I am counting down to Sunday where they show Harry looking over the edge of the building at a nasty car crash below and Lucas legging it down the stairwell

He needs a serious performance review after this assignment

Oooh, can I do it? I'd be very thorough.

PassTheTwiglets · 04/10/2011 17:33

Have decided that it's not cheating on Lucas if I only mention my Dimitri crush on this thread, not the other thread :)

thestringcheeseincident · 04/10/2011 17:33

Get in line Twiglets. Grin

PassTheTwiglets · 04/10/2011 17:37

Get in line Twiglets

:o

Very well, stringcheese, howabout we share? I'll debrief him and you take down his particulars.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 04/10/2011 18:00

Oh for heaven's sake, Twiggy. I thought this thread was intended for earnest discussion of the role of espionage at a time of financial insecurity in the post-industrial world, as depicted in popular television drama.

Biscuitsandtea · 04/10/2011 18:05

Is there another thread then? A Lucas-y one?

PassTheTwiglets · 04/10/2011 18:14

Biscuits, there is a thread about Monsieur Armitage in all his lovely forms, not specifically about Lucas. But I do try to keep up the Lucas Quotient there :)

Maudie, I do try but then one just slips in, fnar fnar... :)

Biscuitsandtea · 04/10/2011 18:23

Oooh please link to the armitage thread - I lurve him from sir guy to the vicar of dibley and back again Blush

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 04/10/2011 18:24

And it's true, BiscuitsandTea, that the Armitage thread grew out of one in which cupcakesandbunting expressed a desire to ::cough:: become more closely acquainted with Mr North. Come and join us. We watch a lot of vids on YouTube conduct important academic research.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 04/10/2011 19:02

Step this way, BiscuitsandTea, although this way madness lies.

I'm afraid the tone plummeted while you were away, Small.

Biscuitsandtea · 05/10/2011 06:48

Ah yes, sorry smallprint - I suspect I'm to blame for the lowering of the tone

PassTheTwiglets · 05/10/2011 09:15

Biscuits, I think it was my "I'll take down his particulars" that did it :) It's odd - I don't like innuendo as humour in TV/films etc., but I can't resist doing it myself :)

Anyway, what I liked about this episode was that I could actually follow it! I think my DH probably liked it too, as I didn't keep asking "What's that? What's he doing? Who's she? Why did he say that?" every 10 seconds! I think I like the stand-alone plots best, like some of the old series used to be, but with the overarching plot still there in the background.

Biscuitsandtea · 05/10/2011 09:17

Yes - me too - I like a good old fashioned planned bomb attack or something similar where there is a baddie to catch. Nice to have the other stories bubbling along in the background but not the main focus every week (mainly because I forget what's happening from one week to the next).

thestringcheeseincident · 05/10/2011 09:33

Twigs, your quip made me snort all night. I tried hard to think of a suitable comeback but nothing!
Keep the tone low, it suits.

PassTheTwiglets · 05/10/2011 09:34

YYY, I am too rubbish at following plots so if I don't follow one week then that's basically it for the rest of the series.

Best Ever Spooks? Mine is - and the one that got me hooked on the show (I was a very late starter with the show - 9.1, the one with the Russian ship and the sub that goes under the Thames Barrier and threatens to blow up the Houses of Parliament. Man oh man, that was exciting. Also, there is 4.bp.blogspot.com/_mcRr3B03QgQ/TJzRPWUlp7I/AAAAAAAAHPE/iocOEbEd81Y/s640/are+you+ok.jpg

TheSmallPrint · 05/10/2011 09:45

Don't worry Biscuits, it was that loose woman Twigster bringing the tone down Wink.

To be fair it was a good start to a series 9 that one Twigs.

Watching series 3, was shocked to discover that Ruth was once a mad stalker, taking home files on someone 'very important', turning up to Mozart recitals that she knew he'd be at.... And Harry had some blonde agent spying on Ruth for him.

Maybe the mad stalker in Ruth is about to turn up again?

TheSmallPrint · 05/10/2011 13:38

I don't remember that bit (although vaguely remember her going to a recital), ooh Ruth turns mad with jealousy about Harry's love child.

OP posts:
PassTheTwiglets · 05/10/2011 14:18

Ooh, ooh, I know! Ruth is jealous of Elena so they meet in a secret location and then Dimitri takes his shirt off and... oh wait, I'm thinking of something else.

NewChoos · 05/10/2011 14:31

Loving the plot suggestions!

Poor Ruth not had the best of luck, a date with recital man was not forthcoming and Harry proposed at a funeral

PassTheTwiglets · 05/10/2011 15:02

Or Sacha finds out that he is Harry's son and in a fit of rage he gets Dinmitri to take his shirt off and.... nope, sorry, gone again.

diddl · 05/10/2011 17:24

Doesn´t Sascha already know that Harry is his father?
