Think it's in the top 10 of weird Doctors stories!

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 29/03/2012 14:07

I am totally confused.

Raahh · 29/03/2012 14:07

Me too. why has lobby bloke been invited to lunch?

Sparklingbrook · 29/03/2012 14:08

Was about to ask the same Raahh. As well as 'why are we watching this? Grin

Raahh · 29/03/2012 14:09

'Why are we watching this'? should be the tag-line of the showGrin

Sparklingbrook · 29/03/2012 14:11

This has got to top the handbag story.

What a load of crap. Grin

We are missing stuff at the practice I'm sure. Angry

vix1980 · 29/03/2012 14:12

Im so glad its not just me who watches this crap, believe it or not im dying for a wee and yet cant physically move off the couch until its finished, god knows why i wouldnt miss anything!

Raahh · 29/03/2012 14:12

What i don't understand is, why elaine went armed with a wheelchair in the first place?

Poor elaine- she's pulled, and he's off to DubaiGrin

Sparklingbrook · 29/03/2012 14:13

Oh no. The Hollins are back tomorrow. Sad

Raahh · 29/03/2012 14:13

well- normal service resumed tomorrow, then!

travellingwilbury · 29/03/2012 14:13

That was definetely odder than the handbag story .

Gobby is back tomorrow Grin

Sparklingbrook · 29/03/2012 14:14

They should have a 'if you have been affected by anything in today's programme' and give you a number to ring to ask about the storyline. Grin

Sparklingbrook · 29/03/2012 14:15

I would struggle to explain today's episode to someone who didn't see it. Confused

Sparklingbrook · 29/03/2012 14:19

Oh no, I didn't switch off straight away and a drama has now started with Karen from Outnumbered and Suzie Blake in it, and i think a bloke who may have been in Corrie.

HJisgoingtogoBOOM · 29/03/2012 15:01

I'm 10 mims in& havent a clue. Can someone fill in the gaps?

Raahh · 29/03/2012 15:48

I didn't understand todays episode. Confused.

I think interfering Elaine tried to get her two sisters to get together after feud. But, she didn't know that the sisters had been telling elaborate lies about each other to their spouses. I wasn't sure if one sister was actually having an affair, or just using trips to 'sick' sister as a way to get a break from her husband in the middle of this is random man, whose flight to Dubai has been cancelled.

I can't even write it down coherently!

It was all ridiculously farcical, and not in a remotely funny way. Man in Lobby looked like a nice bloke, maybe Elaine will leave the Mill and run off to Dubai....

valiumredhead · 29/03/2012 16:02

Did they really put an actor in a wheel chair and tell her to pretend to have MS? WTAF? I am beyond angry - I can't believe anyone would write that in a script as an attempt at humour. Quite Angry about it!

Sparklingbrook · 29/03/2012 16:30

I would love to fill you in but I although I watched it from beginning to end I have no clue HJ.

I thought the same as you Valium but I didn't know what to write so I didn't. I actually thought there may be complaints TBH.

I am sure the MS Society would not be happy. Sad Plus the whole wheelchair bad accident stuff was ill judged too.

valiumredhead · 29/03/2012 16:31

I turned it off after the wheel chair bit I was so cross. It was SO badly done, so insulting. I am frothing about it!

Sparklingbrook · 29/03/2012 16:33

Can you imagine if Eastenders or Corrie did it valium? There would be uproar.

valiumredhead · 29/03/2012 16:36

Yes there bloody would be! I have never written and complained but I just might. It was so ill thought out.

I had to spend 3 months in a chair after an accident and I loathe any 'funny japes' to do with wheel chairs now. Johnny English racing around London in his latest film pissed me right off too!

Sparklingbrook · 29/03/2012 16:37

From the actions the 'actress' was doing MS didn't spring to mind. Sad

valiumredhead · 29/03/2012 16:40

Well exactly and Elaine did point that out but honestly, what WERE they thinking?!

Sparklingbrook · 29/03/2012 16:43

I can feel an e-mail coming on. I may do it.

Raahh · 29/03/2012 16:46

sparkling- I thought that too- 'Elaine' even said to her that she's obviously never met anyone with ms. I can't really work out what the intention was, if it was meant to be funny, it was way off the mark.

In fact, it was all very reminiscent of a non-pc 70's sitcom. All that was missing was the 'hysterical' canned laughterHmm

valiumredhead · 29/03/2012 16:46

I mean, we would rip into our kids if they did that, wouldn't we?
