It all depends on how they are treated the rest of the time I suppose. I mean if they are utter spoilt little brats or this is the one big thing they get per year.

I do have one friend who doesn't give her dcs anything during the year so goes all out at Christmas and on birthdays. My dts's friend had a guy at their party who had little creepy crawly animals for the kids to see but that was in their backyard.

Some of these folk though are a bit pretentious.
