A private reg and some Tom Ford perfume that she loved (and always used to steal off me).

Tbh at 18 mine didn't want the sort of keepsake gifts I wanted to give. They weren't really mature enough at.
DD1 wanted a festival ticket
DS wanted a coffee machine for his room
DD2 wanted a vivenne westwood costume jewellery ring ( expensive rubbish quality , not even silver and stone fell out and is superglued back in!)
However they all absoletely loved what they got.
For 21st birthday they were a lot more mature
So
DD1 diamond studd earrings
DS a watch.
Both rejected these gift ideas whenthey were 18 !
DD3 is regretting her vivanne westwood ring choice and wants proper jewellery for her 21st.
So my advice is probably to do a bigger gift when they are 21 and more mature

We paid for a decent laptop for Uni…I genuinely cannot remember what it was . About £800 I think . It was 10 years ago

Mac book for university, interrailing package, one got a fun personalised stethoscope, a family tiara/necklace each, their baby books and a monthly allowance for their time at university their accounts for university. A coat, heels and boots - but we always get them coats and shoes/boots for birthdays and Christmas.

@Runnerduck34 your post made me smile 😃I think you are right in saying maybe save the keep-stake one till 21st birthday, I agree they are not mature enough for that thoughtful presents! I am still thinking, considering a nice suitcase for her future travels, and still looking at other suggestions but will probably keep it lighter. I am also trying to collage all pictures and videos- believe it is a very challenging job, I keep starting and giving up anyways do something with the pictures like a slide show or something

Dd1 wants an iPad Air. Not very sentimental but it’s what she’s asked for and it’s over £500 so it’s about all she’ll get.

Hello, I’m after ideas for gifts for daughters 18th birthday. Her dad passed away end of last year, I’m overthinking what to get her & I guess to try & make it perfect although I know nothing can replace not having her dad. Thank you in advance for your time in answering me x

I got dd a necklace, I found a lady who designs and makes jewellery and she hade dd a beautiful necklace using gold from her great grandmothers wedding ring.

It’s a really special necklace and dd loves it.

As we already had the gold the cost of making the necklace was about £150.

Money.
Didn't make a big deal out of her 21st at all.
