20 in a class
No curriculum
TV Cameras

And they still piss around! Maybe people will start to get a real idea about how perhaps some of the students are in fact not vitims but the architects of their own downfall!

is this on?

londonone · 02/03/2011 21:18

yes!

OP posts:
wonderstuff · 02/03/2011 21:19

it seems it is a bit tricky to teach these children!

tassisssss · 02/03/2011 21:20

thanks!

londonone · 02/03/2011 21:21

lol - starkey might be quite funny! Glad to see at least one of them already making excuses.

OP posts:
londonone · 02/03/2011 21:22

Oh if only teachers could dish it out like that in real life!

OP posts:
wonderstuff · 02/03/2011 21:22

Bet its been a long time since anyone insulted Starkey.

crapbarry · 02/03/2011 21:25

it's quite scary - as Jamie said, these kids are feral!

londonone · 02/03/2011 21:26

lol - there are kids like this in the vast majority of comprehensives!

OP posts:
Heathcliffscathy · 02/03/2011 21:27

the kids are full of attitude.

but starkey is and always has been a total wanker.

got2bequackers · 02/03/2011 21:27

Actually with no curriculum no exams and at least some degree of willingness from the kids it shouldnt be that difficult to engage these kids. Attempting to teach like you would in a university is pointless.

crapbarry · 02/03/2011 21:27

that's what scares me!! It's been a LONG time since I was in a class with kids like that - not since 4th year (after which the ghastly ones left). Who'd be a teacher?

SlackSally · 02/03/2011 21:28

I also notice that none of the teachers have asked the pupils to actually DO anything.

wonderstuff · 02/03/2011 21:29

No curriculum and no exams - how are they measuring success?

Thingumy · 02/03/2011 21:29

I have a child like this.

Today she was removed from school today for 2 days as she swore at a teacher.

I'm at a loss with her.

CaveMum · 02/03/2011 21:29

It's not just a recent thing, I remember being in school with kids like this 15 years ago. A whole classroom full of them is a scary prospect!

Guacamole · 02/03/2011 21:29

Sorry I may be being naive but how on Earth do children end up like that. And maybe it's just me but what is all this crap about 'respect'.

crapbarry · 02/03/2011 21:31

I was about to ask the same thing guacamole - I was taught that respect had to be earned, it seems these kids expect it as a matter of course, no matter how badly they behave.

londonone · 02/03/2011 21:31

Teaching is easy don't you know! Any celebrity can do it!!!!

OP posts:
BunnyWunny · 02/03/2011 21:31

I can't see why it's a dream school. The history guy is demonstrating why teachers are teachers and not just academically brilliant people.

Not worked out what Jamie is trying to prove yet. Is he trying to show that all kids can be taught if they have the right teachers, or is trying to show that there are some kids which are virtually unteachable? Suspect it will be the former.

Not that easy in real life though. And not all kids are like these.

Thingumy · 02/03/2011 21:31

Well,I certainly did NOT bring my child up to be feral and disrespectful.

And you do feel a failure as a parent.

wonderstuff · 02/03/2011 21:31

Henry's mum's hair needs a wash!

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 02/03/2011 21:32

I didn't like Starkey's approach. I really felt for the lad he humiliated.

Lotkinsgonecurly · 02/03/2011 21:32

Am quite speechless, how can he not want to go sailing with Ellen mcarthur!

sethstarkaddersmackerel · 02/03/2011 21:32

yeah they're certainly not the most brilliant teachers ever. Starkey hadn't got a clue.

but some of the kids are appalling.
