That really! I am trying to think of a special, memorable present! Want to have some suggestions Thanks

I shall gift her some money and 18 presents, not all expensive. Some thoughtful and some meaningful gifts, a key ring with 18 on, a necklace with birthstone and name on, personalised garden planter, things like that. It’s hard to consider gifts for your 18 year old daughter

imnotapensioneryet · 16/09/2022 23:45

An antique locket. She loves it and wears it often.

sandgrown · 16/09/2022 23:47

A Tiffany key ring .

RamsayEaster · 16/09/2022 23:49

Following for ideas too

FrecklesMalone · 16/09/2022 23:57

Personally I would get one big present rather than lots of tat. Unless you have a massive budget!
A locket is a lovely idea.

MolliciousIntent · 16/09/2022 23:58

A while ago now,but my mum and dad bought me a fancy new sewing machine. I still use it pretty much every day.

Selok · 17/09/2022 21:20

Thanks all for suggestions. In fact locket is a good idea, with our picture in it! She is our only child and we are not a large family, so picture of us three in a locket- maybe from Tiffany or Pandora maybe- will need to do some £ research

Wouldn't she rather have one beautiful luxury item that she could treasure forever like a really special piece of jewellery than lots of but and pieces that will fall by the wayside very quickly?

Selok · 17/09/2022 21:36

@deedledeedledum thinking the same - what options are there other than tiffany's? Do you know? I keep seeing Lily Blanche but never heard of it before!

OP Tiffany's price point is just a whole lot lower than the other big names. You don't have to go with a big name. There a lots of nice independent or smaller manufacturing jewellers. Places like Monica Vinader do a lot of gold plated stuff. It won't last for years and years

bettedaviseyes1999 · 17/09/2022 21:50

A Tiffany choker. It was second hand but gorgeous. She wears it all the time and it looks very on trend.

Runningintolife · 17/09/2022 21:51

Luggage!

Runningintolife · 17/09/2022 21:52

And some other things, but some really nice suitcases. DH thought it was unsubtle!

OnaBegonia · 17/09/2022 21:54

@Selok
My DD just turned 17, it was Vivienne Westwood she asked
for from her older siblings, very cool
I'm told. I paid for her to go on holiday with her friend.

geogteach · 17/09/2022 22:04

A cello

user1497787065 · 18/09/2022 06:25

A Mulberry handbag

hattie43 · 18/09/2022 06:37

Very hard to suggest without knowing OP's budget or daughters interests .

Personally I would steer away from anything costume jewellery or that will tarnish eg Pandora which I think is a bit naff now .
It has to be something that will last forever , be timeless and a one off that she isn't likely to be gifted again .

Classics
Mulberry handbag / piece of luggage
Smythson wallet purse diary or notebook
Tiffany jewellery
Fabulous watch , Cartier , Rolex
Once in a lifetime holiday
Really classic piece of clothing eg my friend was given a leather jacket that she still wears 35 yrs later or a classic black will coat perhaps .

hattie43 · 18/09/2022 06:38

Wool

Gatehouse77 · 18/09/2022 06:54

The important gift for each was an engraved drinking vessel.
Tankard for DS.
Prosecco glass for DD1.
Cocktail glass for DD2

They chose the vessel style but we chose the particular one and had them engraved.

They had another gift too but nothing ‘amazing’. We also bought champagne, or Prosecco 😜, to toast them being able to drink legally (in pubs they were allowed to drink at home - within reason!).

A beautiful set of coffee cups and antique silver spoons.

A Mulberry handbag

Mulberry is an unusual choice for an 18 year old isn't it?

TeenDivided · 18/09/2022 18:31

An engraved glass block
A Caithness glass paperweight
An 18 for her traditional charm bracelet

And other stuff.

OxanaVorontsova · 18/09/2022 18:32

One wanted a new laptop, the other wanted designer boots so that’s what they got

youarntaguest · 18/09/2022 18:42

We gave her 1000 pounds toward her first car she saved the rest up herself
