That's brilliant Dilys - it's not much of an advert for working there is it! When you see it like that, it's a bit depressing to realise how many have gone.

Watched it last night and annoyed DH with theories and questions for some time afterwards. Poor Tariq, another classic spooks demise; no expensive effects just good acting. :(
V worried that Ruth might be the ultimate baddie but really, really hoping not! She has good reason, I predict flashbacks of the little boy.If not she's going to have to betray Harry anyway :(
My initial reaction was that the woman in the clip was Elena - which makes sense with Gavrik already knowing that spy woman was a spy.
Don't trust swishy hair woman, but that may just be because she's not v g actress. I thought maybe Calum was eeevil but he seemed quite concerned on finding Tariq.
Think the woman that swishy hair 'burnt' may consider going double agent for the Russians. She must be supremely pissed off.

Main concern is that MI5 should really provide some sort of risk assessment on new recruits home security - some good locks (+ reminder to use them) a buglar alarm, panic button and cctv. Perhaps advise them not to go for the layout which means they always have to enter through a dimly lit corridor. Some nice bright lights rather than super-low wattage lamps.

Also why did taxi driver not notice ill man in back of cab and then drive off before he'd paid?

LadyMontdore I drove husband mad on Sunday night, kept saying that if I worked for them, I would have 2 addresses, one that looked like home but another flat round the corner that I actually lived in and that if I were spying on a Russian business, I would have money, passport, clothes etc packed and left somewhere else, not home. He thinks I take it waaayyy too seriously but its not like I have anything else to think about with a 6, 3 year old and a 7 month old

Oh no, diddl! There are things called proxy servers, that let your PC pretend to be in another country - though how you get one and what you do with it, I have zero idea.

Well it´s my fault as I didn´t tell him as he hardly ever watches anything.

There´s hardly anything on all week & we all seem to want to watch/record at the same time!

Diddl where are you? Maybe so eons can put it on a USB for you. I'm in the ME. alternatively google for VPN, there are free ones, takes 2 mins to install and you can download anything from the uk.

I´m in Germany.

I thought the woman on the CCTV was Elena (although where were her bodyguards?) Whoever is directing this thing knows about Sacha being H's son, and Harry thinks the only other person who knows is the CIA guy - but Elena (obviously) knows as well. She's the one behind it all. I wonder if she is working for the CIA? (As everyone knows the CIA are a dishonourable bunch.)

I hope Harry and Ruth retire into the sunset together (not likely though).

Meanwhile, whilst backstage murder takes place, discussion continues in theatre with Moonlight Sonata in the background

It has to Elena!!! Beryl - what you just said there, made it all slot into place! She's double-crossing somebody for some reason which will be made as clear as mud by the end of the series shortly!

I don't get Elena's motive though.

Put herself and son in danger = check
Out a number of spies with no connection to her = check

I can't work out a motive yet. It appears to be someone who either wants the russian partnership to fail or has a vendetta against MI5, or both.

That dodgy American is obviously involved too somewhere along the way!! It all has to end up with harry leaving that's the only forego conclusion though I'd say!

I entirely agree it was surprising that the taxi driver was not interested in any payment, I was also surprised that Callum attempted 5 random chest compressions whilst Tariq was still breathing then quit as soon as he stopped, he needs to update his CPR training.

Also I was always wow'd at the efficiency of the spooks IT systems, spooks IT solutions normally save the world in a nanosecond, they'll be sorry now tariqs gone and the IT guy puts them in a queue and asks them if the have tried turning it on and off again!

Elena didn't know that she wasn't working for Harry until the ballet though, the laptop was stolen earlier I think, so she may have been carrying out what she thought were orders from him and perhaps didn't know what the laptop contained .

Aha, thanks for the explanation, Beryl! See, I didn't get the importance of the meaningful look after "knows everything" - unless people specifically say what they mean I have trouble following. She needed to say "knows everything - you know, about the fact that we have a kid together" :)

On replay, it does look vair much Elena but I don't want to try and work it out yet, I want to be surprised :)

I think Tariq paid the cabbie inside the cab, I normally do that anyway. BUT why didn't Tariq say 'get me to the Hospital sharpish!' or indeed why did the cabbie not go 'oi mate you're looking a bit peaky, shall I take you to the hospital?'

I think Elena's husband knows everything but I think it was the american who organised the spy reveal because he doesn't want UK and Russia getting cosy.
