Does anyone on mn watch Neighbours? I need to register my disgust of Mal Kennedy

I know, I know, but Neighbours is the only soap I watch, my one guilty pleasure. I'm catching up online at the moment and can't believe how hideous Mal is, sleazy and needy over Jade and being a horrid married man. Does anyone else watch this crap programme to the extent they feel the need to comment on any of the characters as if they were actually real people?

There was a woman sat in the corner of the exam room, if I recall correctly. I did wonder why she didn't take Summer to the loo. I haven't watched today's episode, so I think that will be the incentive for me to go and peel the potatoes for tea (then I'll deserve a treat).

JaneB 2nd generation cuntitude, I love it. It also explains Ben Mitchell and Saaaw-phie Webster.

Does anyone remember A Country Practice? It is the Law of Australian Acting that they've all been in that when younger. It's quite disorientating.

alemci · 09/12/2011 17:54

yes the exam invigilating was a joke and the students were sat so close together. There would be a female member of staff taking Summer to the loo.

mulledwineoutdoors · 09/12/2011 17:54

No , no, Mal is far worse than Jade. Yes, she should get her act together and get with Kyle instead of that creep, but Mal is married and creepy and seems really boring too. I hope he gets found out and ends up with no one.

I just watched Wednesdays episode and Kate was being horrible to Andrew about how he needs to help Summer find something else to do a project on. What a cow!

I thought the actor that played Drew in H&A was a nurse

InWithTheITCrowd · 10/12/2011 10:25

Why is Kate a teacher? She's just had her 18th birthday... she wasn't even old enough to be allowed to be a guardian for Sophie, and I'm pretty sure she's the same age as Andrew, who she teaches... also, why is she working in the coffee shop?
I know i'm over thinking this, but how many hours are in a Neighbours day? They always seem to get so much done before brekkie/school/work during lunch/school/work and evenings go on forever.
I love this thread :)

InWithTheITCrowd · 10/12/2011 10:26

And why is she teaching history? Hmmm?

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 10/12/2011 11:16

She's at university, doing a degree in education, I assume, and is working in the school as a student teacher. But she can only be in her first year at university, so it is a bit odd that she's allowed to teach with no supervision at all.

Mind you, I'd love my kids to be going to that school - the class sizes are so small - there look to be about 20 kids in the average class, which is a pretty good pupil:teacher ratio.

javo · 10/12/2011 12:08

Yes the nurse was in h&a. Last week at Rhys' barbecue we were told the nurse was gay so I suppose now that "Freckles" is 18 he is going to get a gay relationship with the nurse. Michael is such a crap head. I don't understand what is so shocking about Michael's wife drowning - what a non story. I was annoyed that the female member didn't take Summer to the toilet too. Summer was late for the exam as she had gone to the toilet - so only technically went once during the actual exam (what a sad case am I?)

neighbours is sooo boring atm. Hate the Mal and Jade story.

anonacfr · 10/12/2011 14:54

The wife drowning story might have been interesting if he had been accused of murdering her.
As it is just a tragic accident and it would have been much more rational to tell Tash years before instead of lying about it.

lazarusinNazareth · 10/12/2011 16:37

Sorry - didn't see the woman in the room. I was an invigilator until not so long ago, there was always at least 2 or 3 of us, even with a small number of students, definitely not teachers (in case of allegations of cheating) and we never sat down, certainly didn't fiddle about with books/laptops etc.

Liked the way Andrew, Summer and Chris were also allowed out of school to go to the Hospital in the middle of the day too!

deepandcrispandsevenfold · 10/12/2011 16:55

shiney does have someone in the room when she is "teaching" there is normally a blank faced extra in the corner

alemci · 10/12/2011 18:33

I assumed Kate was older than 18 or maybe she just looks it.

HeadsRollingInTheAisles · 10/12/2011 22:50

I'm sure the next thing is Michael and Amelia were having affair at time his wife died?

deepandcrispandsevenfold · 10/12/2011 22:51

that would be too exciting for Micheal

schroeder · 10/12/2011 22:54

Yes to that Head- maybe even he saved her first. Shock

Charliebigpotatoes · 10/12/2011 23:24

I was just about to see what everyone thought the Michael/Emelia thing was all about! That would be exciting if he had saved Emilia first!!!! Can't wait to find out though I'm sure they will drag it out for months!!

deepandcrispandsevenfold · 10/12/2011 23:25

oh I thought he saved Tash and because of that her mum drowned

InWithTheITCrowd · 11/12/2011 00:46

But shiney kate just took, and buggered up, her final observation. She was all nervous because if she passed then she would be qualified. She got a reprieve for a non-reason to do with her grieving for copper ex-boyf (of 5 mins) but it was def her final observation. Never seen her bloody go to Uni either. I hate Neighbours (even though it is.on.series.link)

InWithTheITCrowd · 11/12/2011 00:48

I know i'm not joining in with the proper thread. Sorry. I just hate kate, and no one in rl will talk to me about it.

anonacfr · 11/12/2011 15:17

You know everyone on the Neighbours forums love her for some reason. Her secret is going to come out and everyone there blames whoever blabs for blabbing and they all feel really sorry for Shiny.
Must be an Aussie thing.

mulledwineoutdoors · 11/12/2011 15:22

Why do they feel sorry for her?
I didn't see the episode where it happened but on all the flashbacks it looks like she grabbed him and went in for the kiss. It's not like she responded to a kiss, she initiated it. That makes it her responsibility imho.
It would never have happened if Donna was still around...

OP posts:
anonacfr · 11/12/2011 15:27

Because whoever blabbed is ungrateful (knowing who it is all I can say is Hmm) and that it's going to ruin Saint Shiney's life etc.
She did initiate the whole thing. She was upset about Brennan, sent up to sockhead and when he asked what was wrong she snogged him.

Nice of her to ruin Summer's potential career to save her arse though.
