How tall are your 13 year old sons?

My son is(nearly) 13 and is 150cm(4ft 11)At the moment he seems small compared to his peers but I'm guessing he'll prob grow lots between 13 and 14. But will prob wont be that tall. I am 5ft 6.5 and dh is 5ft 5.5.

My DS is 14 and he’s only 5’2 which worries me a bit. My other son who is 12 is 5 foot. I’m 5’7 and his dad was 5’10.

6ft!
His Dad is 6.2 but me and DD are quite small. He’s broad as well, his new blazer is a 44 chest and he has size 11 feet.
He will probably slow down soon and his peers will catch up, from experience boys tend to shoot up in Y9 - hopefully DS won’t though!!

Mine is 13, almost 14 and is just under 5 ft. Everyone is considerably taller and he gets bullied a bit. We took him to the docs and he is not going through puberty but prob will at about 14/15 and get a growth spurt like his dad and his uncles did. It's all he thinks about and breaks my heart.

the difference in sizes varies so much. Like the OP my friend’s son is smaller than most but I think he’s a late grower. Lots of boys including my son aren’t going through puberty yet.

I think around 5 foot 2 - he is almost 14

My 13yo ds is the same height as I am so 5 foot 5. He use to be the shortest kid in his class and charting under the 9th centile on the height chart when he was 9yo and then we found out he had coeliac disease.

It really can be anything at that age. My brother was 5’2 or 3 at that age. By 16, he was still only about 5’7. At 18, he was 6’1!

My DS is only 5 and a half and is already 4’2 and in size 1 shoes. He’s been a head taller or more than all his friends his whole life so far but I’m not expecting that to last through his teens either. It’s a weird time!

Update to say my DS is doing really well now, not long turned 16 and is 5 9 and turning into a lovely young man.

It's been a struggle but we are getting there!

ah that's a lovely update, SnipSnip- my son turned 16 a couple of weeks ago- he's 5ft 6 and about to go to 6th form. i'm wondering whether he'll get another growth spurt any time soon!

I replied to this when it was first posted but I have another 13 year old now. He’s 5ft 9 and has the biggest feet in the family.

It’s funny that so many 13 year olds over take their mums at 13. DS is 13 and we are currently exactly the same height (5’4) although his feet are much bigger than mine at a size 7. My family are short and DH’s are tall but late bloomers so who knows how he’ll end up.

DS2 is 5’10 tall and about 6 inches wide. His dad is 6’3 and I am 5’2. He is well into puberty and had a huge growth spurt this year. I guess he has another few inches to go.

DS1 is 16 and so far 6 feet exactly and his friends who were very tall compared to others a year or so ago are not necessarily the tallest now. Size at 13 is not any kind of indicator for future height unless they are already extremely tall.

My 13yo is 5'8" and has probably grown 4 inches in the past 6 months. His dad is 6'6" though, and he's actually much smaller than his brother was at the same age.

I think I was also on this thread - my son is almost 15 and is def growing now he is 5.5ft so not tall but last week he was my height 5ft 3!

My then 12 year old at 5'6" is now 16.5 and 6' even. I am pretty sure he has just about stopped growing now. He's the youngest and tallest of my 3 sons. Middle son is just 5'9" and my eldest is 5'11".

My DS was 13 in October and is 6ft 1". I think he just shot up early though and reckon it will all even out.

I posted on here 3 years ago with a chart and said that my sons were on track to be the same height as Dad . Now my 15 is the same height as Dad (6ft1 ) and hasn’t grown since June . My other DS now 13 is 5 ft 6 and growing at a much slower rate than his brother …

Ds (13) was 5ft 3 when this thread started. He's now 18 and 6ft 1. His sister has just turned 14 and is 5ft 8 so now I'm wondering how tall she'll be!

Mine is 14 next month and around 5’6 or 7, just a smidge shorter than his big sister and a lot taller than me. I reckon he’s in the middle of his friends, lots are a similar height but some are 6inches taller or 6 inches shorter. He’s quite skinny at the moment, I think he’s been stretched!

He’s 18 now and has grown just a smidge. He’s 5ft 7, still not quite caught up with his sister (she’s 5ft 8) and still skinny. Most of his friends are considerably taller and also bulkier than he is.
