I said on a thread about a year ago "if Sunita goes back to Dev I'm going to stop watching". Well, I didn't but I'm beginning to wish I had!

Dev and Sunita are well capable of better plot lines. They're both under used, and what has been given them recently is poor.

I could put up with the aunties if they were (barking) light relief amongst good storylines. Against the current backdrop, it's just embarrassing.

Although Julie's backstreet Romeo and Juliet storyline maybe the start of something. Im hoping!!

I have been watching Corrie for a very long time ( think birth of Nick Tilsley) I really cannot imagine not watching it and yet I am starting to wonder what would it take for me to stop. I used to watch all the soaps and have gradually dropped them till Corrie is the only one left, how much longer?

I got no idication that devs daughter was gay when she was last in it, she was all loved up with the boy whose dad was sinbad in brookie.

There are 5 gay characters at present. It's possible that Todd will be returning. Then there's these further ones. That's quite a lot for one short street!

Yes apparantly the new producer is gay and has stated he wants more gay storylines.

As much as I loved Queer as Folk I think it will get boring if everyone is suddenly gay. It will be like Tales of the City with Rita as Mrs Madrigal

Corrie has always been if not gay, then certainly camp, right from the start.
Look at Tony Warren and its history of strong women characters that became gay icons.
Personally my favourite episodes are the Jonathan Harvey ones (can't get much gayer ).
If a gay producer (surely not the first) brings back a little of that campness then Corrie will be well back on form

I think Stella is going to be a great character BUT that accent is going to get right on my tits!!

I don't mind gay characters but thought the sudden tolerant attitude of all the other character is a stretch of the imagination. Roy's Mum made some comment about 2 gay men not making any worse a job than a straight couple, it might be true but didn't sit right with that character, I'm sure she'd be rather narrow minded on the subject.

And why the flip did Stella agree to move into the pub with Steve still living there?! Especially with all his gurning last night

Yes, it has always been camp but, truth be told, someone like Norris would soon have something to say if the Rovers jukebox suddenly got all Gaga and YMCA. I just dont think coronation street being the next Brighton would in real life sit well with the residents. That horrible builder springs to mind.
