes watch it. And you will always get a teary eye when you hear Brothers in Arms by Dire Straits after years of thinking it's abit of a naff song ( or is that just me???)

Mandy does not leave. She just disappears never to be spoken of again.

In fact I don't even think she's in that episode.

Ghost - don't worry, there's no big plot to spoiler re Mandy. They just realised she was crap and quietly make her disappear (in fan circles 'to Mandyville').

My advice is watch it then watch it again and again and again....

I have watched it s1 -> s7 several times, most recently last year and am about to cue both that and ER up for viewing when dealing with cluster feeding/middle of the night marathon feeding sessions with DS2 (due any day now).

I love it although I find there are some weaker episodes/story lines in the later seasons compared to the earlier ones (think it was after Aaron Sorkin left).

I saw an interview with Zoe Ball, or was it Norman Cook, where they said that was a source of tension in their family too Ghost. No cheating on the box sets!

Thank god, a WW thread! I finished season 7 last week, and tried to revive the large WW thread, to no avail! Am still mourning the end of my first complete viewing .

I'm another one just about to start! I caught the odd episode when it was on but never managed to watch it regularly. I just bought the box set yesterday and I'm so looking forward to it now.
