It's ok, Deirdre will come through in time for the Christmas Day episode. So just a week of suffering for poor Becky then.

celebmum · 19/12/2011 20:05

Phew! Grin

Totally unbelieveable.

If she was supposed to be five months pregnant with twins, why was she still not in hospital after having given birth to them?

froggers1 · 19/12/2011 20:13

Also - I am 5 months pregnant and the size of a house..she didn't even look pregnant!

OrwellianNightmare · 19/12/2011 20:14

Good point deemented. I'm a bit fed up of all the crap thrown at Becky to be honest. I want to see something nice happen to her.

celebmum - I'm hazarding, but Deirdre better had come through, she can't have that on her conscience! What mum would?

EdithWeston · 19/12/2011 21:03

I've just caught up on ITV+1.

It's not been a very plausible pregnancy any stage: I meant they haven't paid even lip service to it being extremely high risk (they're ignoring her backstory, which includes a kidney transplant).

I wish it were Becky staying and Tracey leaving. Becky is returning to what she was before they did the awful (and over sudden) character change; I'd really like to see more of her journey. Tracey is ever more pantomime; a bad fit in this soap.

Having read some spoilers (are they welcome on this thread?) I fear that there are going to be more than just this going badly wrong.

ssd · 19/12/2011 21:05

what did she say then??
havent seen it tonight
did she tell Amy to go upstairs and wash her hands for the millionth time?

EdithWeston · 19/12/2011 21:09

She told Steve that Becky had pushed her downstairs (she hadn't), and that "Becky had killed the babies" (she had miscarried the previous day, nothing to do with the subsequent fall). Deirdre is the only person, aside from hospital staff, who knows when the miscarriage really happened.

Clawdy · 20/12/2011 21:32

Deirdre will not give Tracey away, she never does.

monkeyLFDTwench · 20/12/2011 22:51

Hang on, didn't Tracey do this before? I mean obviously apart from the time she brained Charlie Stubbs and then claimed it was self defence?

Haziedoll · 20/12/2011 22:54

Why was Steve not at the hospital with her? (haven't seen Corrie) for a while.

EdithWeston · 21/12/2011 01:26

a) when she really miscarried, it was because he had been out without her (securing a new hotel contract for Streetcars), and the miscarriage was remarkably quick, and she wasn't kept in (despite her complex medical history)
b) after the fall the next day, he rushed to hospital asap; she told him when he arrived that she had miscarried and lied about both the timing and Becky's involvement.

LineRunnerCrouchingReindeer · 21/12/2011 15:36

Deirdre will tell Ken with that big glum quizzical look on her face, and Ken will eventually tell Steve. But probably after Becky's gone (and back to proper acting).

shoddyandolder · 21/12/2011 15:39

ALl the Tracy Barlow stuff is ridiculous She has had a kidney transplant and it has had no impact on her health while pregnant at all!

LineRunnerCrouchingReindeer · 21/12/2011 16:16

I'd forgotten that she had a kidney transplant. Who was the donor?

shoddyandolder · 21/12/2011 16:18

Don't know but my mum donated a kidney to me and is an avid street fan and says it is never mentioned and she has no issues with her health/fertility as a result!

ShredMeJillianIWantToBeNatalie · 21/12/2011 16:31

Deirdre's husband (Samir?) - they conveniently killed him off so he could be Tracey's donor. What luck that he was a match! Hmm

two4one · 21/12/2011 16:46

She's a terrible actress. The "I've lost my babies" wail and "Why did it have to happen" and "Was it my fault"??? It just sounded so hammed up.

Also, bizarre camera angle for that scene with her and Deirdre, I could see so far up all their nostrils I could almost read their thoughts.

LineRunnerCrouchingReindeer · 22/12/2011 00:31

Samir was her donor?? Oh FFS.

lilyliz · 22/12/2011 19:04

let Becky win the lottery and go off somewhere and get Tracy back in prison (what happened to that story anyway)

AmIthatbad · 22/12/2011 20:16

monkey, yes did she not accuse Becky of assaulting her earlier in the year, even though it was Mousy Claire. I seem to recall Becky getting remanded in jail for it (or am I remembering wrong?)

ShredMeJillianIWantToBeNatalie · 22/12/2011 20:57

I think so AmI. Tracey wouldn't be believed if Mother Teresa was her corroborating witness.

EdithWeston · 22/12/2011 21:12

Tracey was let out of soapland gaol on grounds that are just plain wrong in term of English law. It was an inaccurately-founded story line that always grates on me when I think about it (especially as she's such a poor character).

In short, her conviction was "quashed" owing to the discrediting of the scientist who gave forensic evidence at the trial. Snag 1: Tracey's defence did not dispute the forensic evidence: Snag 2: Tracey admitted under oath that she had struck the fatal blows. So her conviction simply would not have been considered unsound as the forensic evidence was not in doubt. (She attempted a fake DV defence).

She really does need to be written out asap.

LineRunnerCrouchingReindeer · 23/12/2011 18:30

I remember Samir now. Deirdre was 'Mrs Rashid' was she not when she went down for John Lindsey, so to speak (the Tie Rack pilot), and Tony Blair and the Sun freed the Wetherfield One.

LineRunnerCrouchingReindeer · 23/12/2011 18:32

As wise as ever, EdithWeston. She certainly never disputed the blows, just claimed that she had been "Right scared, mam, I were terrified of 'im."
