Re: my previous post about Ryan looking like the bloke off the blood doning ad. Well, have now realised Ryan = Side Show Bob off the Simpsons!! Well have YOU ever seen them in a room together???

morocco · 13/12/2005 20:47

I think maybe everytime as it gets more and more unbelievable less and less people will watch it and it will go on and on and on until only the 10 most gullible people in the country are actually still watching it. then Jonny V will turn up outside their houses and laugh at them.

LIZS · 13/12/2005 21:46

The "friends and relatives " are way too composed on camera to be real. I now only wonder if each character believes they are the only mole to keep up the pretence when in fact they are all small time actors. It must be a con !!

Blandmum · 13/12/2005 21:58

too many comments about ,'it is
just like a film'. i think we may be the ones conned

zippimistletoes · 14/12/2005 13:01

here is the blood donor advert with that fuzzy haired bloke on (the gordon ramsey ad)

watch it here

it's all a load of cobblers i think they have misread the potential whichever way it's palyed out tbh

TheVillageIdiot · 14/12/2005 13:03

Didn't watch last night? just read the other thread - so is Side Show Bob the same guy as the blood doner advert?

TheVillageIdiot · 14/12/2005 13:05

Yes it's def. him isn't it.

popsycalindisguise · 14/12/2005 13:06

def him

DissLocated · 14/12/2005 13:17

doesn't mean he's not a genuine contestant though, just trying to get on tv whenever possible.

I smell a rat with this show, some of the 'space facts' sound very dodgy to me and the phone in last night with the sound chap on the satillite show was odd, sounded a bit fake.

Blandmum · 14/12/2005 16:11

some of the 'facts' are false, deliberatly so!

You cannot avoid weigtlessness by being in a low earth orbit. If you are in orbit you will be in free fall and will be effectlvly 'weigtless'. There is no such thing as an anti gravity generator, outside of Star Trek.

The sun is not in the 'hazel nut cluster' and Minsk was not named for the monkey hero 'Minsky', the russians never used monkeys, just dogs.

If we're being conned it's cr*p. Re: teh "It's just like a film" comments - people do say stuff like that though. I did when I first went to New York.

LilacBump · 14/12/2005 16:15

agree, it's him alright!

zippimistletoes · 14/12/2005 16:20

that's what's so odd mb

it's infantile and not funny, it would make a trigger happy sketch or something but i don't get the perspective we are supposed to have on the extended joke..baffling

and i think they are hasving us on saying they spent 4,000,000 if they did they were ripped off and a half by the production co

xmasmcmudding · 14/12/2005 19:32

Tee hee - the girl in the simulator is an actress too! Have a look at this Extras casting site Performers Directory and scroll down to the 7th row of photos.

I'm sure all this Googling and snooping around was Channel 4's dastardly plan all along - argh I'm so gullible!

Tinker · 15/12/2005 10:22

Good detective work.

zippimistletoes · 15/12/2005 10:24

but the question remains

why?

are they getting a prize for the first tv hoax that was a double bluff that convinced no one?

Tinker · 15/12/2005 10:26

Her being an extra doesn't stop her having applied to be on it though. Even more plausible that she would really - publicity and out of work/has the time?

RacersTheRedNosedReindeer · 15/12/2005 10:47

I am a bit sceptical that they have been training for so many weeks and not one person has walked out, there's been little in the way of rows and funny moments etc. Also that the 3 actors were acting 24/7 x 3 weeks (or whatever) - if they are all actors then they obviously only filmed what we have been led to believe were highlights. MMmm. Still, we've had a laugh - those lectures were quite amusing.

DissLocated · 15/12/2005 14:05

Sorry, I didn't explain myself very well then. The 'space facts' i was referring to are the ones on the Satillite show on E4, they give a fact before the ad break and tell you afterwards whether it was fact or fiction, not the obvious gags on the main show.

Also, what was all that nonsense about pig fat rocket fuel? I only half watched it but they appeared to be setting fire to a salami??

Hmmm .....

BOOZEandBAUBLES · 15/12/2005 14:19

I am glad that it is not just me
I am not sure what is going to happen tommorrow night as my TV listing says that it is "The Grand Finale"!
The Grand Final of what? who is the most gullible?
The only good thing I can see that has come out of it is that it is demonstrating how ludicrous and to what lengths people will go to be on or produce a "Reality T.V. Programmme".
I thought it was just me, as dh says that "no one would believe it" but I still do not understand what the point of it all is.
Have you noticed that you can see through the curtain when they go for a wee! or is it just perverted people like me that notice these things??

BOOZEandBAUBLES · 15/12/2005 14:25

Could it just be a Piss take on reality T.V?

Eaney · 17/12/2005 15:51

What did you think of last's night show?

Do you still thinl it was a hoax?

bluebear · 17/12/2005 16:02

What happened? Did they just tell the cadets it was fake?

zippimistletoes · 17/12/2005 16:08

just an anti climax from start to finish (if that's possible)

I laughed when they said as a prize they were getting the zero gravity flight i linked to earlier!

LIZS · 17/12/2005 16:11

The ones who "went into space" got 25k each though for their trouble ! Still think it was a set up, as their initial reaction to being told it was a fake was pretty restrained.
