I am counting down to Sunday where they show Harry looking over the edge of the building at a nasty car crash below and Lucas legging it down the stairwell

Did I mention that I was the first to say that Elena was behind it all?

shotinfoot · 23/10/2011 22:42

beryl - we are not worthy.

.... and there might be a vacancy for a new section chief Wink

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 23/10/2011 22:45

Am I the only one wondering how that plane landed safely at Heathrow with no comms? The plane was almost into UK airspace, so the pilots would have been expecting directions from UK ATC, and from Heathrow approach control, and there's no way they would have tried to land blind at such a busy airport - how would they even know what runway to use??

And they definitely should have done CPR on Elena and Ruth. It looked like Ilya strangled Elena, rather than breaking her neck, so CPR might have saved her life; and it would have kept blood circulating, and oxygen moving in and out of Ruth's lungs - maybe long enough for the helicopter to have got there. And even if there was little or no chance at all, they would surely still have tried CPR, and carried it on until someone with some more medical knowledge than they've got (which frankly seems so poor that I'm not sure I'd trust them to remove a splinter), told them there was no point carrying on.

I thought Tariq's name should have been on the Spy Wall of Death too - I sort of assumed it was in chronological order, so either an earlier poster is right, and the technogeeks have their own wall, or they forgot him - which is unasseptable!

shotinfoot · 23/10/2011 22:50

I reckon they would have cleared all the airspace in preparation and just let it land on whichever runway it wanted.

Or put a big sign on the grass with a big arrow Grin

PattySimcox · 23/10/2011 22:51

Beryl - suitably impressed with your powers of deduction.

I'm sticking with shot's alternative ending

Caz10 · 23/10/2011 22:52

The blame lies firmly with Elivive Spy, she saw Sascha head off with that big piece of glass and didn't stop him!

Erin was just far too swishey and lip-glossey. And how did she make it to the bunker from the scene they were at so quickly?

I thought that, Beryl - if they could get there in a car that quickly, why would it take a helicopter 12 minutes?

Staverton · 23/10/2011 23:02

It must had been a stab in the heart so CPR wouldn't have helped.

That wall was in m-15 wasn't it not in the russians house... ie all the spies that have died seeing as they've been running Harry for that long...

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 23/10/2011 23:10

Even if they had cleared all the airspace, shotinfoot, they still had no way to let the pilots know that they'd done this, and the pilots wouldn't have dared venture close enough to Heathrow to see that the whole area was clear. My god - this all matters way too much to me - dh and the dses have told me I should Suspend Disbelief. Blush

BerylStreep · 23/10/2011 23:13

I wonder if there is such a job as 'plot quality assurance'?

shotinfoot · 23/10/2011 23:23

SDTG. You are not paying attention. It did not pierce her heart.

She is in a lighthouse.

Got it Wink

BerylStreep · 23/10/2011 23:47

I didn't think it had pierced her lung either - far too low. More likely her stomach or small intestine. Also, no sign of frothy blood around the mouth - always a sure sign of a punctured lung.

bsmirched · 24/10/2011 00:01

Tariq's name wouldn't have been directly above Ruth's, would it as weren't some agents killed when they were supposed to be protecting swishy haired woman's daughter? I assumed Tariq's name was nearer the top of the column that Ruth's name was on, so we just didn't see it?

Really liking the lighthouse and sheep scenario btw!

diddl · 24/10/2011 07:28

I was too busy hoping Harry -and RuthSad would live to notice what was going on.Blush

So the guy on the plane-that was just to make the terrorist story believable so that they would attack the plane?

Why did he kill the stewardess?

ObviouslyOblivious · 24/10/2011 07:44

He was jamming the comms so they would think the plane had been hijacked.

diddl · 24/10/2011 07:50

Yes of course-I can´t believe I asked thatBlush

I think I got confused though as he had a gun(?)

Or did I imagine that?

pARGHssTheTwiglets · 24/10/2011 07:56

Tech Geek Colin's name was on there but definitely not Tariq (his surname was Masood, btw).

I thought Sasha accidentally stabbing Ruth was stoopid. It was all quite slow and he could easily have avoided it - it's not like they were all running around each other with bodieds everywhere. Stoopid, stoopid I tell you.

I loved the ending though, with Harry going back to work. We thought he was going to retire but that was fab. I also love that the words "Harry Pearce" were the last words in the series :)

Didn't actually, um, get much of the plot though. What attacks was Elena responsible for? She said "I ordered the attacks" but what attacks? Huh?

TheSmallBloodiedFingerPrint · 24/10/2011 08:02

The Spy Wall of Death was in MI5 HQ wasn't it?

Elena ordered the attacks on the suitcase and Tariq Twigs.

AVoidkaTheKillerZombies · 24/10/2011 08:50

They could have saved Elena with a bit of CPR.
What happened to Sasha? They shot him but then what?
Did the Aircrew not realise they were a stewardess down?

I still loved it and sobbed like a baby though. Really liked Tom coming back. Once he left he was supposed to have set up a private security firm with that CIA woman whos name escapes me.

pARGHssTheTwiglets · 24/10/2011 09:04

Yes, Wall Of Death in the basement of The Grid.

Aha, thanks for the explanation, Small. I assumed she meant terrorist attacks. I really have got confused about this whole series and forget things from one episode to the next. Why did she have Tariq killed - what was he about to discover? (was it who stole the laptop?) And what was on the laptop in the first place? I seem to remember it was the building plans of that place where someone was going to be assassinated?

pARGHssTheTwiglets · 24/10/2011 09:07

Oh the air stewardess bit was ridiculous. She called out to him "are you ok in there sir?" Now, let's think what's going to arouse the least suspicion:

(a) saying "I'm fine, thanks" and coming out and smiling nicely
(b) breaking her neck and leaving her there for anyone to find

I also didn't get why the terrorist on the plane had a jammer. I really need to watch that episode again.

AVoidkaTheKillerZombies · 24/10/2011 09:22

The jammer would mean they wouldnt be able to contact ATC and vice versa, therefore making the authorities suspicious, so that it might end in the plane being shot down.

pARGHssTheTwiglets · 24/10/2011 09:23

Ah yes, that was it! Thanks, Zombies :)

shotinfoot · 24/10/2011 09:27

Have been thinking overnight (must get a life)

Was the first time Harry missed Ruth when she'd died?

Off to sob some more.
