did anyone watch this?

I got really annoyed with the husband, thought he was pathetic- leaving his wife and kids after 2months.

OP posts:
troublesmummy · 14/11/2005 22:41

Pathetic yes, but quite enjoyed it. Thought it was good, and wish it had all been on tonight. I can't be doing with two-part programmes and things that finish after the news etc. If i'm watching something, i wanna watch it!! Silly ITV people

JoolsToo · 14/11/2005 22:42

it could have been good if they hadn't had the terminal illness in it - I just groaned!

QueenVictoria · 14/11/2005 22:42

Gripping stuff though.

RTKangaMummy · 14/11/2005 22:43

I watched it

he was a wimp ruled by his crotch

but was good though

jumpingjackflash · 14/11/2005 23:06

I watched it and thought the acting (particularly the betrayed wife) was excellent. It actually affected me quite a lot.... suddenly realised the pain you could cause by having an affair... missed the beginning so how did they meet?

UCM · 14/11/2005 23:28

I watched it and said to DH, when he came home late'God am watching this prog where the husband has an affair, ugh it's awful' He went to the living room and turned on Sci Fi, God, honestly whats it all about these days. I might as well be married to a 'Pebble called Ron'. I never watch TV as I am always in my little room crafting.

But this was good (apart from the illness bit)

Can't wait until tomorrow. I will watch it with Ron.

Gobbledigook · 14/11/2005 23:28

Thought it was good and things like this always provoke discussion in our house.

Agree with JT that the illness bit ruins it.

UCM · 14/11/2005 23:29

He was a security guard empoloyed by her Co. I think.

MrsSpoon · 14/11/2005 23:36

Enjoyed this, can't wait 'till tomorrow, had a bit of a groan at the terminal illness but judging by the trailer for tomorrow it is the catalyst (is that the right word?) for some twists and turns in the plot.

The husband was making me soooo and I am just hoping that it turns out badly for him rather than 'I followed my heart and experienced true love even although it was only for a short period of time' rubbish, especially as DH is watching it and I think it is good for men to be reminded that affairs screw up everyone's lives.

Tortington · 14/11/2005 23:39

i never watch stuff like this - but i did. and i was outraged. i mouthed off to dh - how i couldnt believe it and if he ever......
"behave" says he " 17 years and i've just broke you in!!!!" cheeky bstard.

think i know how it ends though.

tiredemma · 15/11/2005 07:46

yes, watched it, so did dp which almost made me fall over as he never watches anything other than soaps and "pimp my ride". Think it has something to do with the fact that he has a soft spot for Tamsin.

Think he got fed up of me tutting and muttering "what a weak pathetic excuse for a man etc etc", he said "OK i get your point, all men who have affairs are arseholes" couldnt agree more with him.

although he said that the piece where blokey said that all women are happy to have any man, just so they can say that they have a man, must be true. As I have become complacent apparently!!.
bloody cheek.

piffle · 15/11/2005 07:51

Reckon I can write the ending too, Julie Graham is a very good actor I think, I thought alot of it was good to watch but a bit like a book you know you're already read but can't remember the details too.
The scene in the driveway when he left got to me though...

noddyholder · 15/11/2005 08:31

I really enjoyed this it was a good watch and thought Tamsin Outhwaite was great casting as I do find her really unlikeable and a bit of a mans woman It makes a change from endless c**p reality shows

overdraft · 15/11/2005 10:13

i watched it too with my dh hanging around and trying not to sit down although he did in the end.We are 5 months on from an affair that he had and no wonder he felt uncomfortable watching.
I had to watch it though.

They got it so right though. My husband behaved like this.I am glad they showed the wife as a sexy, funny woman and they had lots of fun together too.So many people don't realise that affairs start like this.

The part where the husband said he couldn't belive that someone else would fancy him and she said well don't i count then was like they had been a fly on the wall in our house.

I hope it will make men think twice. Was brill though and can't wait till tonight. What do you think will happen?

foxinsocks · 15/11/2005 10:19

I was practically groaning throughout the whole thing and after about 45 mins, I'd had enough and gave up.

RTKangaMummy · 15/11/2005 12:41

I think there are some twists

Saw interviews and they said there were twists thoughout

JoolsToo · 15/11/2005 12:45

well obviously the women get pally we saw that bit

JoolsToo · 15/11/2005 12:45

if I need a sick bucket I'm not going to be happy - I hate schmaltz

carly82 · 15/11/2005 12:46

thought this was a great prog! my dp huffed and puffed when i told him what is was about and stormed to the pc stamping his feet but after ten minutes of glancing out of the corner of his eye said that he 'may as well watch it' cant wait for tonights episode

expatinscotland · 15/11/2005 12:49

I'd have tossed that loser 'husband' right out the door and been done w/him. The last thing anyone needs in life is a feckless lilly-livered selfish git like that.

I've always been of the opinion that when you're married and have kids and have an affair, you cheat on your entire family, not just your spouse.

And this shows why.

I've known so many men whose fathers cheated on their wives, and these men were scarred and terrified of turning out like their fathers. What a horrible thing to do to a kid just b/c you had no self-control!

Follow your heart when you're at a point in life where you don't destroy your loved ones' lives by it. Otherwise, grow the f*&k up and learn some consideration for others, especially those you chose to bring into the world.

i was writing christmas cards

but dh watched it he is getting more scuzzy by the day

it looked dreadful

I think tamsin outhwaite is a moose

expatinscotland · 15/11/2005 12:54

She's deffo moose-like, Enid. Plays a really weak and pathetic person in this, too.

If I were the wife, I wouldn't have bothered giving the time of day to such a sorry louse.

noddyholder · 15/11/2005 12:54

expat everyone f*ks up at some point sometimes forgiveness is appropriate Very easy to say kick him out until you are in the situation
