I'm all confused - I thought August was talking to teenage girl who was killed - a previous girlfriend? and that TT was pretending to be that girl. Anyway, August is in for the chop - no doubt. Who can help me out? Who is Frieda/computer blogger?

Mette is also being duped for sure - creepy, someone wants their own back on Martin.Maybe he did sleep with Killer's wife - interesting.

Enjoy Saga's asperger's side story - really nicely done, different perspective and all. Her 'boyfriend' just another side story or will something happen to him too?

Gripping stuff but losing some of it - plot more tricky than "the killing".sO grey and drab and some of it is left unsaid. Subtitles quite brief too.

Looking forward to next week though.

Teejwood, I am in awe of your attention to detail. How do you know that the journalist dropped the story for a pay rise? I think I'm missing a lot because of my inability to remember things from one week to the next.

Agree that August's online friend is probably TT and there has to be history between Martin and Jens - Martin is so twitchy whenever this is mentioned. Also August is very easy on the eye don't you think? Far too young for me though unfortunately
After The Killing and the two policemen, it seems that there are lots of torture dungeons in Scandi land - maybe IKEA sells the kit...

grumpy i seem to recall torture rooms in the "girl with the dragon tattoo" books, too, so they must be terribly common. it really doesn't go with the mid-century modern furniture, though, so they have to hide them away

also agree with you that martin gets twitchy when jens is mentioned. what has he not told saga (and probably mette)? it's likely to be shagging jens' missus, i agree, given that jens may be trying to prick martin's conscience via august. or maybe he just finds martin's lack of involvement in august's life unforgiveable given that jens himself would have done anything to have his son in his life. or perhaps he feels that martin let him down with a lack of support for the investigation?

agent i am alightly obsessed, yes re daniel it was in the last ep (8) when they were discussing the case of jens' wife and son, towards the end. let me find it on iplayer and i'll tell you where it is.

right. about 48 minutes into ep 8, martin and saga are interviewing the other journo. he says that daniel was at the same party as sixten rockstad in copenhagen the night of the accident on the bridge. daniel went back to quiz staff at the party about how much sixten had had to drink, about whether he had left in the car or if someone else had taken it.
daniel never wrote up the story, nor told anyone else what he had found out. the next day he was offered "a good job, well paid, free housing. he left the next day". so it was agreed between the journo, saga and martin that he had been "paid off". hence why he was on jens' list to be offed.

teejwood: maybe Sixten was high on drugs and not drunk and Daniel supplied it...? If someone else had left in the car instead, maybe Daniel knew them as they would have been at the same party. Also what about the fact that all the companies that were torched had shares owned by Jens' wife - how does that link to Charlotte? (Or have I got that bit wrong?)

grumpy - i think the companies were actually linked to Ida Rocksted, Sixten's mother, which is why he targeted them.

Jens targeted Charlotte's husband because he evicted him in 2004. the details were in the "black file" that Charlotte handed over to Martin, but they didn't follow up as they thought Jens was dead.

also - iirc daniel's death was all about him being paid off, valuing money over the truth - that is what TT said to him on the phone just before he bumped him off?

teejwood-please can you refresh my memory-is Sixten the son in the car crash who disappeared? I am in awe too of your grasp of this -I feel like I'm watching a different programme sometimes!

I'm liking the Charlotte theory. I also wonder if the clue is in the last lien of the title song- goes back to the beginning, meaning that it was someone in those first few scenes which would also lead to Charlotte.

The other thing I have been pondering is that when TT was talking to Daniel in the car, he knew that Daniel had torched the last company. We saw that Daniel told this to his colleague but no-one else.

Forget my query re Sixten-just realised he was the drunk driver on the bridge who killed Jen's wife---I think!

I think Charlotte is too young to be Jens, sorry. I also assumed she is wearing a wig because she is Jewish (though absolutely no reference made to that so far).

I am pretty much certain that Martin slept with Jens' wife, possibly that was why she was on the bridge when she died- she was leaving Jens perhaps?

Could a skandi-phile please tell me- is Sixten Rockstad (possibly the coolest name ever, sounds like rockstar!) a male or female?

I love the title track, particularly the bit over the end credits...

...also, if Charlotte was Jens... then why would she have placed the body on the bridge the night before she was due to drive over to CPH in an ambulance with her beloved DH to get a new heart, when the killer would know that the bridge would be closed by the investigation? Also... the killer did not know Mr. Söringer had died.

yup, tann - much though i love the idea of martin shagging jens in the guise of charlotte, i think the inference is that charlotte was with her hubby when he kicked jens out of his house, so that does not quite work and the superb point about not knowing that mr soringer was dead.

re the wig - i think that the inference is she puts on a mask (or in her case a wig) and so is hiding her true self. (that is a recurring motif through the series - especially with TT!) with charlotte, she can certainly act tough but she is also quite brittle. she was vulnerable both in her need for her husband's love and in being able to trust her step-daughter to be on her side. she was caught out on both counts.

similarly, samurai-guy adopted a new persona for himself (albeit because of his lack of meds!). jesper was on the one hand rewarded for his youth work while simultaneously brutalising vulnerable girls/women. daniel was the advocate of free living and freedom of speech who could be bought. stefan would go out of his way to help people, but also could kill in cold blood and dispose (badly) of the body. and jens, i think we are discovering, is both dead and alive.

btw - Sixten was male. No knowledge, just referred to as him in the dialogue

oh and i'm still plumping for sebastian being TT

maybe TT is a hacker - which would explain how he knows so much - although perhaps I am too influenced by the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo here. I think he is pretending to be August's ex online, in which case what has happened to her?

Yes Daffodilly- Sebastian is the software/IT salesman who went to Mette's office. Glad to see other people getting confused over the names(!!)I have to think really hard sometimes when reading this thread.
