I am counting down to Sunday where they show Harry looking over the edge of the building at a nasty car crash below and Lucas legging it down the stairwell

Do we know that Tariq definitely wasn't there? (I don't know his surname.) Otherwise, I think maybe the wall was just designed to show that loads of spies (or their helpers) die in the line of duty - after all, they didn't show the name of every spy who's ever died in Spooks. Maybe the fact that Tariq's wasn't the name before Ruth's was supposed to be poignant...

Was Lucas on there? Cos his name wasn't really Lucas was it? It was John someone so he might have been (must rewind).

I now feel like I've gone into mourning all over again. Although if I had to have a knee jerk response to who upset me the most, I would say Danny.

After it did that thing where it goes into negative (with Harry on the phone), was there anything else? We had it on a 5 min delay & bloody DH immediately exited it to watch sodding Match of the Day... [Grrrr emoticon]

They seemed to make a lot of the fact that Ruth's face was cold, could that be significant in her survivability? Could it indicate a lack of blood getting to the head and therefore brain?

I am most disappointed about the lack of song at the end.

Maybe they could do a spin-off with Tom to fill the Spooks void. He was my favourite.

Whoever is directing this thing knows about Sacha being H's son, and Harry thinks the only other person who knows is the CIA guy - but Elena (obviously) knows as well. She's the one behind it all.

DH thought they were going to do a Tom spin off too but isn't he a big shot film star now? He's not going back over old ground.

I'm concerned Matthew MacFadden is a bit high profile now to be lead in another series.

I think he did a cameo just for old times sake, as that's what made him.

In my head though, Ruth's death is all an elaborate cover story to give her and Harry the privacy in his retirement that they deserve.

MoD have actually given them an island just off the west coast of Scotland with it's own lighthouse and a few sheep.

Loved the last episode - full of twists and turns. I thought Harry would be killed, although that was too predictable.

No it wasn't just a collapsed lung. Her Face Went Cold. That means that the blood circulation to the head wasn't working so it must have been Something Very Serious!

I knew that Ruth would get it. There were y'all worrying about Harry, but she had had that makeover for a reason - so that we would all like her more, and therefore be sadder!

Very cheesy final episode, made more entertaining by the fact that ds1 decided to stay up and watch it as his first ever episode of Spooks, so I had to do a running commentary, which kept coming out all mumsnetty!!

(Tom's eyes were worth hanging on for at the end tho'.)
