Bring your notebooks, your whiteboards, your clipboards, your pens, your tape measures and your waterways maps to solve the problem of what happened to Nanna Birk Larsen.

But why did he take Theis on a road trip to tell him? That doesn't make sense to me.

teej · 19/03/2011 11:59

btw re younger women and older richer men - too many examples to cite but just in the press at the moment - charlie sheen and silvio berlusconi

atswimtwolengths · 19/03/2011 11:59

MinniBar, could you tell us when this series is over?

And Teej, yes, Rie isn't the type to murder in that way, I agree.

Gah! My head's back to where it was last weekend, when I had to take a week off to cope with this!

Good point about Charlotte and the coke habit. Had forgotten that.

teej · 19/03/2011 12:01

atswim yup wierd but i think he was making up any old crap to buy time to get a sense of whether or not theis was likely to kill him before he told the truth!
a raging theis - not a good idea. a calm theis recognising the previous link between nanna and amir - better!

teej · 19/03/2011 12:03

atswim it has been said that they were taking bets on the killer before the final episode in denmark so if you can't piece it together until information provided in the final eppy it's perfectly understandable we're all going mad with speculation!!!

thebestofyou · 19/03/2011 12:04

teej No -will do Thanks!

Roadtrip -was Amir trying to ensure no one else saw him with Theis - Pernille,Charlotte,Vagn ?

MinnieBar · 19/03/2011 12:49

Yes I'll keep it to the end, even if it's humiliatingly wrong!

Is anyone else hearing 'Troel' in their head whenever someone is accused of being a troll on a thread?!

Fivecentsplease · 19/03/2011 13:31

wow things have moved on apace here! teej totally agree re Amir - think the not coming forward is out of grief and shame at his involvement in the loss of Nana, + pressure from the father.

Agree with you all that Charlotte is involved - the look in the bar from the barman was more than 'pull your finger out', it was a keep your trap shut: She has not come forward with info when she could have done, either (though that seems common to all) - and it's a massive gap not to know who Nana was in the hotel with.

I think there was more going on at the flat than Holck and Nanna - Olav had booked it on many occaisions and the persons unknown had not turned up - I had the impression Holck and Nana used Hotels often, so like the escort/politician thing!

She had dumped Oliver for the older man, hadn't she, and he still loved her he said.....
Still can't fit Amir picking up Nana and luggage into the final evening.....ideas anyone? Amir was safe and sound on the station surveillance camera, wasn't he.... He would have thought she had bottled out, when she didn't turn up, so did he just sulk until the Monday when she was found?

AAAhhhggghhhhh. Never has a tv programme eaten my life to such a degree.

Fivecentsplease · 19/03/2011 13:36

Just to add one more thing: Does TRM know about the run-away plan? He was arguing with Amir, just before he met up with Theis, and Amir stropped off....Why would he want to stop Amir giving Theis the tape.

Spotted some Thies sideburns this morning! (attached to a face obviously)

Fivecentsplease · 19/03/2011 14:04

Me again! Buy your Guardians today for large glossy mag article on all things Danish including The Killing.........

muminlondon · 19/03/2011 14:25

Just reading the Guardian mag now! Will look up the Danish author Jussi Adler-Olsen at some point (wasn't Jussi the name of Wallander's dog?) .

atswimtwolengths · 19/03/2011 14:29

I don't think Oliver is going to have anything to do with it (probably famous last words!) but he was a very odd looking boy, wasn't he? And he dad was violent towards him.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

OP posts:
Fivecentsplease · 19/03/2011 14:38

Jussi the dog was named after Jussi Bjorling, his favourite opera singer!

atswimtwolengths · 19/03/2011 15:05

Oh god, Radio Times says the end of tonight's episode (18) will leave us "winded and staring into space."

OP posts:
muminlondon · 19/03/2011 15:07

that Jussi! :)

Fivecentsplease · 19/03/2011 16:42

What again? atswim

Blackduck · 19/03/2011 17:02

atswim.....so par for the course then ;)

muminlondon · 19/03/2011 17:03

So we'll all have the 'Pernille look' then.

atswimtwolengths · 19/03/2011 17:23

Oh god forbid any of us should ever feel as Pernille does. She's a fantastic actress but I hope she isn't drawing on her own experiences.

OP posts:
atswimtwolengths · 19/03/2011 17:24

I can't remember when two such great actresses were the driving force behind a production. The others are great, too, but Lund and Pernille are just fantastic.

OP posts:
Fivecentsplease · 19/03/2011 17:25

Grin @ muminlondon

Fivecentsplease · 19/03/2011 17:29

Anyone notice in the Guardian article, they say 'a TV show that no-one can tweet about -or chat about for fear of spoilers..."

They haven't looked here, have they (or at their own web pages, come to that!) We have 1523 messages here of pure specuation! Wink

muminlondon · 19/03/2011 17:31

They are fascinating characters and brilliantly played. I should also have said how much Pernille expresses just through those deep and anguished stares - there have been very few histrionic scenes and even when she did lose it altogether, in the hotel room, it was off camera.

I do hope that UK programme makers are taking note that we just don't want any more formulaic, stereotyped and cliched plotlines and characters.

muminlondon · 19/03/2011 17:33

Fivecents, saw that - but have you realised that there are very few posts during the programme? So Grace Dent is right about that.
